  1. it won't matter if his taxes ever come out. it won't matter if his taxes don't ever come out. you wanna know why? because we already know what's in them. since early 2017 when people starting resigning, we heard that trump has no organizational skills, no attention span, no respect for history or procedure, and only acts on his personal grievances. most people were like, oh, yeah, that sounds right, he runs his business like a 1970's mob boss. then it kept happening. articles quoting staffers from air force 1 talking about how he basically held them hostage talking their ears off about stupid shit, and trailing off muttering about cable news and obama. and how they skipped dinners and other events overseas because they felt the "food would be too challenging for him". and how they have to sneak vegetables into his mashed potatoes like a fucking dog. and everyone was like, well yeah, he's a toddler. then he got caught asking other countries to help him win the election. we read the transcripts. we heard the testimony. and everyone was like, well, yeah, he doesn't care about governing, he only cares about reelection and "winning" and having people like him. then bolton comes out with his book. and we heard that every decision he made in 3 years was based on the calculus of reelection, and as shocking as that should've been, nothing bolton said was even news-worthy with this president, because he's a fucking imbecile with zero experience in government or world affairs, and has no idea where half the countries are. and he fawned over dictators who said nice things to him because yeah, of course, he's a horrifying narcissist. then his niece came out with a book recalling all these terrible stories of him being a piece of shit, and it was barely a blip. because everyone was like, well yeah, he's a piece of shit. and now 175,000 people are dead, and the president is fucking with the postal service and tweeting about voter fraud and calling obama a traitor, instead of trying to fix it or show empathy, and everyone is like yeah, he has no ability to show empathy, he's a piece of shit criminal narcissist toddler fucking fraud of a human. the rest of the world just shrugs and feels bad for (some of) us. so let me give you a little cheat sheet. he's overvalued his assets in order to commit insurance fraud. he's undervalued his worth in order to commit tax fraud. he's not worth nearly what he tells people or what he himself probably believes. he owes people/banks in china and russia 10x what he could ever possibly pay them. he has dirty deals with dirty people and if he wasn't president he probably would be at the bottom of the east river in a rolled up rug. i don't need to see his financials and neither do you. and spoiler alert, if they come out, and say, well, exactly what every person thinks they say, then all the people who hate him will vote for biden, and all the people who like him, will still support him. nothing moves the needle. there is no needle. he sold it to buy greenland.

  2. This is not intended to be a spam thread, rather a thread for those who are believers to unite, throw prayer requests (and know they'll actually be taken), talk scripture, etc. I've recently recommitted my life to Christ, this time for good (39 years old). As a recovering alcoholic, I know it's one day at a time. Today I am sober, and today I choose to follow Christ.

  7. Are you all following the beef between Steve Schmidt and Ted Cruz et al on Twitter and I missed seeing it somewhere? It is fascinating. I think The Lincoln Project is getting under certain people's skin and it's showing. It started with this: Steve Schmidt saw that and commented with this: And then, Ted Cruz joined in to defend Rubio: And then Steve sat down and began to type furiously and I have spoilered it because it is glorious but loooong. Do read it, the end is worth it.

  8. Cmon 'ballgame' boy. This stat you started your post with is bullshit and you know it. The CDC estimates only 10% of actual cases are actually "known" so your math is already completely fucked. Then, as you are also well aware unless you are just a fucking idiot, the death rate for those in the 18-22 range is virtually zero. So, your conclusion, as it relates to players at least, is flat out false. The likelihood of any college football player dying from COVID is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY. But let's go a step further, do you think a college football player is more likely to become infected with COVID in a structured program with football responsibilities where those they spend 90% of their time with are being tested 3X per week or are they more likely to get it learning virtually like the rest of the students but with a shit load of free time? Because I'm sure 18-22 shelter in place on the reg, right? In sum, this post, like just about everything you post, is fucking idiotic. I swear some people have flat out lost the ability to critically analyze risk. And I'm talking about educated college football writers. Not morons like Greenspoint. I think my posting history in the COVID threads speaks for itself as I've taken this very seriously. But posters like you that have zero ability to stratify risks based on the data drive me crazy. If you want to talk about the risk for coaches that's a completely different discussion. I think coaches/staff should absolutely be able to opt out if they wish without penalty (just like players can). Per CDC, the risk of death is 10X higher for those 40-49 (compared to under 30), 30X higher once you hit 50 and 90X higher once you hit 65. Coaches and staff are those most at risk from having a football season. Of course, unless they are electing to shelter in place, I'm not sure they are increasing their risk of catching the disease much given the protocols in place.

  15. - Barton doesn't care which conferences are dropping out, he just wants some football. Thinks a fall+spring season would be best, skeptical it can be pulled off. - Quinn Ewers is the best QB since Trevor Lawrence, in Barton Simmons' mind. Obscene sophomore numbers. He's not a 'reluctant' No. 1, but an emphatic one. Resume, pedigree, ability, production are all superb. - Ewers' commitment is an immensely positive indicator for the future of Texas football. Texas is one of those programs that cannot function without a good QB, they peaked with VY + Colt but fell off afterwards because of how QB-dependent the program is. Ehlinger arriving on campus was the turning point after the Strong debacle, he's put Texas on solid footing heading into his last year. - Elliott doesn't think Ehlinger is an NFL guy, but he likes Card and JQJ picking up the role moving forward. Not counting out Casey Thompson. Confidence-inspiring line of succession that ends with Quinn Ewers, who will be ready to play as a true freshman. If he sits his first year, it'll be the same way Lawrence sat. Once he's under-center, Texas will have a national championship ceiling. - Even with Milroe gone, Texas has one of the deeper QB rooms in the country and the best QB succession plan in all of college football. If Texas truly wants to be back, QB is where it starts. - Bud Elliott thinks Ewers could potentially save Herman's tenure at Texas. Zero chance he busts. Elliott is skeptical of Texas' recent coordinator changes, he thinks the Covid outbreak has set them back installing their schemes. But Ewers' commitment is huge news for Herman. The chance at least one superstar is in the Texas QB room once Ehlinger leaves is great. - Elliott is now all-in on Texas, after being unsure re: Herman's future. Emphasizes again how QB-driven Texas football is. - The 2005 Texas team was crazy talented. Took a phenomenal effort from the No. 1 player in CFB to win the game. That's where the margins are in CFB right now. If you don't have a QB that can carry a team, you won't win it all. The last non-Nick Saban team to win a natty with just a decent QB was 2007 LSU with Jarrett Lee (and they had two losses!). - Herman isn't Saban, who can use clever tricks like oversigning and skirting NCAA rules to build an elite team. He needs a QB who can put the team on his back in order to succeed. - Simmons thought Milroe was going to be caught up in the wash, sandwiched between Card/JQJ and Ewers. He felt Milroe was an "after-the-guy" QB, in the sense that he's talented, athletic, etc. but was going to be raw coming in and therefore probably wouldn't have gotten an opportunity at UT. He goes to Alabama, which is a much better fit for him because he'll be able to sit for a couple of years behind Bryce Young before seeing the field. The move made sense for him. - It's really tough to get a high-quality QB before and after a prospect like Quinn Ewers. Kids like to compete, but they're also realistic. It's hard to be ahead of a QB like Ewers, or behind a prospect like Bryce Young. No other QB on Ewers' level exists in the 2022 class that Alabama can sign, so Milroe's safe there. - Alabama is #2 after adding Milroe + Monkell Goodwine in the class rankings, two points behind Ohio State for #1. They could pass Ohio State after the latter lost Tunmise Adeyele. Nick Saban's always got a plan, he's been re-energized lately. - There are rumblings re: Herman not getting along with people in Texas administration. Elliott doesn't think he's on the hot seat, but he needs to make in to 2022 and so much depends on what happens this fall. He has a highly regarded roster, the talent should be there. Bijan on offense, a ton of talented DBs, Ossai as a edge rusher, lots of former Top 100 receivers. Elliott thinks Texas has to be in the Big 12 title game, else Herman is teetering on the edge and the pressure's on in 2021. - Lot still depends on how Yurcich and Ash work out. They could stabilize things a bit, but it's still touch-and-go. If Herman can just make it to 2022, he'll be off-and-running with Ewers as his QB. Meanwhile blOU is still having defensive issues with arrests and suspensions, there's reason to be bullish on Texas. But TCU, Okie Lite are still threats, and Herman has shown he can't easily dominate other Big 12 programs like Riley can at blOU. - Don't see A&M, Auburn, LSU, Bama, etc. losing to a Kentucky, or an Ole Miss (he later took back A&M). No potential for mid-tier teams to play spoiler in the SEC. But in the Big 12 the margins are thinner, with the exception of blOU. Texas will have to be careful. - Elliott thinks four combined losses will be in the Big 12 title game. Two 8-2 teams, most likely blOU and Texas. Won't be the case in the SEC because of how the schedule is set up to favour the strongest squads. - Bla bla bla, non-Texas stuff.

  16. I was already voting for Joe Biden or anyone else who ran against Donald Trump. I said all through the primaries that Biden was the right choice because he polled the best against Trump. Pete was my favorite, and Kamala second, but I hoped it would be Biden because it CAN'T be Trump and Biden gave us the best chance. But now I'm actually excited about voting for Joe Biden. That's mission accomplished right there. Well, well done.

  17. Here is some mortality data. Will work to add more applicable age groups as it seems that everyone reports it differently (in terms of age group buckets they use) Travis County - 10 - 19 years old: 0.05% Mortality Rate, 20-29: 0.03% Mortality Rate (As of 8/15 - Travis County runs week in appears) 49 states + NYC (from American Academy of Pediatricians & Children's Hospital Association) - This report uses a 0-18 to 20 age range (depending on state) - The mortality rate this report shows is 0.02% - The highest rate for any state is 0.03% and 20 states have had zero child deaths. https://downloads.aap.org/AAP/PDF/AAP and CHA - Children and COVID-19 State Data Report 8.13.20 FINAL v2.pdf The CDC as of 8/19 for the 18-29 age group shows a total # of deaths from CV19 of 644. Cases are 862,203. Mortality Rate for the 18-29 age group is 0.07%. This data set is incomplete in aggregate as I think some cases are excluded as they don't have age captured. But it is directional. https://www.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/index.html#demographics There are as I mention a number of ways that people are reporting the age groups mortality information but none of them, whichever you choose to use go above 1%. Most are well below. I would also argue that there have been ZERO studies done of mortality rate of truly physically fit young people (such as football players) whereas there was a report released last week in the Annals of Internal Medicine that shows absolutely that BMI scores >30 (and especially 40+) cause between ~2x to 12x (30 - 45BMI spread) likelihood of dying from CV19. I am not advocating for playing. I will say though that the data (ONLY in terms of mortality) shows a very low chance of a player dying. That is NOT to say there couldn't be other long term impacts to player health and safety. I would argue though that if you are having students on campus in any form you have already thrown that concern out the window. The point I would make is I do believe that players at Tier1 schools that can afford rapid testing and top flight care have their players in a much better spot than a typical student. The argument to me is not whether or not you play football but to me it is do you allow schools to be open at all. Blaming football for "killing kids with CV19" to me is a specious argument at best. Blaming schools for trying and maintain exorbitant tuition and fees is the bigger discussion IMO. tl:dr - data shows CV19 really doesn't kill young people, but we don't know if it fucks them up, also issue isn't in playing football but in opening schools at all

  19. No I think you are. I voted for Trump in 2016. I was anti Hilary Clinton, anti Obama prior to that. I've come to realize I was wrong on many fronts. The first being President Obama would be the down fall of America. I listened to Rush, Hannity and the rest of the idiots on Fox News announcing the Riders of the Apocalypse would appear if Obama was elected. Guess what, we somehow survived. Then I witnessed the complete 180 when Trump was elected and given a pass by Fox News and the GOP. That was my eye opening moment. So 3.5 years into this mess and you can't see what a cluster fuck Trump is, and you can't see that he's in it for his specific enrichment then FUCK YOU if at this point you can't own an opinion. Grow a pair of balls if you really are a man.

  24. I do think they will go to bars and parties. And that will be the main way they get it - by being regular college kids. The difference is that 1) they don’t have a ton of free time, and the coaches will be making sure they have even less this year, 2) I honestly believe they want to play and they know if they get it they are out of practice and games for 2 weeks. You can mock that if you want, but there is an increased motivation and education to steer clear of riskier situations. 3) There also is peer pressure from teammates and coaches to not be the one who fucks it up for everyone else. 4) Most football players hang with other football players. Unlike the SAE who will hang out with 20 guys who unknowingly have it, the football player will know exactly which of his buddies are positive because they are being tested 2-3 times a week. Take away football, the desire to play, the peer pressure and give them a ton of free time and the ability to go out every night of the week? Yeah, that’s worse.

Cave was a dump, lemme tell you. Real seals wouldn't be good for a cave attack. I told the generals this. WE gotta get some tough, tough guys. These tough men had tears streaming down their...heads. "Mr. President, sir, your excellency, we're so proud of what you've done. Obamagate. Spying on your campaign with the FBI lovers." Anyway, they were happy I was there. They really liked me. Seals of all kinds have always liked me. A lot. What was I talking about? Oh, right. The SEALs said I led them like nobody ever thought they could be led. We shot that arab guy like a dog.
