Yeah dawg fuck that. This isn’t agginem where we can just say “we’re gonna be good next year!” Every fucking year fuck that shit

He would look significantly better if he was not asked to carry the team in his first year as a starter. He was supposed to be a game manager this year, not the savior. How long did it take for Bo Nix, Penix, Burrow to play like they did in their senior year?

You know what a game manager does?

Hits open receivers easy passes

Doesn’t throw interceptions

Maybe he will get better, but right now he’s got a read and if it’s not there he gets into scramble and hold the ball mode. Then he just throws it as far as he can. It’s a prayer every time. He’s great when he just tucks it and gets some yards, but damn man he doesn’t operate the offense or throw with anticipation like a game manager.

Also the one play Caldwell got in

He bounced in the pocket went through his reads. Delivered a great ball anticipating the break. Allowed the receiver to get YAC.

I fully believe if Caldwell was allowed to finish that drive we score and probably get the 2pt conversion. Florida is always collapsing and doing dumb shit this year.

Sure there’s a qb controversy and blah blah but you WIN THE FUCKING GAME

Instead it’s game 6 and you guys are talking about how good he could be next year.

Do you mean what Lagway did for UF yesterday?

Yup

and I’ll agree that’s a lot easier to do when the run game is working and you have big badass receivers

but sark was scheming up open guys the whole game arch just doesn’t see it or trust it to just let it rip until it’s hero ball time

Arch is like Tommy Boy with his pet roll in the pocket on game day.  He cant make a decision.  Holds the ball, starts to run but then stops (almost like he has been told not to run and his actively remembering it). The game isnt coming easy to him right now and he is thinking to much instead of reacting.   So either we waste this season hoping he figures it out for next year or we switch qbs now. Id prefer to try and win some games this season.

We all are, Senor Self Righteous.

We're discussing opinion not loyalty.

What you quoted says nothing about what I said without the rest of the sentence. I’ll defend a Texas player over anonymous message boarders saying that player should be benched for inferior player just because the message boarders are emotional tit babies.

What's with all the cookies and Reese's Pieces?

Baked cookies are good. Reese’s Pieces are amazing. Mega-stuffed Oreos are man’s greatest achievement.

To win, I bench Arch and start Caldwell. It's merited based on performance. It also may help with Arch's choking problem. I want Arch to work out. I'm past the point of throwing away games to see that happen

To be clear, to win, you want to play a guy that was 3-7 as the quarterback for Troy last year?

Yes. I thought all the argument around here is that you can't blame a QB for a poor team.

I only judge by what I see. I don't care about the background of a person who performs the best. I don't even get why you'd make such a point.

It all comes down to who is playing the best not what they were doing last year or in high school.

I prefer winning to pedigree.

Because you’ve literally seen nothing of Caldwell. We have a seasons body of work from him and you think based on 7 passing attempts that he gives us the best chance to win.

If you prefer winning to pedigree then how exactly do you justify ignoring all the not winning he’s done at a much lower level lol.

I suspect your reasoning is circular. I really don't care that much. Maybe my reasoning is circular as well.

I hope Arch comes around. It's my experience that if the first team guy isn't cutting it, you give the second team guy a try. That would remove speculation and present a body of evidence beyond a single play.

I’m always amazed how people can watch a game not understand what’s going on. Blaming Arch for this loss is wild

The more i watch from the Florida game the more impressive Arch looks. He took huge strides in a short time to the UF game. He's moving really well in the pocket. And the term "pocket" doesn't really apply to this team right now. It's kind of a pocket with a mudslide flooding in to his left. But even when he has to pull the ball down and dip somewhere he immediately has his eyes downfield again with the ball ready to go. He snaps back into throwing position really quick. When his accuracy issues continue to get better this is probably gonna be really good.

He still has some issues but nothing alarming when you watch 80% of the quarterbacks right now. I posted on this thread about what he isn't seeing the middle of the field. I was wrong. He sees it. And referring to him as "liability" was not at all close on my part. Watching 22 film there's a ton to be excited about when it comes to Arch. A lot to be enraged about with pretty much every other aspect of this team. But calling him a liability was pretty ignorant.
