  2. McCroskey, Setting aside some of the more hysterical comments, as someone who has gone thru a long journey of research and education on Trump over the last four years, I would strongly encourage you to really try to do some research before Election Day. We are all subject to media snippet sound bites that shape our political views. This has become worse as a result of media propaganda outlets posing as news sources. I’m a businessperson who has voted for both parties over the years. I’d historically leaned right and was thinking about voting for Trump in 2016 before I learned that the image he carefully crafted didn’t match the reality of him as a person or businessman. There is plenty of objective evidence on the internet about him. And of course, his daily behavior of lying every day multiple times a day, developing terrible relationships with foreign countries and leaders, and embarrassing the US globally are just a few additional items to be considered. But more importantly, go look at the specific results of his specific policy initiatives. He has failed at just about every single one. The only theoretically positive accomplishment from his entire administration has been a tax cut that kept the economy moving forward and reduced unemployment. However when you dig deeper, you will see that it was a gimmicky, damaging policy because it led to deficit spending of over one trillion per year in what was a great economy. If you talk to just about any economist, that was and is a very bad decision. It’s a temporary juice and soon we will have to deal with now historic debt levels. Remember the Republican Party is supposed to be about fiscal responsibility and they’ve completely failed at it. Go down the list of other initiatives. Taking on China is actually a good idea. But he’s failed miserably because of how he has chosen to take them on. Immigration policy hasn’t been addressed. Healthcare hasn’t been addressed and in fact he’s been trying to tear down the only solution that is in place today, with no alternative to move towards. The re-write of Nafta was just a publicity stunt. His troop decisions have been a disaster. North Korea and Iran have been disasters. He’s fostered more conflict and racial disharmony than any President in memory. He’s crude, unintelligent, mean, and a target of ridicule by almost everyone around him. A long list of respected military leaders and Republican Party members have dropped support for him. His and his family’s business interests border on criminal behavior. He’s had multiple members of his administration indicted or convicted of crimes. He has no moral compass whatsoever, pardoning convicted criminals and working to remove prosecutors. He’s enriching friends thru contract awards. He’s placed incredibly incompetent people at the head of multiple government departments. He’s lost hundreds of competent administration officials because of his incompetence. He bullshit the public about a wall and México paying for it. He has mismanaged the pandemic so badly he created the no mask wearing mindset, and has extended the life of the virus worse than any other country in the world. This blunder has cost the country $3 trillion and counting. By any objective evaluation he has been one of the worst Presidents in our country’s history. But people can’t see it because they listen to Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and Brietbart. For the love of country, please research it. The country desperately needs your vote.

  3. I know some of y'all get irritated when I talk about concern trolls, but that's what we will see on this board over the next 70 days. This is a board full of former old school GOP voters from the flagship university in a pink state. You guys are on the front lines of pro GOP internet troll efforts. It's not like the Aggies, where it's keeping the bulk of MAGA Aggies enthusiastic and voting. Instead, it's sowing doubt among former GOP voters, possibly bringing one or two of you back into the fold, but for the bulk, it's hoping to get you not to vote. That's the goal. They'll rarely sell Trump other than maybe the economy. It'll be about how the system is broken, Biden is too old, the Democrats are communist. This is the thought they want to foster: "Trump is the worst, but I don't trust the Democrats/Biden/Pelosi, Everything is fubar, I'm not voting." In 2016 it was "Trump? Uh....IDK...Man.....I hate Hilary, but she's probably going to win, Gary Johnson/Jill Stein is kinda kookie....but 3rd party is a way to keep my principles"

  6. No I think you are. I voted for Trump in 2016. I was anti Hilary Clinton, anti Obama prior to that. I've come to realize I was wrong on many fronts. The first being President Obama would be the down fall of America. I listened to Rush, Hannity and the rest of the idiots on Fox News announcing the Riders of the Apocalypse would appear if Obama was elected. Guess what, we somehow survived. Then I witnessed the complete 180 when Trump was elected and given a pass by Fox News and the GOP. That was my eye opening moment. So 3.5 years into this mess and you can't see what a cluster fuck Trump is, and you can't see that he's in it for his specific enrichment then FUCK YOU if at this point you can't own an opinion. Grow a pair of balls if you really are a man.

  16. I didn't have the chance to actually sit and watch the entirety of Biden's speech until the middle of the night last night and I would encourage anyone who hasn't watched it to do so. I am a lifelong liberal Democrat who skews wide left of the typical centrists the party usually nominates, so I have never felt strongly about Joe Biden and always saw him as an omnipresent Democratic senator who could be counted on to vote for centrist Democratic policies and put up the good fight when called upon. I didn't support him in the primary because I thought he was milquetoast and too much of a compromise candidate. However, I was blown away by last night's speech in a way that I cannot remember in my lifetime. It may be a function of the importance of this election and the dire circumstances we're in, but Biden could have mailed in a field goal drive, play it safe speech in which all he needed to do was not make a serous gaffe. Instead, he did the exact opposite and delivered what I think will do down in history as a watershed moment for our nation. I had no idea he had the ability to connect with us like that and he did so powerfully. Before last night I was obviously going to cast my vote against Trump, but today I can say that I will vote for Joe Biden. Proudly.

  17. And now we get to the truth. I made some more money so I’m going to defend Trump while we separate families at the border, allow bounties to be put on our troops heads, degrade our country on the world stage, hire grifters to work in the administration, actively try to suppress the minority vote, and shit on everything that actually makes America great. Enjoy your raise.

I think The Lincoln Project is getting under certain people's skin and it's showing. It started with this: Steve Schmidt saw that and commented with this: And then, Ted Cruz joined in to defend Rubio: And then Steve sat down and began to type furiously and I have spoilered it because it is glorious but loooong. Do read it, the end is worth it.

  21. The Democratic party has its issues to be sure, but here is a vastly incomplete roll call of people that have expressed either support for Trump and/or the GOP or disdain for the Democratic party. Often, they are promoted by the President himself or his closest officials and family members. David Duke (White Supremacist, former Grand Wizard of the KKK) Richard Spencer (Neo-Nazi and White Supremacist) Andrew Anglin and supporters (Publisher of Neo-Nazi White Supremacist "Daily Stormer") Don Black (Founder of anti-semitic "Stormfront" website) James Edwards (Host of "Political Cesspool" which is sponsored by anti-semitic and white separatist groups) Nick Fuentes (White nationalist influencer and holocaust denier) William Johnson (White nationalist selected by Trump to be a California delegate) August Kreis (Neo-nazi child molester) Kevin MacDonald (Anti-semite and holocaust denier) Tom Metzger (White-supremacist and former KKK grand wizard) James Alex Fields (Charlottesville Car Murderer) Patrick Crusius (El Paso Wal Mart murderer) Scott Paul Beierle (Tallahassee yoga incel murderer) Cliven Bundy and his supporters (armed insurrectionists) John Campbell Sr, Steve Doxsie, Michael Smith, James Greena, Thomas Michael Lamphere, Matthew Woodruff (armed insurrectionists that threatened to murder the Democratic governor of Michigan) Steven Carillio and Robert Justus (boogaloo murderers trying to ignite a race war) Robert Gregory Bowers (Anti-semite Pittsburg Synagogue murderer) Samuel Woodward (Neo-Nazi who murdered a gay Jewish man) I could go on, but why bother? You likely won't read a single link and certainly won't connect-the-dots to understand that a vote for Trump and the GOP is a vote for an ideology that is inclusive of white nationalism, racism, bigotry, misogyny and hate. And just so you know, I'm not posting this for your disingenuous ass. I'm posting this for anyone else that reads your false equivalency bullshit and takes it at face value. The Republican Party as it stands now is on the wrong side of good and evil. There is no equivalence between the parties in this regard. Vote as if your soul depends on it, because it does.

This is not intended to be a spam thread, rather a thread for those who are believers to unite, throw prayer requests (and know they'll actually be taken), talk scripture, etc. I've recently recommitted my life to Christ, this time for good (39 years old). As a recovering alcoholic, I know it's one day at a time. Today I am sober, and today I choose to follow Christ.

  31. Hey troll....you missed a big fucking distinction. While there are assholes like that in EVERY crowd, only one party has made that assholery THEIR FUCKING BASE AND PLATFORM. It's not like Trump and Miller are competent officials who happen to have done/said some racist shit or told a few lies. Being racist, mysogynist, fascist liars IS THEIR BRAND. Those aren't unfortunate attributes, they are the core identity, and they are CELEBRATED. There's only one reason to support Trump and Trumpism over any of the alternatives: you like those things. They are good to you. Because they are exactly what Trumpism is. Take those things away -- the lies, the demonization of the other, the grift, etc. -- and there's literally nothing left except some tasteless White House Christmas decorations.

  34. Now that I'm at a computer and have time, I'll share my testimony. First... sober since April 27, 2015. I was raised in a non-denominational, very legalistic church. That church has since exposed their own love of legalism, repented, and fallen on God's Grace. Doesn't mean the congregation doesn't still struggle, but their old legalistic ways have been brought to light. I went to church 3x per week and it was force fed. I had many "come to Jesus" moments, but my first true experience of God revealing himself to me was at the age of 19. I felt like I accepted Christ's salvation at that point, but I strayed and lived my own life. I left the Word, and joined the world. I struggled and teetered with "believer" and "agnostic." Never an unbeliever, but definitely questioned. I struggle with control, and I've never wanted to give up full control. Admitting my struggle with alcohol was hard enough, but not enough to bring me to the God/Christ of the Bible. I was very selfish in my marriage for 12 years (we just celebrated 12 years in July). Honestly, my wife and I struggle very much with our own selfishness and self-serving in our marriage, as I'm sure all couples do. Well, here is where God decided to say enough is enough, and lead me to him... Last fall (2019) I decided to join a group of guys in a Bible study. Very hesitant, and was there more for the fellowship than anything else. Last October I bought my first devotional book, and remember texting the group... "I can't believe I just bought this... here we go." God worked on my heart for months, slowly building a full on revelation of Himself to me. In April my wife and I had a big blow up, I left the house for a few days, and it lead to a lot of introspection, and God said... "Get your head out of your butt and start changing your ways." At that point, I decided to start working on our marriage, and my selfishness. 12 years of this crap, so my wife is/was very hesitant. Lots of back and forth and pushback from my wife, regardless of my efforts. "Is there anyone else?" I would ask countless times. "NO!" is the response I got every time. Nose to the ground, I kept working, kept reading, kept my fellowship, and God kept bringing me closer to him. And then... July 4th we're at my BIL's lake cottage for a few days. I was hesitant to go, b/c I did not feel my wife really wanted me there. I felt like she wanted me there to save her own face, and didn't want to explain to people of a failing marriage, and wanted me there for my own pleasure, rather than the pleasure and company of each other (if that makes sense). I obviously decided to go, and things were going "decent," and there was a little bit of connection. On July 4 in the afternoon, I decide to walk to the house to go to the bathroom, check my phone, while my wife was at the lake about 100 yards away. I had zero intentions of checking her phone when I went up there, but something lead me to do it. I checked her messages, and nothing. You're an idiot, ETB... wait, let's just check Instagram for the heck of it. What's this?... a message from her pastor. I read through the message, and I see some I love you's. My naivety and my trust won't let me believe it is anything other than a pastor reaching out to his flock... "I love you in Christ." Then I see some "Baby's" in the message. Then I go back to about a week before the lake, and she says to this guy, "Oh my gosh, he said he's coming to the lake on 4th of July. I don't want him there." To which he responded something to the effect, "It's OK. Maybe you won't have to be around each other much. I wish I could just squeeze you and snuggle you." At that point, I lost it. I confronted her sister in law (brother's wife) and she knew nothing and was appalled. I called for my wife and confronted her. I was 8 hours from home, and I should have just taken off and left, but I didn't. God said, "Run to ME!" That is all I wanted to do. I wanted to pick up the Bible, I wanted to pray, and I had no idea why. Was scaring the heck out of me, b/c that wasn't "me." I'm not going to get into the repentance and reconciliation process that is frustrating me to no end, but I will say that it has been repeated over and over again that there was never anything physical, and that this was purely an emotional affair. My own insecurities give me doubt. My wife said that from start to finish, this probably lasted 6-8 months, which lead me to back track and apply it to my own experience, and please take joy in this revelation. This is my take on it... October - perhaps this is when this "friendship" started, when they started giving things to each other that belonged to their respective spouses. God starts his work on me, and I purchase my first devotional book. Had this affair been brought to light, we would be divorced, and I would not have God in my life on my own accord. April - perhaps this is when the "friendship" crossed the line into "I love you." Wife and I have a blow up. She said she wanted to tell me of the affair then, but did not. God turned it up a notch, and said, "Work on yourself and your marriage. Get your head out of your butt." Had I learned of the affair then, I would not have been able to stay with my wife. I was not strong enough. Probably divorce, or a firm separation. July - this is when everything was revealed. God finally said, "ETB, you're ready. I have prepared you to deal with this, and to bring Me glory through this. Here you go. Here is what is happening." God waited until I was ready to repair my marriage for His glory before He revealed it to me. He put my wife through this for a reason as well, but I'm still not sure why. She has not fully repented, and is still burying things, but I have to continue to pray that God will not only work on my own heart, but on hers as well. I am drawing closer to Him daily, and our marriage is at a very slow rebuild. I have more to share, but it is a different problem, so I will save for another post. To God be the glory!

  38. Trump is a piece of shit and has bungled the handling of the COVID response leading to 175K dead Americans. How many of those could have been avoided? The number one rule of leadership. It may not be your fault but it is your responsibility. Trump literally says he takes no responsibility. In a normal election sure we could get into nuanced policy discussions. But with trump and COVID all of that is out the window. If you are still trying to justify your support for trump it’s because you are ashamed to admit you are going to vote for him.
