Smothers to Bama should help us with Raleek Brown you would think.

Im guessing he goes to Texas base don that shit crop of schools

Who needs OL or RBs when we can spend money on 3 enormous DL and 2-3 edges after we went into the portal only looking for one guy on the DL?

If we shut out every opponent, we just need our new transfer portal special teams guys to make a FG or have our defense get a pick six. We don't need no stinking RBs!

Don’t want to be a hater and haven’t watched any video of this kid. But just say no Texas and save the Pennies

This new website layout is about as responsive as our o line chasing this portal season

You should call them up and ask

Sources around the recruitment, FWIW, are saying that the offers from Texas and ATM aren't far enough apart to matter. It's going to come down to other recruiting characteristics. If that is true and the guy chooses to go play for a first time OC in College Station, well, HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!

The HOLY FUCKING SHIT possibility highlights the X factor of any sort of recruitment: Some people are more comfortable surrounded by idiots

Just a hypothetical, but if we were to pay Raleek Brown $1m that would be an indication we are both retarded and desperate. He put those numbers up in the Big XII, he's much, much smaller than Wisner, but he's a speedy fucker. Hardly worth $1m, imo. That's called overpaying for little return, or no ROI. Why pay, again hypothetical, $1m to a guy who wouldn't be our starter? He's 5'9 (so realistically he's 5'8) and 195 LBS (so realistically he's 185 LBS). Wisner is listed at 6'0 (so at least 2" taller and around the same weight).

USC/ASU both tried to use him like Zachariah Branch/Makai Lemon, and it did not go well. He's great for a lower level conference like the Big XII, but no way this dude can hold up in the SEC. Not a chance.

If we get him, I hooe he's RB2 and we don't spend stupid money on him. That would be a massive disappointment.

Bobby just talked about this wrt Coleman - he's a player who if he does things right will be a top 15 draft pick in 2027. The signing bonus for that high of a pick is significantly higher than anything any college will offer.

I posted that yesterday. I’m just going to assume Bobby is following all of my content and repurposing it for his readers.

I really don't understand why anyone with comparable offers would do this intentionally.

I would be shocked if whatever chief wiggins puts on the field next year is not a complete disaster.

A&M has produced 1 single WR drafted since 2019, Ainas Smith which was from Jimbo Fisher.

I guess Conception will go this year, but thats pretty bad.

At ASU he had 1,141 rushing yards on just 186 carries at a 6.1 ypc clip. We would kill for that kind of production here.

Didn’t Damon Wilson do that last year?

Yes. I don’t think people understand what a cesspool the portal is.

Agreed, but again, he's playing at a lower level that only one team seems to have a defense, tech, he went 19/69/1 @ 3.6 ypc. I'm not enthralled with him. He's a gadget back.

I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I was super excited when January 2 came. Figured it would take a few days and over the weekend to get some momentum. But it seems like a ton of other schools are getting their targets and we’re just pissing in the wind. I know, I know-gaping vagina. Say what you want – I really don’t care. But how a team like Indiana, who’s still preparing for the next round in the playoffs, are getting their targets? I guess school donors have equaled the playing field. This just isn’t going how I thought it would. Oh well – I guess some of these 4 and 5 stars who are already on campus need to earn their money.

Glad to have Omarion Miller come to ASU from Colorado. We needed a WR in the worst kind of way. Dillingham has retooled the skill positions, but we still need a much better line to make it all work well. Still, this is pretty cool.

I see other schools 995ers are now throwing out the Texas make their collectives feel good, to go along with players using the Texas name to drive up prices and sound important. This is the first time I've heard this guy's name from anyone. Of course, he's not in the portal and still in the playoffs, so maybe that's it...

Along those same lines, I assume the agents lie about the actual offers they’ve received for clients?

That seems very difficult to navigate if you’re the Texas staff. The NFL has a salary cap so they can dial in a range for a free agent. But with the portal, the amount of money systemwide might be much higher than Texas realizes. Are they able to estimate what a player will sign for, roughly, in the marketplace?

As an example, they didn’t want to pay $1m for Wisner based on their resources and their estimated value for him. What if the RB pay is going up across the marketplace substantially? Do they know market rates, at least roughly? I realize a name like Coleman is difficult to estimate.

Brown had 100 yards and 6+ ypc against Mississippi State.

Wisner managed 41 and 3.4 ypc against Mississippi State.

Cody Campbell is embarrassing as fuck at this point. People think Tech outspends everyone in NIL, no they are just brash and loud about spending. Its the dude that hit 6 figures for the first time and decides buying a tesla truck is the best investment of his new found wealth. Now with this its taken it a step further, now hes the loser kid in school whos mom had to bribe people to come to his birthday party. Even once you are there you can't wait to leave, even with the clown, petting zoo and magician it doesn't change the fact you never ever wanted to be there...thanks for the cash loser

I'm not saying you should give him 7 figures, but trying to pretend that Raleek Brown secretly sucks is kind of a weird take.

He would be your best running back unless Clark makes the leap.

Raleek Brown was a good back for us. I hope he does well in his final season. I wish he would’ve stayed, but as a RB you have a short shelf life to get paid so go and get the money. I also wouldn’t exactly say Brown was running behind a really good line at ASU. Give him better line play and a chance to get downhill and he’ll produce in the SEC or BIG10 for someone.

Someone needs to tell Cody Campbell this is dumb. Literally anyone can pay to put an ad up there. I worked in that area for around 7 years. Heck people put birthday wishes on the same signage he’s bragging about. Most people passing by that are from other countries and have no idea what in the heck that’s all about.

Things are not very opaque any more and agents will have their shit pushed in if they get caught lying and inflating offers. Schools can turn the table on an agent by telling players they will not deal with anyone working with agent X. Even with someone like Coleman, everyone is going to have an idea of that value based on their own roster dealings, recruiting ranges, and what multiple agents are willing to say. That said, in Coleman's case, he's working with guys that cut massive NFL deals. This shit is just the small fry for them so that they can represent him in the NFL. They're not going to wreck that by overplaying his hand with the schools.

Is the two Michigan OL and the Ole Miss Guard (Kutas) to much to ask?

That's great, and he offers more wiggle than Wisner, but he's (allegedly) asking for $1m. Would you spend your $1m if you had it on this kid? Of course not. We can play the but but but against a similar team, he/they had yada yada yada, but don't forget this team had to go to OT against this shitty Miss St and UK teams. Different circumstances. We played two very different teams almost two months apart. Wisner is not good, he's barely serviceable, and he played in a harder conference.

If he works, great. If not, it's not like moving up a conference didn't tell us what we already knew. Same with the Caleb Hawkins nonsense. People get ahead of their skis on a basically ok back from lesser conference who puts up ok numbers, and then fceplants and we all wonder what happened.

Cam played HS ball ~30 miles SE of Auburn, in Phenix City. Landing at Auburn is not that far out of the question. He did flip from Aggy to Auburn after Jimbo was fired.

He had 4 visits: Auburn, LSU, Aggy, Clemson. For an NIL era signing, it certainly looks like a list of bag-toting teams, though.

and Hugh Freeze still had cred for being a good coach, just an amoral one, at the time.

I’ll admit that I’m biased, but I’d much rather sign Durham as a speed back than R. Brown. He would be cheaper and when healthy he is much more explosive. He didn’t have a great year in 2025 but he also was playing on a pretty hurt ankle. Becton’s program has done a pretty good job with keeping Texas healthy for the most part and I know he would be interested if Texas called. He was pretty good in the SEC in 2024.

That's an absolutely wild and completely incorrect take on Durham being more explosive than Brown because it hasn't been backed up by anything on the field.

Durham had that 10.25 heavily wind aided 100 (adjusted time was like 10.5x!!!) that got him known as a burner in HS but he hasn't proven it on the field really.

Brown averaged 32 percent more yards per carry last year at 6.1 to 4.6. Also more explosive in passing game. Yeah Durham was hurt but he hasn't been a burner in college

He will be cheaper and there is a huge reason why.

When we took Matthew Golden from Houston (Big 12), he had pretty pedestrian numbers (38 catches, 404 yards) but he showed big flashes including the game against us.

I don't get this assumption that going from the Big 12 to the SEC is some overwhelming task. The entire 2024 Longhorns team did it quite easily.

When folks say these things it’s just to denigrate other conferences or teams. This is how people have been about anything since forever. I hope the guys who leave the Big XII or other conferences for the SEC do well. Well maybe not so much if they go to aggy or OUsucks.
