Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - Shit In One Hand, Hope In the Other, Tell Us Which One Fills Up Faster

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but how good actually is Baugh? His stats don't exactly jump off the page at you.

One thing that sticks out to me is a season long of 26 yards. Of the top 50 rushers in CFB, that's 50th. It came in the first game of the season against something called Long Island University.

Not strictly transfer related, but significant roster news

  • This kind of shit from our fanbase wears me out. Sark took over a lost program and since we've been to 2 semis and should have been in the playoffs this year but for a committee that doesn't understan

This is where the NIL world gets silly, in my opinion. If Texas is willing to pay wingo sum A and he wants to be at Texas then he should sign. The issue is his agent floats that sum around and some random school that has saved up money for a wr throws out sum B then it’s in Texas’s corner to match or pass. It’s nonsense but ultimately will probably workout for Texas more often than other schools who are less rich. I may not be understanding it correctly though tbh.

Now, just who do you think agents are looking out for, anyway?

Are the Sharks a joke to you? Such a cool mascot

He’s a potential future first round and should be one of the best in the country next year

Fair question imo. If you take out LIU and FSU, the numbers aren't exciting. He certainly passed the eye test against Texas but still only 4.0 ypc in that game.

One thing that's encouraging is 5.3 ypc despite not having a run longer than 26. That means he probably doesn't get stuffed much and is a good short-yardage back.

Coleman will be the best player in the portal for this entire cycle. The bidding war for him is going to be astronomical.

.....which is exactly the reason he's entering the portal....strike when the iron's hot!

Man, it sorta sucks to be a G5 team that makes the playoffs (or close). JMU, UNT, and Tulane are getting absolutely gutted, both coaches and players.

Guys, we're supposed to be all in for a natty in Arch's last season!

What are the odds our coaching staff/analysts can put all of the needed players in place to produce a natty?

It’s the lot in life of the smaller programs. You have a great season and your reward is your coach gets hired by a big fish, you get your brains beat in for the first round of the CFP, and your best players transfer out. What an incentive structure for excellence.

Probably the same as the odds of getting people to quit saying “natty”.

I think if we can pull in a Hawkin's type guy along with Baugh we are setup for the future especially with Cooper and the white boy.

I could easily see Bama swapping Coleman in for Ryan Williams. You know Lane will be in the mix for Coleman too

Is Hawkins a home run hitter? Based upon my thorough 2.5-minute analysis, that seems like the type of compliment that Baugh would need.

Also, Cooper and the white boy sounds like the name of a really dumb drivetime FM radio show. Insert fart noise here.

Baugh will probably be so expensive that the RB2 will need to be a bargain. I don’t think Hawkins will be cheap

But why would Sark let Flood twist in the wind if that's the decision that's been made? I'm just not following the logic.

How is Flood “twisting in the wind”? He’s being asked to do his fucking job, and hopefully better than the way he’d previously performed it, until he isn’t. He’s being paid 7 figures to do so. What in the fuck is twisting here?

1 hour ago, immamac said:

I would be fine with this.

Cam Coleman and Ryan Wingo are damned near identical players. Coleman dropped passes and had key fumbles this year and he also managed to mix in a couple of sideline tantrums for good measure, which we didn’t get from Wingo.

The reaction on this board to Coleman is fucking idiotic. He’s a good WR with a lot of shit to clean up.

There’s a part of me that doesn’t believe you actually watch games. Not just you, I guess, because this take keeps appearing with Baugh, but you for sure.

We are not getting two RB1’s to play with each other + Cooper and I’m not even sure we should want to pay for that.

I don't think Baugh + Hawkins is realistic. Hawkins will be more highly sought after than that. Maybe someone like Wayne Knight or Turbo Richard.

If we get Baugh then our RB2 take will probably be someone we've never heard of. Getting someone like Newman there would be an absolute steal. Maybe that other North Texas dude?

Also if we're counting Niblett and Terry as RBs then that's suddenly an overstuffed room. Portal, portal, Clark, Simon, Cooper, Walker, plus those two is eight.

Takes on Baugh are a good litmus test for seeing who does and doesn’t know anything about football. The guy is a fucking elite RB and a physical monster. You’d be an abject moron to not want him.

I can't say I watched Florida this year other than our game with them. Not gonna rewatch that because I don't hate myself that much but my recollection is that he looked solid but not like holy shit look at this 1st round guy. It was an honest question because it does seem that he's being pretty highly coveted.

If the reports from Tom Loy of Coleman about to resign with Auburn then going to the portal in the 11th hour are true + our 9.95ers not really hinting at anything definitive with a portal WR, then there is (are) another team(s) that are way out in front of us on this.

Sure we may get a visit, if he does visits at all, but these sudden change of direction moves usually indicate things are already pretty finalized in a certain direction.

Seems like I remember chatter about Nagy planning to tamper the fuck out of Coleman

Lulz ... Aggie 247.

On Coleman. And us. And them.

After all, they're ordinary (milk)men ...

Ridiculous that this dude won the Burlsworth Trophy over Taaffe

And it begins with Coleman

Nakos

Auburn wide receiver Cam Coleman announced Monday morning that he intends to enter the transfer portal later this week. With the move, he becomes the most sought-after player and wideout to enter the portal.

Coleman made over $1 million this fall at Auburn, and he’s expected to command well over that mark in the portal. While sources have indicated he will have a wide market, two schools continue to come up with sources on Monday.

Texas and Texas A&M are two clear early schools to watch for Coleman, sources have told On3. Both have returning starting quarterbacks, giving Coleman proven passers to work with. Sources have told On3 that landing somewhere with a proven starting quarterback is something the wide receiver is evaluating during the process.

The Aggies bring back Marcel Reed, who threw for 3,169 yards this season. Arch Manning is also returning to Texas for his fourth season after throwing for 2,942 yards. Both schools would give Coleman a chance to work with proven passers and compete for a national title.

Texas and Texas A&M are also expected to be buyers in the transfer portal market. The Aggies are losing leading wideout KC Concepcion to the draft, while Texas is losing its second-leading wideout to the portal in DeAndre Moore Jr.

The 6-foot-3, 201-pound wideout is a former Five-Star Plus+ recruit who made an immediate impact at Auburn. In two seasons with the Tigers, Cam Coleman posted 93 catches for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns. He repeatedly made jaw-dropping catches, including an insane one-handed touchdown catch at Vanderbilt.

Coleman's agent knows how this works. Tell A&M he is considering Texas, watch them bid against themselves to keep him from going to Austin.

Hope A&M shells out a massive $$$ figure to land him, at the expense of upgrading other positions.

If it comes to this would you do Wingo for $1 million or Coleman for $2 million?

Edited by Hermanator

Am I the only one who thinks Wingo is going to be much improved next season? I thought it was pretty clear that he and Arch were building chemistry in the back half of the season. I'd be upset to lose him.

Reed a proven passer??

Yeah, if aggy played a Sun Belt schedule.

Taaffe had some injury issues but also got exposed a bit without Barron and Makuba out there with him.

Wingo for $1m + our young guys and use the other $1m for RB, LB or OL

Think ou will actually offer cam the most money.. He's already played with Arnold so he will be familiar with mateer

You can probably get some bad ass WRs in the 500k-1 mil range to pair with Wingo, Mosley, Livingstone, and the young guys. Use that extra money for other needs. But hell, if they have money to throw around for Coleman and he wants to come here, I'd be happy as hell.

Yeah, if aggy played a Sun Belt schedule.

Reed has been so overrated by the media this year it's unbelievable.

He's no better than the 4th best QB in the SEC according to pretty much every relevant metric out there. Yet he was named a finalist for the Davey O'Brien and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Awards, ahead of guys like Diego Pavia, Trinidad Chambliss, Ty Simpson, Arch Manning and Gunner Stockton who were all better than Reed this season.

3,169 passing yards, 25/12 TD-INT ratio, 493 rushing yards + 6 TDs in 13 games is an incredibly average season. He was a decidedly mid-tier QB this year.

I don’t get only taking up to 3 interior linemen, that makes no sense considering how bad the interior is from a starter and depth perspective.

Yeah, but besides the problems with the starters and the depth on the interior offensive line, I think we are in great shape.

Reminder that there is a Biletnikoff semifinalist in the portal and it isn't Cam Coleman. I'm talking about Danny Scudero, who looked solid against UT and would cost a fraction as much

0 TD and 4 INTs to close the 2025 season with two losses sounds like a frontrunner for 2026 Heisman to espn sports media

Yeah I’d rather pay more for the 6’3 specimen than take a discount for the 5’9 white kid from San Jose State.
