My wife was looking for something the other day and came across a cuckoo clock that her sister had bought for her as a gift 20 something years ago. She immediately goes into, "Where am I going to put this cuckoo clock?" mode. She furiously searches the house for 6 square inches of unused wall space, which is no easy task. She eventually decides to stick it in the guest bathroom. Then she decides that it would look too busy in there with the wallpaper. Then she starts really looking at the cuckoo clock more closely, and comes to the realization that it kinda sucks, is too small and rather cheap looking. Then of course she decides she needs to shop for a new cuckoo clock and eventually buys one. Then the new cuckoo clock shows up in the mail and now she can't figure out where she wants to hang it up. Again.31 points

I worked a couple years in a courthouse that served primarily a Latino area of town. All criminal fillings were misdemeanors in this particular courthouse. What I saw was a systematic war waged on that community. I saw hundreds (yes hundreds) of criminal arrests that began with stops for bicycle code violations - riding the wrong way on the street, riding a bike on a sidewalk, or riding without a headlight. I saw pretextual stops of both pedestrians and cars daily. I saw police and sheriffs routinely lie in reports. I caught two cops on the stand committing perjury. When they realized they were busted (by their own dashcam nonetheless) they laughed on the stand. Quick NG verdicts and cops were back on the street that day. Defendants spent over a month in jail waiting for those verdicts. DAs office does nothing to lying cops because their union pumps money into the DA's election war-chest. Fuck police They've waged an insidious war for decades. Sorry your feelings are getting hurt.16 points

Communities have been marching, protesting, lobbying, and crying for police reform for 40 years. Those cries were met with increased police funding and militarization, when not totally ignored. Now, those same communities are crying out "defund the police," and white America responds with "whoa, whoa, whoa. I think we're better off reforming and let me tell you why...."10 points

Great. Pack them in there. Two to a seat. Get as many of these idiots together as possible in the same place. Hold two rallies a day. Go all out Dotard to get as many of your cult members in the same place and as close together as humanly possible. I would ask that masks also be banned from these rallies.8 points

I naturally assume that every school who has fans as 995ers lobby hard for those kids to go to their respective schools and negative recruit us. It also seems like we're one of the few schools that has a lot of recruiting reporters who aren't fans of the university they cover. Then again, I don't know all the guys who cover all the other schools. I know Eric Nahlin works real hard to not lobby for UT during the process, and his focus is on the relationships with the kids and their families. He remains pretty tight with a lot of kids well after they left UT, and some of the kids that never even went to UT. Wells's only allegiance is to East Texas (mostly joking). Gerry Hamilton when he covered Texas never steered anyone anywhere. And then we have dudes like EJ, who was just as likely to shit on Texas as say anything positive and went to SMU. I think it was Colt Barber that worked at UT until he could get a job with his rape-enabling alma mater. One of the Clemson 995ers is a bagman for Clemson. I don't think we need to examine how Liucci, Brauniger, Perroni and the irrelevent Taylor Hamm have and continue to handle themselves in their lives and profession. The TCU and Baylor mods are both such myopic, unapologetic homers it's fucking embarrassing. Honestly, and in typical UT fashion, it seems like we end up having more people who at times have massive axes to grind with our program than try to support it, like say Bobby Burton. Edit: I'll addend that I realize how absurd the above can sound in relation to the "every school cheats except ours" concept that we see a lot. But I'll be damned if our 995ers just don't seem as prone to being homers for UT as we see in other places. I guess it's a pretty thankless and low paying job unless you're Ketchum or Burton and own/publish the website and get a piece of the subs, so who else would do that unless they're a fan of the school in general or want to sniff high school jocks and gas on with other children about the hottest new sneakers? But for the life of me someone will have to explain what the fuck Andrew Hattersly is doing reporting for aTm. That one makes zero sense to me on about half a dozen different levels.8 points

When you need some moonshine or weed. Cops always have the best moonshine, and weed at their disposal.... Just have to find the right cop... It's worse today. Cops are all tatted up (not a swipe at tats, I'm a fan), quasi military, wanna be types in swat riot gear, and looking for trouble it seems. They have a definite attitude problem being that they believe they have absolute authority over you, and can dictate to you what you will, and won't do beyond just law enforcement. They don't like being questioned, and will step up their aggression when you do it. It's time for a new model. I don't know the mechanics of it, but it starts with taking away power from the police forces around the country.6 points

Has anyone on here had such a busy day at your job or had a fun filled day with family that you just didn't have one moment to post on a here or another social media platform? In 3 1/2 years, the President of the United States has never had a day like that.6 points

Tom Herman and Texas football players CR'd the football. And they did it without consulting some of you about your individual feelings and your distinct opinions about which topics are acceptable in college football. This injustice is unacceptable and I'm saddened by what some of you have had to endure. The world is recognizing your pain. The actions of the Texas Longhorn Head Coach and Texas Longhorn football players have no place on the Texas Longhorn football board. Message Board Feelz Matter6 points

I wouldn't call him a ray of hope. I'd call him a self-serving douchebag who shirked his civic duties during Impeachment for the sake of personal gain and the protection of his Party. Fuck him. Someone should steal a copy of his book, scan it, and release it on the Internet.6 points

Something tells me that if Minnesota asked their citizens to vote to defund/disband the police it would be overwhelmingly rejected. This is the definition of “mob rule” and exactly what our founders warned against and tried to prevent. I’d move quickly to remove all sitting city council members. What an abuse of power.6 points

He’ll read some scripted generic “America is strong because of its diversity, and we’re dedicated to justice for all.” He’ll do it with a flat tone. His supporters will praise it as better than the Gettysburg address. Within 12 hours, he will say a buncha shit that completely guts every decent thing he said. Lather, rinse, repeat.6 points

He’s not wrong. I’m proud of the message the program has put out during this time of tragedy. I’m especially proud to be a Longhorn fan that also happens to be black. America isn’t perfect, and we got a lot of shit to fix that will take the generations behind us to solve, but dammit I wouldn’t want to be born or raised anywhere else.6 points

Of you’re keeping score at home, I stopped in today on way back to deer camp to get the blasted bracelet from hell for my youngest SIL. I walked into the joint and the 2 women behind the counter and one woman in front of the counter looked at me then looked at each other then started giggling and nodding their heads. One of the two broads behind the counter reaches onto the shelf behind her and pulls the confounded bracelet of the shelf, already in a bag and hands it to me, saying “we knew you’d be back.” FML6 points

I don't disagree that it's a trap, especially for someone like Biden who can't help but trip over his own dick, but I also think it's pretty easy to say that this is a local issue that should be decided locally. Aren't conservatives supposed to be all in favor of local control? The other way to answer it: "Look Jack, cops are given an impossible job to do. It's not their fault that they're burdened with the job of social worker, mental health professional, and enforcer of the law enforcer. The system has failed them and it's our responsibility to unburden them so that they can perform their job better, and more safely."5 points
