That was an embarassing & shameful move when it happened.

Particularly because it followed a trend that included "coachfran-aggyfootball.com" or similar.

The same way it did for four years at Midland Lee.

I will say that by the time Ced left UT, he pretty much looked like Earl after Bum used him up.

Also they can’t completely abandon running lanes and run lots of stunts. That shit worked last year with a statue but arch will punish them by stepping up and hitting guys or taking off for an easy 15

You two dipshits realize Mack refused to put him in that game right?

Cedric wasn’t beat up by the time he left UT.  He gave Michigan all the punishment they could handle.  He got into it with a dumbass bugeater teammate when he was in Chicago and never got on track there.  Then, he had 2 decent years in Cincinnati.

That's not what sets a program up for failure for a decade.

Charlie Strong was handed a Cadillac from head coach Willie Taggart at USF and went 10-2 in his first year. Then he went 7-6 and 4-8 and was fired. Someone convince me Charlie Strong would have had different results if he'd been handed a more talented team at Texas. Go ahead.

The problem wasn't Mack Brown. The problem was Charlie Strong. He was a bad hire. So was Tom Herman. Unless Mack Brown had some input into those hires, he's not responsible for their failures. It doesn't matter the talent on the team. A coach who is a poor fit is going to have poor results regardless of any other factor. A great coach who is a great fit is going to get great results regardless of the handicaps. You have to hire the right coach. That's the most important thing. The second most important thing is being able to keep him once you find him.

Yeah, he delayed us embarking on our coaching sojourn for a couple of years.  Which might have led to someone other than Strong, someone better or worse, Herman too, maybe.  But that's all speculation; the only thing he really did was prolong the Mack Brown agony for a couple or three unnecessary years.

Hell, if you're going to play the speculation game, without that delay, Sarkisian wouldn't have been available/ready.

Blaming him for our long malaise is a causation fallacy, as you note.

I remain kinda mad at him though, because he turned out to be such a turd after convincing me he really was one of the good guys.

Didn’t Ced hyper extend his knee at the beginning of the Mich game and not really carry the ball much? VY had like 300 yards rushing.

I just realized Ted Knight was only a few months older than I am now when that was filmed.  Ouch.

Wait until you find out he only lived another 6 years.

It was his low water mark for the season, but a pretty fucking solid effort that year...
