Is Brandon baker not working at RT? This entire freshman class is straight legit dogs.

I think the point is that Brooks is taking Cojoe's spot as 2nd string RT.  Baker is the current starter

Two important players needed help off the field—senior defensive tackle Cole Brevard and offensive tackle Nick Brooks.

Fingers crossed these are minor.

IT heard Aaron Butler gets open with ease but is struggling to convert the play.

Keep hoping this guy will get over the hump.

Bobby Burton sure does love him some passive voice.

If Ffrench doesn't room with Taaffe we missed a real opportunity.

Is he related to the WR Shipley who singlehandedly kept you in the Rose Bowl game after Colt went down?  That fucker was money. Texas PK was damn good that night.  If Squints doesn’t get blind sided and fumble, Texas was one long Shipley catch and a FG away from sending the game to OT.

Then they typically go 1s vs 2s to start things off before moving to 1s vs 1s and 2s vs 2s, each in multiple eight-play spurts. After that, it’s time for 1s vs 1s and 2s vs 2s.

I had to read that a few times. I think this is what he's saying:

Start with 1s vs 2s.

Move on to 1s vs 1s and 2s vs 2s.

Only after that does Sark change it up and go with even more of 1s vs 1s and 2s vs 2s.

UPDATE (1:15 pm CT) - A source said Brooks was walking around after the scrimmage and “looked OK.”

Notes from the Texas Longhorns first scrimmage of training camp VIP

ChipBrown247

AUSTIN, Texas — Here are some notes from the Texas Longhorns' first significant scrimmage of training camp on Saturday.

The scrimmage was closed to the public, but Horns247 tracked down a few sources who were able to observe the scrimmage.

Here's what those sources said:

— Freshman offensive tackle Nick Brooks, who has been working at right tackle in the wake of Andre Cojoe's season-ending injury, left the scrimmage with what appeared to be a right leg injury. UPDATE (1:15 pm CT) - A source said Brooks was walking around after the scrimmage and “looked OK.”

— The defense got a lot of push up front with senior defensive end Ethan Burke batting a couple passes.

— One source said, "The defensive line is the real deal. There was a lot of pressure on the quarterbacks - so much so that they kind of let it play out sometimes. The front seven dominated."

— Arch Manning had a touchdown pass to Ryan Wingo, who had a good showing on Saturday as well as Parker Livingstone. "Arch missed a couple passes high," because he was under pressure, one source said.

— Quarterback Trey Owens had a good performance, connecting with Ryan Niblett, Aaron Butler and walk-on Rett Anderson in the passing game. "Owens was sharp with the ball and looked good."

— Quarterback "KJ" Karle Lacey scrambled for a TD late in the scrimmage.

— All of the team's top four quarterbacks - Manning, Owens, Matthew Caldwell and Lacey - connected on passes with tight ends. One source said the tight ends "were probably the best group - top to bottom - today."

—Manning ran with the No. 1 offense. Owens and Caldwell split reps with the No. 2 offense, and Caldwell and Lacey split reps with the No. 3 offense.

— Quintrevion Wisner, Christian Clark and CJ Baxter all had at least one impressive run.

Hopefully, the OL does better as fall camp progresses. At least they're cutting their teeth against a legit front seven.

Good stuff. Hoping Niblett and Butler make some noise this season and showcase their speed on the field.

Parker Livingtone also had a good day with two catches that went for over 20 yards apiece. On one play, each read the same coverage and made the proper adjustment and hit a nice gain.

Wingo and Livingstone were Manning’s two favorite targets on the day.

The starting wide receivers were Wingo, DeAndre Moore, and Livingstone.
