I know for a fact you're not new to Surly.

Thus, this question is really stupid because this place lives nearly exclusively on the decimal point argument.

110%.

If we're going CR...

56-years-ago-the-chappaquiddick-incident

Had a friend thru a civic organization of which I was a member.  She was 30+ years older than most of us and from the northeast, and had worked Democratic political campaigns for a time.

She and several other women were in a limo with Ted Kennedy on the way for him to speak at an event ahead of an election.

He joked to them “are you ladies nervous to be riding in a car with me?”

She said he was a piece of shit.  But she was a paid campaign employee so she kept working.

A relentless commitment to Intergrity… except that last National Championship. We’re gonna claim and embrace that one despite the fuckloads of evidence that prove we acted with a complete disregard for integrity in order to win games.

"Make no mistake," said Grasso. "We will leave no stone unturned, and any further action we take will be based on credible evidence and findings, developed through a rigorous investigation.

I looked up and read this dogshit take by “JR Gamble” who I assume has been thawed out of some Nordic peat bog and is now offering his Cro-Magnon views on sports and society as some form of elaborate performance art.

BLUF: It’s totally unfair that Michigan hasn’t fired this woman who was promoted above her rightful rank by the man she was having an affair with.

Yeah, no shit— it turns out that screwing subordinates and giving them extra workplace consideration leaves institutions in an uncomfortable and precarious place once the merry go round of blowjobs and great performance evaluations stops. And you can’t just fire the people who got promotions that way.

It’s almost like that’s exactly why managers are explicitly told DO NOT SLEEP WITH PEOPLE WHO WORK FOR YOU. And it’s almost like Sherrone could have avoided being victimized by simply not sleeping with women on his staff.

We need an IQ test before people are allowed to publish on the internet, a simple shape rotation type thing before you can hit “submit.”

Can't say I blame you

We immensely enjoyed the Jimbo/aggy drama and Riley leaving OU for USC

It's why CFB is still special - watching your rival fall apart spectacularly and making memes about it. And still referencing it 5 years later.

I mean to be fair Paige should also be fired, with a generous severance and a big fucking NDA and non disparagement clause.

Give her 2M and tell her good luck, forget you were ever here and take Michigan off your resume, we won't answer anyone that calls about you.

One presumes she either quit or is holding out for a buyoff.  I mean, she doesn't think she can just go in to work every day and be just regular?

Well she was obviously afraid to come forward about their non-consensual relationship as he became manipulative and controlling.

2 million to go away or 35x her salary? That's like the most aggy thing I have ever seen you post.

How much do you think the lawsuit is going to be for? How much reputational damage do you think it's worth to fire her and/or keep her around knowing she's unfireable?

Yeah that seems fair. It's a number no sane person would turn down.

Is she still going in and acting as Biff’s exec assistant?

it amazes me how powerful men are brought down not by fucking around, but making really stupid choices in who they fuck around with. I’m 67 and remember early days of HR meetings on sexual harassment in my 20’s, so all of them have been thru it and still risk careers.  I worked for a family biz where two of three brothers were fucking the EA and supposedly didn’t know about the other.  And she was not a looker and had a rotten personality.

the worst right now are the racism accusations because the coach at Ohio got fired for cause without much fanfare. Uhh, it’s a tiny school in comparison.  2nd, he didn’t go batshit crazy and go try to murder the mistress with a butter knife.

Yeah the discovery alone is worth avoiding. That would be a hell of a lot more expensive damage wise to UM than a $2 million severance with an NDA and a non-disparagement clause. That is the way to go.

OU is fucking up Bama’s shit, Will they still want DeBoer?

We had a HR director get fired for fucking the HR managers in the division. Mind numbing.

I’ve seen some of the race stuff about the Ohio coach today. Some people aren’t intelligent enough to tell the difference.

Sure but I still feel like if DeBoer loses this why would they want him? But it is now a game. Anyone’s game.

Dude she can argue, that her name has been tarnished and future professional prospects ruined by a superior employed by the University of Michigan who physically/sexually/whatever abused her. Likely with a mountain of evidence right there on her phone.

That’s worth a shitton more than $2 million

35 times her salary which is already greatly inflated? Not really.

Also as soon as shes employed or gets another job they lose any and all credibility with that argument. It's stupid. She didn't get fired. She is still employed, but she shouldn't be.

That's still a fraction of what they would have had to continue to pay Sherron for being a shitty coach.  She did that institution a favor.
