Yeah this is fucking bullshit.  If teams want an off day between series they should've won enough to get the bye.

As much as I think the Mariners and their fans are just not serious people, Ichiro is a dude, man.

That man lives and breathes baseball.

He’s an icon.

I think If it is Seattle v Los Angeles that’d be the first West Coast World Series in about 20+ years, Angels v Giants.

can’t remember any others in the 2000s

Well the west coast AL teams are Oakland, aneheim, and Seattle. How often have any of them been good the past 20 years?

but, Seattle and La would be a great series. Those two pitching staffs and those two pitcher’s parks?  Yes please.

cubs doing the best they can as a small market team.

White sox with 2nd lowest revenue doesn't seem right.  They need the pope to hook them up with some of that credit immobliere money.

Needs to be both a salary cap and a salary floor. Don't let cheapass teams become parasites of the league, but also try to keep the spending somewhat level among the top teams.  Adding a hard cap and deleting the luxury tax would be great for the league, because it would remove some barriers to spending by those middle class teams that won't go above that first tax threshold. A $300m hard cap and $150m floor would do wonders to improve teams and make them be more creative about how they spend their money. However, the poors love the luxury tax system for the free money, and most of the big teams don't mind paying it.
