  1. Gen X is the absolute best generation. Everyone else is a bunch of slap dick ass clowns. Last generation to grow up without the internet. We also know how to fuck chicks with or without internet assistance. We can fix your computer but also know when to ignore them. We also didn’t use our student loan money to travel the world and then bitch how we shouldn’t have to pay it back. Gen X is the most well rounded when it comes to employment, pussy, beer, and drugs. We respect others, aren’t snowflakes, work hard, and created great music. Fight me.

  3. And here I thought I was special. I sent the following to CDC on Saturday (edited for brevity - skip pas the italics if you don't care what my email said said) and accidentally picked up when he called me today because I thought it was my kids' school or something: I’m a member of the University of Texas’ Class of [a long time ago]. I emailed your predecessor, Mike Perrin, about the hiring of Casey Horny. I’ve been with our school’s team through great, good, bad, and miserable times. However, the hiring and retention of Casey Horny is more upsetting to me than any loss to Kansas (or Iowa State). I was also extremely upset when our current coach’s response to criticism on the issue was essentially “I just know more than everyone else.” That kind of arrogance (and standing behind a rape apologist) has no place at the University of Texas. Especially given the Longhorns’ special teams' abysmal play this season, since that is Mr. Horny’s unit. I’m very concerned about the current direction of the football program. I think we have now seen enough to know that Tom Herman is simply not the right person for the job. His insistence on the Horny hire told me a great deal about his moral makeup. I am also concerned that he is unwilling to make obviously necessary changes to the coaching staff, as the results over the past few weeks have been unacceptable - and not even necessarily because of the outcome. Instead, I am concerned with the obvious disadvantage the Longhorns seem to have in terms of coaching and adjustments every Saturday. The team just seems to regress with every game. I’m not a multi-million dollar donor, but I will tell you exactly what I told your predecessor, Mr. Perrin: the University of Texas will never receive another dime from me - whether it is for merchandise, tickets, or donations until - Casey Horny is no longer employed at the University of Texas in any capacity. Although I do feel that Tom Herman is not the right man to be our coach, the dismissal of Casey Horny would be an excellent starting point for a more moral University of Texas. In sum, I love the University of Texas. I would very much like the chance to donate some of my disposable income towards making it an even better, more exceptional place for our diverse student body. However, I simply cannot justify doing so until Mr. Horny is no longer an employee of the university. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Regards, [CampCrunk] [CampCrunk's phone #] And then CDC called me late this morning and I picked up by mistake. He talked about how they will sit down and evaluate every member of the staff at the end of the season. One thing he did say that I liked quite a bit was: "I was not athletics director when we hired that guy [Horny]." I hope I interpreted that (and his inflection when he said it) correctly and he's going to do something about the situation. He said that it's a tough situation because, although he understands the concerns, he's worried about "throwing the baby out with the bathwater." He mentioned that we've had three coaches in the past seven years and said that he doesn't think that just chasing a different new hot name every offseason is a recipe for success. He did not bring up Dabo Swinney, like he apparently did for some other folks. I'm sure I'm missing a few points, but I think that's the gist of it. Overall, he struck me a genuine, good, smart guy who is very concerned about the athletics department even though he (obviously) couldn't go into much detail with me. It's very clear that he wants to win and win big. I came away very impressed with him. Like my email said - I'm a nobody - and the fact that he took time out of a doubtlessly hectic schedule to call me up and discuss my concerns speaks volumes about how much he cares about the fans. Maybe I'm not a big Mensa supporter (and I'm certainly a Casey Horny hater), but I will definitely be pulling for CDC.

  11. Kap is now Karen from Accounting who is decent at her job, but constantly brings drama to the office. No Karen, we are not concerned that the cupcakes someone left in the breakroom are not vegan. No Karen, we don't care that someone said "Happy Holidays" to you instead of "Merry Christmas". No Karen, we don't want to hear about how your kid is not the starting catcher for the team because of politics.

  13. Kind of related story: A couple of years ago while living overseas the expat community had a get together that included a chili cookoff. The meat you could get there wasn't terrible, but it was lean AF so I made my chili with half beef and half pork to get the fat content right. Judging for the contest consisted of everyone in attendance voting for their favorite. Problem is, we had a sizable Muslim contingent so I was going to be starting in a pretty deep hole since those potential voters wouldn't test my chili much less vote for it. So in the end I just told everyone it was beef chili. Everyone tried it, no one dropped dead or got smited by Allah and I got 2nd place. Maybe I'm going to burn in hell for that, but I don't care.

  26. Everyone here should hope that Herman is forced to make major staff changes this offseason, or even more amazingly, he volunteers to do it himself. That shows stability and vision at the AD level, and an alignment of vision between the AD and the fans. We think we know what we have there, but we won't know for sure until that happens, and I wouldn't take it for granted like many posters here seem inclined to believe. Firing Herman outright after this season, much less a recent extension, would be a terrible, terrible look, although I'd fucking enjoy it personally and be keenly interested in how the search is run afterwards. But this would actually probably be a tough media pill to swallow. The only thing worse than above is allowing no changes to be made whatsoever, but that has to be with the caveat that College Football playoff in 2020 or bust. But the problem is, I have to think without changes we're losing a metric ton of football commits and players to the transfer portal come December.

  28. Currently guns are more regulated than cars in many if not most places. People like to say something along the lines of if you need a license and registration to drive a car you should need a license and registration to have a gun. But what they are missing is that you don't need any of that to drive a truck around on your ranch as long as it is never driven on public roads. You need a license to drive a car in public, and you usually need a license to carry a gun in public. Except your license to carry a gun may not be applicable if you cross state lines. And some places require a license and registration just to own one. It is a bad analogy, really. I am in favor of universal background checks on all transfers, but the Democrats don't know what they are doing (the bill the House passed it terrible) and Republicans aren't interested in doing anything either. Former senator Tom Coburn from Oklahoma, while generally a terrible legislature, actually had a decent proposal that would be pretty workable. Basically, a prospective gun buyer would call or log into an online portal and enter their information. If they passed the NICS background check, they would get a code that they could present to the seller that would be good for 30 days. The seller could then call the NICS hotline and give the code as well as the name off of the buyer's ID and confirm that the buyer was eligible to purchase the gun. No inconvenience of having to drive to an FFL and pay money for a transfer and no real potential for abuse by people trying to pry into someone else's private life. It could be easily done even if you wanted to let your buddy borrow a gun for a hunting trip so he could see if he likes it enough to buy one. It just made sense, especially compared to how we do things now. But only like two other senators supported it. The Pubs didn't like it because gun control, and the Dems didn't like it because it didn't leave enough of a trail of paperwork (of course that could easily be fixed by providing forms for sellers to fill out and keep). Neither side is really interested in solving the problem in a way that works. The same thing happens often with red flag law proposals. It's either no due process or nothing at all. Nobody in Washington is actually serious about trying to find solutions that will help reduce gun violence without trampling all over somebody else's rights. To be fair, this isn't just a problem with gun rights, it's a problem with every issue that folks disagree with in our government right now. As gun owners, we need to come to the table with workable proposals that will help reduce this crap without unduly burdening us. If the gun control advocates aren't willing to look at things from another prospective and refuse, then the blood is on their hands. As it is right now, blood is on everybody's hands.

  29. LmAo. Fuck off you self righteous bitch. I don’t give a shit if he wants to stand kneel or squat. It’s his fucking right to do so. And it is the NFL’s right to tell him to fuck off. Im offended by his shitty QB play. It’s white knights like yourself who want to keep him a victim and getting paid. As you project all over this thread, YOU are the one OUTRAGED that Kap doesn’t have a job and people don’t give a shit about him. You are the only person in this thread NOT talking about football.

  30. I once again confronted that shifty Polack Del Conte outside the ISU stadium. I shouted "Face me Conte, you coward" and I drove my scooter up to him and took off my glove and slapped his wife in the face before security could tackle me. As he ran away, I yelled after him "Run all you like Picante, thanks to Surly I now have your email and phone number, you haven't heard the last from Bob Wheeler!"
