I'm going to withhold judgment until it can be confirmed that there were not any drag shows simultaneously taking place in the locker room while the photos of pubescent boys in various states of undress were being taken. And were those photos being taken by the deviant drag queens? Perhaps coach was confiscating them so they couldn't be distributed among the drag community.

I mean, that would really explain a lot. Conservative white christian men in positions of authority just don't commit deviant sex crimes like this.

You apparently aren't aware that he brought home a state title last year and his team is even better this season.  If it comes out that he had knowledge and didn't report it, most of that town will defend him because "he's a good Christian man" who was led astray by the debil and Joe Biden, but I repeat myself.

Unfortunately, the young man who reported it had better just move to another town.  If you are familiar with small town football dynamics, you know that he will be found out and persecuted until he leaves town or dies.

A lyric from James McMurtry's Talkin' at the Texaco comes to mind, "It's a small town, son, and we all support the team."

There are only a few things sacred enough to override your personification (football, Christian man...).  When your child gets sexually preyed on, it’s over.

On one hand, I’ll agree with you in respect to individual situations. But there are few victims here, relative to the number of football fans in that town.

No one gets let off the hook for that.  Prove me wrong.

Wtf.  Get out of here with that bs. You want proof? Meet me on the politics board.

Alright, Captain Obvious, bury the lede that CSA is a huge collective issue.

The last phrase in that statement of fact deserves scrutiny, and suggests that the either the percentage of victims is fluid depending on cultural/national environments, or that reporting CSA is fluid depending on the same circumstances. Of course the absolute quantity is increasing, as population increases.

Edited to note that Australia, a nation that is also relatively young and isolated, and which is more open about sex being discussed publicly, reports a CSA prevalence nearly one third of that in the USA.

I wasn't trying to contradict you, my main point was the second.  I just didn't want to be accused of minimizing it.

I'm not sure where internet porn, including the illegal variety, fits into all this.  The reproduction and distribution machine that is the internet has increased the amount and availability of all media.  It's certainly easier for the pervos of all stripes to access and share such media.  I'm not sure that it represents an actual increase in the amount of child sexual abuse.

It's like digital cameras, and then the internet, increased the availability of amateur porn, consensual and otherwise.  I don't think it changed the rate at which people were fucking.

I suspect child or underage sexual abuse probably also tracks with substance abuse rates, as well.

Our kids can't touch their cell phones during school hours.  Should be the same for coaches/teachers.

Imagine telling degreed professionals when they can or can’t look at their phones. There’s already a massive shortage due to lack of pay and lack of respect.

You think this.  And you're kinda right.  At least, as to how the families of the identified victims feel.  But you have missed this truth:

The rest of the team and the town are gonna blame the victim for "ruining Celina football," and "not keeping it in the family -- football is family!"  That's how these things work.

It's almost like everyone forgot what the Art Briles shit was like.  Baylor rallied around him, Waco rallied around him, Kim Mulkey told fans to punch people in the face if they brought it up.

It shouldn't be difficult to create and enforce a no-phones-in-the-locker-room policy.   I mean, that's the policy in every locker room that I'm aware of, from my local gym to the one time I was in a MLB locker room.

Fucking this.  We have a fucking Mt. Everest-height pile of such examples.  And even better, the more "religious" the community at issue, the MORE likely they are to brush it under the rug, excuse it, etc.  We make fun of every hoodrat type being defended as "he's a good kid!", but goddamn.....I don't think there's a more damning thing that can be said about a person these days than "he's a good Christian man."  I hear that phrase, and I immediately wonder "oh shit, what awful thing did he do?"

The post I quoted said “during school hours” not “the locker room” and it was referring to all teachers, not just coaches.

Drag queens and Epstein aren't coming for your kids.  That sort of abuse is statistically insignificant.  Your pastor, your brother-in-law, their coach, THAT'S who's coming for your kids.

Yeah, that post was stupid.  There's no point in prohibiting Mrs. Featherbottom from checking her phone during her lunch break.  But it doesn't matter if you're a "degreed professional," you should not be allowed to have your phone out in a locker room.

Surely you're aware of the countless number of southern baptist ministers who got away with diddling kids for years before the SBC released their names after they died.    A metric shit ton of christian men get away with pedophilia solely because they are christian men.

Stephenville is smack dab in the middle of the devil's triangle, or if you prefer, the epicenter of American evangelicalism.  Nobody knows how to cover up sexual assault like that crowd, not even the Catholic Church.

This is a full on shit show per local buddy… the 26 yo son is gay and supposedly has a boyfriend who graduated from Celina just last yr

the son worked at the high school then was sent down to the jr high seemingly out of no where

the dad got caught plowing the vball coach on campus last yr, neither saw discipline

A sophomore fball/soccer player at Celina committed suicide earlier this month (supposedly over gf breaking up)

if any locals have better read on things feel free to correct me

Oh, and teach your kids about sex so they know that it's wrong when Uncle Grabbyhands grabs their peepee or their hooha.

I heard somewhere it makes a difference if Grabbyhands is famous, then he can just grab em by the hooha.

he'll get probation is my guess

This is one thing that grinds my gears.  Child sexual abusers of the hands-on variety almost inevitably get taken into state criminal systems and inevitably get lower sentences than those who get internet material (thus the federal hook) and get into the federal system.

The states are way too lenient on this stuff and the feds way too harsh on a lesser crime.

He's lucky he didn't get caught using an app or emailing/iming/uploading his stuff.
