  1. Look. I thought we'd win, too. LSU, and Burrow, are better than I thought. The top tier in college football is Bama, Clemson, LSU, and Ohio State. Yes, our secondary got torched. It was embarrassing. But here's the good news: there's only one team left on our schedule who can light us up like that. And they probably will. But they don't have LSU's defense. I'm not saying we're gonna win out. But I am saying that you bitches predicting 7-5 in the game thread are bitches. Just like you were bitches saying it was over at 20-7. This team fought its ass off tonight. Sam put up 461 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 0 turnovers against the best D on our schedule. Jesus Christ, man. And in spite of all our secondary woes, they beat us by 7. And we dropped 7 in the first quarter. Yes, Okie Light and some others will score points on us. But what the fuck are they gonna do about Sam? Put me down for 10 wins. Nothing is fucked.

  2. Player shouldn't be allowed to re-enter game until conclusion of the drive they go down. It'll still happen, but at least it introduces some downside.

  7. good god what a bunch of bitches. We took a great team to the wire in a highly entertaining game, #9 lost to #6 by a TD. And you still have little sissies bellyaching about an early season loss. Our 2nd string RB is a QB and our 3rd string RB is doing double duty laying rebar for the endzone expansion. Either root for the team or go be a fucking aggy for someone else, I had a blast watching them even if we lost

  10. Thanks to the program of Alcoholics Anonymous and you people in this thread today makes 3 years completely sober. The days leading up to and immediately following this day always cause me to reflect back. It was about 4 years ago that I had enough and wanted to stop drinking. I was getting nothing positive from drugs and alcohol and I knew it, but my problem was I didn’t know how to quit. I think to most that sounds absurd but to my mind I didn’t know. I’d later find out all I needed to do was get off my ass and go to a meeting and talk to someone. I also knew I would need a medical detox but again how does that work? Just go to the ER, since I had not regular doctor, and say I need help. How does that factor into time away from work? I thought of all this as I laid in bed with shakes/tremors very similar to Leaving Las Vegas because I had been on more of bender than usual and had been about 7 hours without a drink. I reluctantly grabbed the vodka bottle because I knew it would stop the pain I was in and I didn’t want to call 911 and I didn’t want to die, so easiest path. Well I say I didn’t want to die but, in my mind, I think I was ok I was ok if that happened. Looking back on it I was doing very little to ensure my life continued on in general. Over that year I would have swings where I thought I was ok. I would have “good” days but in my sick and insane mind when I would have those days I would think I was the exception and I had figured out how to live as a severe alcoholic. I was not suffering obvious health concerns (I had gotten used to the tremors and anxiety as normal), work wasn’t an issue, and somehow, I had avoided any legal issues. I’m single so no family pressure so in my mind the life I was living was just me and working out. Something else I realized after I got sober was that it took me a lot of work when I was in my disease. A lot of work to make sure I put on my best face to not be found out and to fake “normal” activities to give the illusion I wasn’t a shut in. Plus, the constant worry of is today the day this flimsy ass house of cards I have chosen to live in finally crumbles down on me? I’m forever grateful to my mother for noticing it and ultimately pushing me to rehab. She saved my life. It was a few days before I surrendered that I took a weekend road trip to put on the appearance that I wasn’t a shut in and perhaps make myself feel that way. I would do that from time to time and all I’d do is drive somewhere, couldn’t trust flying because I didn’t want to get stuck on a plane without booze. But when I got to my location I would just lay there and get drunk but at least I wasn’t at home, right? Anyway, this time I took a nasty fall in public and didn’t have the strength to get myself back up. A very kind stranger came by and helped me across the street to the hotel and the staff there called 911 which I hid in my room from because I was sure it was jail. I did have to go the hospital later in the evening, after the scene in the lobby settled down, for a nasty cut on my elbow that wouldn’t stop bleeding. I knew then it was over. I called my mother and she came and got me and drove me home and pushed rehab on me the whole way. A few days later I surrendered and went to rehab. When I made the decision and said yes and realized it was really happening a sense of calm took me over, a high like I hadn’t felt in a long time, my fight with this was coming to an end. When I got there, I got a breathalyzer and blew a .349 and they called the ambulance and straight to the hospital where I then spent 6 days in ICU just to detox. They gave me only a 60% chance of surviving detox. Now here I sit 3 years later with a life like I never thought possible. I share this because I personally find strength when I hear others stories. I also share this because I see people in here say they are struggling and not sure what to do or those that have family and friends where they are seeking guidance. Just go to a meeting and talk to someone, they are willing to help. Don’t make it complicated like I did, it almost cost me my life. Plus, I also share a reminder to myself how low in life I was and that if I was to go back out I know right where I’d pick up at. Thanks for reading, listening and your sharing. It’s a great day to be sober!

  12. Herman took three points off the board for us and gifted LSU with 7 at the end of the first half. (I am not counting the Ingram drop -- only the second FG Herman turned his nose up at, and then running no clock on that shitty drive and giving it back to Burrow and co. with way too much time.)

  15. Easy fix. New rule: if play has to be stopped because you were on the ground asking for medical attention you cannot play again in the same drive. That shit will stop really fast.

  20. There were some genuine concerns entering the season about manning at several positions. How to replace LJ Humphrey's production at H-WR? Why with Devin Duvernay of course! #6 showed reliability and toughness in spades. Those are the two most important qualities at that position for Texas. He got tremendous production and made plays in key situations. Along with some snaps for Jake Smith, this position is in good hands. Who fills the vacated spot a Z-WR? Brennan Eagles obviously. He has the speed and the size to win a lot of 1-on-1 matchups outside. Probably an even better fit here than Duvernay was. More importantly allowed DD to move inside. Eagles had some big plays last night. How do you replace Beck's blocking presence at TE? Mostly with Cade Brewer. He was solid overall and very good at times. Doesn't blow people off the ball like Beck but Brewer created plenty of lanes leading in Power, blocking back on inside zone and getting out and engaging on the swing screen. Minor contributions from Beck and Leitao as receivers. Question adequately answered: quicker to the outside though a step down as run blockers. OMG, only one scholarship RB! Hello Roschon Johnson. That's Mr. Johnson to you. This kid was all effort and often outplayed RB1. Tough, no quit runner. Showed hands and blocking ability too. Are we SURE he hasn't played RB since 5th grade? QB3, RB2: Mr. Johnson doesn't care. Right side of the OL: Angilau and Kerstetter more than held their own. Protection broke down a few times but nothing too bad from the right side (one overload blitz and one stunt where Braun and Shack missed the switch). Could not consistently move the oversized DL early on but got good push later. Better than just decent but the strength is obviously still to the left. There are still 2 questions unanswered IMO. Field CB was a mess lass night. Kobe Boyce is not the answer, not right now. Not sure why J. Thompson and-or Watson didn't get an opportunity. Can Orlando replace Omenihu's ability to generate in-line pass rush? Coburn frequently got push up the middle while drawing double teams. There was not enough edge pressure to force the QB to step up into that push most of the time. Ossai would be a good bet at Buck LB. He was very effective as a pass rusher - a sack and a QBH while only rushing a few times. Coaches have made the decision he's more needed playing 5 yds off at Rover.

  22. So, if the NWS issues a tornado warning for the Dallas metroplex, and the President says that it isn't true, the NOAA and NWS can't speak out against the President, I reckon. This is what it has come to. An apolitical federal government organization, that only works with data and to best protect the interests and lives of people, can't be trusted any longer if the President feels threatened. Great job, you fucking shitstains who support Trump. You deserve to be flogged in public. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/noaa-staff-warned-in-sept-1-directive-against-contradicting-trump/2019/09/07/12a52d1a-d18f-11e9-87fa-8501a456c003_story.html

  24. Was at the game. On the third cramp timeout, two players were on the ground, when one player saw the other “cramping” his cramps magically stopped and he popped right up. The training staff that was running toward him immediately changed direction and ran to the other one and didn’t miss a beat. It’s clear it was planned and bush league but a great team should be able to overcome bush league bullshit. We were not a great team tonight.

  27. Obliterated is a bit much. They won by one possession. We had a dropped td in the end zone, a failed drive to the goal line, a near fumble recovery when it would have mattered, and millimeters away from the on sides kick recovery. Hats off to LSU for winning fair and square on the road, but I disagree with saying we were obliterated.

  28. There's some pretty shitty ass fucking takes in here wow. Our QB tossed 401 yards passing and 88 yards rushing. 117 teams in teh country would jerk off on south austins mom for that production. Our featured running back is a 3rd string QB who was in high school civics class this time last year and we replaced our entire defense with kids who had never played prior and we are a dropped wide open td pass that any douchebag here could have caught away from beating the top 2nd or 3rd shittyEC team and some of you fucks are blaming sam or saying we wont win shit under herman. dude is polishing a turd and put lipstick on this pig, LSU didnt win that game we fucking lost it on ourselves. 12-1 11-2 at best this year. fuck your own faces

  30. The cramping was rampant and obvious and they need to figure out a way to stop it before teams who are deep with talent just start having a player cramp every other snap to keep their guys fresh. There's literally nothing in the rules to prevent that. Teams who aren't using this strategy now only aren't doing it out of pride/sportsmanship. That said, it's not why we lost the game. For those saying being pissed about this is just whining about the outcome, it's possible to believe that intentional cramping is a bitch move (especially from a program that touts their toughness) and also not believe it's why we lost. Both things can be true.

  31. We had the ball w/ 1:41 left in the 1st half and only ran 28 seconds off the clock before punting back to LSU and allowing them enough time to slice us up for another TD. That was some egregious shit I've seen from Jason Garrett for years. I think that pissed me off more than the goal line decisions.

  32. That’s fair. But after 8 plays inside the 5 and zero points, it felt like Tom was a losing gambler chasing his loses. Perfect example: running to call TO before the half for one last offensive possession. If you do that, better not give the ball back. We gave it back and let them score. That flipped the game. 35. Both team's DBs got torched. People wanted to downplay it but losing the experience in the secondary and especially at corner hurts a ton this early in the careers of their replacements. Just like Boyd and Davis came around and became damn good corners either experience this same group will too. It's only their 2nd game of real starting experience and it was the first legit team they played.

  36. Haven't read up on this thread but 2 cents: Texas showed they could hang with LSU offensively. I don't think LSU's hurry up gave Texas trouble so much as this is just a young defense. Next year, Sam will be a senior and the defense will be a whole lot better and gelled. Texas didn't beat themselves with turnovers or penalties but really had to play mistake free football. LSU had some good breaks that they created. Kudos to them. Texas held their own and didn't lose face in the eyes of the voters, thus still having a shot at the playoffs. Kudos to Texas and Tom Herman. If there's one thing I'd say to Tom is to TAKE THE DAMN POINTS.

  38. The LSU offense ain’t no bitch. Our corners and defensive play calling helped a bit but the difference in this offense and say on OK st offense is that there are 5 or 6 players that are going to play on Sunday. Burrow came into town and dropped his nuts. Tip your hat and keep moving. Sam has flaws but his balls, heart, and guts make up about 80% of his body weight. Be pissed this week but this team can win the conference and make some noise. I don’t think OU will be able to do what LSU did tonight.
