As I knew, you’re totally full of shit. Surprisingly, you didn’t even make an attempt to back up your wild ass claim.

Oh wait what? I thought you were just being a pissant lol.

Do you not click through the links that people post? Must be a small world when you're fundamentally not curious

That’s not a Daily Texan op-ed. That is something a poster linked. Regardless, is this what you took away from Bevo’s link?  Lol.

Daily Texan is the board with that thread. The DT threads on Rittenhouse or Daniel Perry or George Floyd or Jan 6 or COVID or really anything that lands in a culture war are routinely cess pools that feature loads of far right demagoguery disguised as """citizen journalism""". And I linked to magicsoccerspray, not Bevo?

Dude are you ok? Smelling toast or anything? You're really not picking up on basic context lol.

Took me to Bevo. I can’t find anything MSS posted that suggests that poster thinks an expansion of what Israel is doing is good and should be encouraged. I could be wrong, but it’s not an indictment of Daily Texas, and any references to Rittenhouse or Covid or Floyd are irrelevant. Why don’t you link thet MSS said / linked here.

Well that's not where the link leads so I'm not sure what to tell you lol. Here, I'll quote to the post:

This is the post I mentioned that is literally titled ".... and the virtue of escaltion". It's endorsed by an election truther former congressman that now works for Palantir. This op-ed is advocating for escalation to knock out Iran in an all-out war. That's fucking insane and will lead to global conflict. But rah rah Israel! or something.

This post (and many in the DT thread in general) feature the Xitter account "OSint613" and they've got a history of posting inaccurate shit to further motivate the culture war narrative or stoke outrage.

edit: here's another example of OSint613 disinformation fuckery.

Dude.  A 9 yr old with rudimentary gear can do that.  Trump takes all of his calls on an unsecured cellular line, including when he was POTUS.  Bibi, on the other hand, is at least smart enough to know that every word he says to Trump is on what is functionally an open channel, so I suspect he's more wise and deliberate about what he says.

What was he trying to convey?  Probably that Nasrallah is dead. I haven’t read the article, and probably won’t.

Stick Around Bob Ross GIF by Originals

and this, dear reader, is how Rex is made. This is the last paragraph from the op-ed (that earlier cites jared fucking kushner as an authority on Middle East peace):

Quote

Israel has now shown its most important ally a better way. By escalating the conflict with Hezbollah, there are now strategic opportunities to go after Iran’s nuclear program. If Harris and Biden were wise, they would shelve their strategy of endless ceasefire talks and instead embrace Israel’s escalation. Because the best way to end a regional war is to win it.

The article is just pure warmongering and advocating for State on State violence, specifically targetting nuclear programs as a step of escalation.

Your attempt to connect this to Rittenhouse supporters and anti-Floyd people is so weak it’s laughable. I’m still waiting for your point here

My point is that the very fine posters such as yourself and FattyFlatty and JohnnySack/FrankDrebin and the rest of the illuminaries have a really fucking bad habit of finding the most reactionary and dogshit sources you can, and then catastophizing off of each story you could find for eachother. It's like visiting my grandma's retirement community when fox news is on. Nobody is actually paying attention to what's being said and who's sourcing it (just like you don't actually read the shit you're defending), they just know they're BIGMAD. I used rittenhouse and perry and the myriad police brutality protests/riots as a historical example of yall doing that over and over and over and over and over on the Daily Texan board.

No, I’m taking exception to CA’s bullshit comment that the Daily Texan favors an escalation of Israel’s various engagements. Sounds like somebody is upset that they have so much in common with CA on the topic.

and if it's not clear, I'm talking about the surly board that we're posting on not the UT student newspaper. Must be sniffing too many wellheads again

I suspect he’ll tell you it was for the headline. Perhaps he really believes the content, and y’all could have a discussion. But no, you’d rather get political.

Motherfucker, the content of the op-ed itself is polticial lol. They shouldn't even be posting that in the "news" forum. There's no news in the op-ed. It's arguing that the Biden administration is not doing enough and is missing its chance to bomb bomb bomb Iran.

There's no room to have that policy discussion on the Daily Texan, because it's fucking political by nature. Don't get mad at me for pointing out the turds that other people are pinching off in the punch bowl.

This is the social media op-ed in magicsoccerspray's post that I was referencing. You can find the actual article with a quick Google. I really am gobsmacked that you're straight up seeing a different surly from me

I don’t want to argue anymore. It’s cluttering up the thread. I’ll just say this: there’s something wrong with my phone on two fronts. First, when I get a notification to view a reaction to one of my posts or your link, I often have to scroll up to see which post garnered the reaction. Second, my iPhone simply will not load the social media linked in the post. This happens to probably about 1/4 of what people link. I don’t know why.

Would you like to discuss the content, or do you want to continue to just be gobsmacked?

Fuck you dude, you're the one that started this. I brought receipts to back my statement and now you're being a bitch about it. I'm gonna do everyone a favor and stop presuming you have the capacity to understand what people are talking about

“The United States has indications that Iran is preparing to imminently launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel. We are actively supporting defensive preparations to defend Israel against this attack. A direct military attack from Iran against Israel will carry severe consequences for Iran," a senior White House official tells @mj_lee and @ArletteSaenz.

It happened just a few months ago. Heavily telegraphed. I don’t understand how the Muslim world can view this as saving face. The whole world knows it’s performative.

It's not terribly effective at "saving face," because yeah...it's transparent as hell.

But when it's all you've got, it's all you've got.  Iran is far from the first mouse that roars like hell in world history.

Watching Tel Aviv live on MSNBC and it looks like missles are hitting the city but maybe they are blowing up in the air from the iron dome and other anti missile defense systems.  Pretty crazy watching it live.

The AJ story says the IDF reported 102 missiles launched by Iran.  That is a significantly smaller salvo than the last time they fired missiles.  The reports of simultaneous gun attacks in Tel Aviv and Jaffa are going to be interesting to follow.  But if that is, collectively, Iran's "response"....then it's well within bounds of what was expected.

Looks like this was a bunch of sound and fury, without a lot of actual damage?

But it did look like some of those missiles were getting through.

And CNN reported 7 dead in what appeared to be a terrorist gun attack at a train station right before the missiles started.

What's Israel's response...?

The smart response?  Keep playing the game YOU have chosen, not the game your impotent enemy wants to play.

Israel has been making masterful chess moves v. Iran in recent months.  Keep playing that game, don't be distracted AT ALL by theatrics and performative bullshit.  Iran just made noise.  Ignore it and keep on trucking, pursuing your plans using your intel as you have been.

I strongly suspect that will be how Israel plays it.  Israel isn't looking to put on a show.  They aren't looking to "escalate."  They also aren't looking to "de-escalate."  They have goals they want to accomplish re Iran and Hezbollah.  They are accomplishing them, and they are likely to keep doing so for some time.
