Someone posted last night about us bottoming out last night but I, unfortunately, think that happens today.  Can see JV giving up a bunch of homeruns and offense not mustering anything once we get past Alvarez. team needs to come home asap and get their heart back in place, by that I mean Springer. I hope I'm wrong but Gods of baseball are tough to overcome when things not in your favor.

Hope I'm wrong, obviously, so let's go boys

Even after the horrid week, we're only 2 games behind the Twins and 1 game behind the Yankees... and hold the tiebreaker over them. We split the 6 games against the Twins. At the end of the year I'm guessing this will be no more than a blip on the whole season.

Was checking out the remainder-of-season projections on Fangraphs for Yordan. They have one ("Depth Charts") that combines ZIPS and Steamer (two different sources). Here's the projection:

.263/.334/.486 & 15 HR (projected for 70 games). That .820 OPS puts him in the same general area as Voglebach, Choo and Khris Davis among DHs (in terms of ROS projections). I know it seems like he can surpass those numbers based on his start, but man...if he simply meets those numbers - which seems very reasonable - it's a huge, ongoing boost to the lineup.

Just for context - guys with OPS near .820 right now include Bryce Harper, Justin Turner, Corey Seager, DJ LeMahieu, Eddie Rosario. Not bad.

So barring injury and hearing Lunhow say they will get Tucker up and that “he’s going to be a monster his second time up”, who gets moved?  Jake?  Reddick?  Will we make a move for Jose Abreu or a SP that includes one of them?

When the injured guys are back, I don't see a spot for Tucker until the rosters expand. You've got Springer, Brantley, Reddick, Alvarez, Marisnick and Kemp as guys to fill 3 OF spots and a DH spot.

Marisnick is the best defensive OF we've got. He's not going anywhere. In theory Tucker would replace Reddick, but I doubt that's happening this year. And Kemp is more of a utility guy who isn't going to see regular playing time - so it doesn't really make sense to replace him with Tucker because it doesn't get Tucker into the lineup anyway - and they aren't bringing him up to be an occasional starter.

My guess is we see Tucker in September (barring injury).

White won’t be on the 2020 roster. Not even sure who replaces him as you don’t bring up tucker until early June. White is under team control until 2023

Unless straw lights up the world, kemp is under team control until 2023

Reddick is under contract for 2020, just a FYI

Right, I just meant that, in terms of 2019, Reddick's role is the one that Tucker would fill if he were brought up, as opposed to Marisnick's (defensive specialist) or Kemp's (backup/utility type).

Which is why I don't think we see Tucker before the rosters expand (unless injuries happen) - Reddick isn't going anywhere.

This lineup gets much better on Tuesday.

Springer

altuve

bregman

brantley

yordan

yuli

reddick

ChArinos / stassi

I would love if Yordan stayed in the cleanup spot and Bregman or Brantley was 5th to protect him.

That can't be right—he's going to have 15 more home runs by the end of July at the latest.

Bregs isn’t exactly who I want protecting anyone right now. I don’t have the numbers
but he may be the worse hitter on the team the last couple of weeks.

.167 average since the start of the Baltimore series.

This popped up today from a year ago and I bet you could see something similar on this homestand if he doesn’t find it soon:

I think you move Yordan down a spot (or two when Correa gets back), help manage expectations. Keep the rookie comfortable

Since Carlos will be in the lineup for only about 11 ABs before his next "massage" gone awry, leave the rookie where he is. No sense moving him out of the cleanup spot just in time to move him back.

Yep. Id go:
Springer
Bregman/Altuve
Altuve/Bregman
Yordan
Brantley
Correa
Reddick
Chirinos
Whoever else

On principle alone Correa doesn't deserve to bat any higher than 6 since he likes to be a dildo.

Don't really care the order of Bregman/Altuve.

I wonder if Hinch tries to get speed in front of Brantley, if only to help open the hole on that side when the first baseman has to hold the runner. We also know he likes to alternate the lefties to make it tough on opposing bullpens.

Springer
Bregman
Altuve
Brantley
Correa
Alvarez
...

Altuve

Bregman

Alvarez

Brantley

Correa

Chorizo

Yuli

Reddick

I want Alvarez hitting between brantley and correa for protection.  my only concern is hitting 2 LH back to back in the middle part but brantley can fucking hit anything. i would like alvarez hitting correa because if he hits sixth, you can pitch more careful around him to get to chorizo/yuli. you wouldnt pitch around alvaraez to get to correa
