"Fresh baked" bread should not fill a shop with the stench that Subway's bread does.

my kid worked at subway in high school.  He'd come home reeking of that bread.

I crank up the intro.

The Little Mermaid Yes GIF

Makes it hit harder when the guitar comes in.

One thing I enjoy about Devin Townsend's Deconstruction album is he has the mix volume only halfway up on the first track, "Praise The Lowered," all through the lyrics about staying sober, drinking soda water... then when he starts in with

Ah, gimme that wine!
Gimme that acid!
And I wanna lose everything that's policing us, and then everything must begin!
And I wanna do heroin!
And I wanna do crack cocaine!
And I wanna lose everything but release, why don't you just smoke

that

fucking

weeeeeeeed boooooooy, drink the wine

... the mix volume goes up and up until by the last line ("WEEEEED BOYYYYYYY") it's full volume limited to the max.

Great moment, though not as good as Neil Diamond

Appears to be mayo based glop.  Hard pass

Yep. Why not a spicy sausage patty or pepper jack cheese? I don’t want mayo with breakfast

Before they changed the ordering system I would get a double quarter pounder big Mac style.

My last stop at a McD's was about 8 months ago and they had a buy one get one free for the QPs. So I used a hack I've heard about. Got two with the sauce on the side and made my own double. It was alright.

I've heard good things about their spicy chicken sandwich. Haven't tried. I did hit up Culver's to try out their new spicy ckn sand and it was not good. White meat chicken with the texture of a stack of wet paper.

You were expecting a tasty spicy chicken sandwich from a chain based out of Wisconsin? I could have told you how that was going to go and saved you a few bucks.

The spice level wasn't bad. The problem is they use white meat. In my defense I'm in Fort Collins so choices are very limited and Culver's was on my home and there was a valpak coupon. I should've know though...their burgers suck too.

If there's a next time I'll have to remember to order it without mayo. However, the bun seemed under-baked and I'm not a fan of shredded lettuce on a burger. Also the cheese needed a lot more melt. InnOut's about 25 minutes from my house but I think I'd go there before hitting Culver's again even though it's 5 minutes away.

Another breakfast only McDonald's patron here as well.

Speaking of Burger King. The Whopper is a damn fine burger.

Havent had one since the BK closed on the Drag*. There just isn't one on any of my normal travel paths in Austin.

*I street viewed that location.. Holy shit, that BK closed in 2015.

Man. Culver's is elite. Way better than InNOut in my book.

Maybe it's location dependent.

Probably - like everything. That doesn't look good.

The one in North Austin was good last I checked.

I was just going to say. I’ve had Culver’s once - when it was the only thing I could find open late at night in Idaho Falls - and I thought it nothing to write home about. The co-worker that was with me had a couple of bites and threw hers out, which I thought was dramatic.

I don't understand the hate for the grilled chicken breast sandwich. Maybe yours wasn't good, but did you expect them to serve you a grilled thigh sandwich? That's not really a thing, is it? I personally prefer white to dark in my poultry and I appreciate the fact that I can get a pretty damn tasty grilled chicken sandwich from a fast food joint. I don't think I've ever had a better one than the one Culver's serves in fact. Have you had a grilled chicken from Wendy's or McDonald's? I believe that is Chihuahua meat, not chicken. It's a really good option for me if I'm in a pinch and need to resort to fast food.  I haven't had a burger from there in a few years so no comment on that.

I wasn't sure what they were serving up. I'm just saying that to me the chicken had the texture of a stack of wet paper even though it's called "Spicy Crispy." There was decent spice, but no crisp.  I generally find dark meat much more preferable but I was willing to try Culver's attempt at a spicy chicken sand. At least the onion rings were good, but they were rather stingy.

When was the last time you ate there? As of June 16 their chicken sandwich has been revamped and they now offer a "spicy, crispy" version. They don't mention whether the supposedly crispy version is grilled or fried though I assumed it's fried. But if you're asking if I've had a ckn sand with grilled or fried thigh, the answer to both is yes, absolutely.

If you get it, definitely 86 the lettuce and tomato.

Sorry I re-read your post and I totally misunderstood it. I thought you were complaining about the grilled chicken sandwich. I have never had or tried their breaded chicken sandwich. I last had the grilled chicken sando probably in April-ish. Minus mayo add pickle. Like I said it was probably the best fast food grilled chicken sandwich I had ever had.

Well I shouldn't have eaten the fried stuff anyway, dammit. But I probably shouldn't have assumed everyone knew they had a new version.

Hey sometimes you gotta get that fried chicken sandwich fix. I actually debated it last time I got the grilled.  I definitely had the devil shoulder trying to convince the angel shoulder to go with the fried. Devil shoulder lost that day but he'll claim victory soon in another category.
