This was my thought when the insider ScottButter said Urban was a done deal. The only way a SC insider would know that would be for Herman to be in play there. Also he would have taken that job in 2015 had they not lost to the Citadel. Assuming for the sake of the argument that ScottButter and his sources are legit, I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that his sources are in the sports agency world given that the initial scoop that make people think ScottButter is bonafide was calling Gronk to the Bucs. The fact that his intel spans both CFB and NFL make me think that, along with a bunch of ties to Miami. Drew Rosenhaus (Gronk's agent) went to the U for undergrad and his sports agency is based out of Miami. Trace Armstrong (Tom Herman's agent) is with Athletes First and his home base is their Gainesville, FL office (Armstrong is a Gator alumnus/former player). He represents Ryan Day - and as this thread has touched on, he represented Urban until they split ways in 2018 after the Zach Smith shit show. Based on some digging, Urban is represented in at least some facets by Sharron Elkabas of MN2S. Sharron founded MN2S and it's a more of a music/talent-focused agency than sports, which makes sense given what Urban does now. Funny enough, the U.S. HQ of MN2S (and it's sole U.S. office) is in Miami. Just thought that was interesting.20 points

Biden is not Donald Trump. Biden is not going to make his AG investigate Trump or put pressure on NY AG to crush Trump. Biden is not going to call Nancy Pelosi and tell her to start fucking with Trump. Biden is a grown ass adult inheriting a crisis.11 points

Burton mentioned on IT about South Carolina and maybe Vandy as a possibility about him leaving even if he does win the big 12...could we really get that lucky? I actually pegged him for the Cincy job when Fickell leaves. Pegging is also what @futureman should be getting prepared for10 points

In the unlikely event anyone is interested in where the rabbit hole has taken me on this very productive day, I have done some digging and am pretty confident I've figured out who ScottButter is. If correct, I can understand why the Cocks 247 mods are comfortable going so far as to post support/confirmation of him being legit and having connections.9 points

Good one yesterday morning. Every week my wife asks me to buy a gallon of oat milk for her coffee. I don't like it, so I buy a pint of whole milk for my coffee. I was on the phone in the morning and accidentally grabbed the oat milk out of the fridge and poured it into my coffee. Which precipitated the following exchange: Me: "Do you want to take my coffee. I used oat milk by accident. I'll make another cup for myself." Wife: "No, I like the whole milk in my coffee." Me: "Then why do we buy the oat milk for your coffee?" Wife: "Well, I like to have the oat milk because we always run out of the whole milk." Me: "So how about I just buy more whole milk and no oat milk?" Wife: "Then what will I use when we run out of whole milk?" At this point I just walked out of the kitchen with my coffee. Oh, my wife is a doctor.9 points

Trump is a shitbird, but people like this, who know what he is, but still enable his fat ass, are worse. Lindsey Graham. Ted Cruz. Kayleigh McEnany. The list goes on and on. What a bunch of hypocrites.8 points

Who gives a shit? My wife and I paid ours off, do we also get that big virtual pat on the back that you feel you need? Discharging the debt will spur the economy and make you more money in the long run than giving you back your loan money. At least if you did anything worthwhile with your degree. But far more importantly, the idea is to continually improve society. You are essentially being told that we can improve the world for people who came after you and your response is "No way! That's not fair! I suffered so everyone who comes after me should suffer too!" That's a disturbingly terrible attitude.8 points

"It's already all out there. You know it. They know it. Fake news knows it, they tell me in private. Dead people voted. OK. Poll watchers. And then you got this Venezuelan company DO MIN YUN. Take a look at these guys. Total fraud. And. EXCUSE ME. EXCUSE ME. AND. we are taking a hard look at it. Trust me. You will see soon. Bad stuff. Crooked people out there. But we caught them red handed. Caught them, just like Comey and Obama and McCabe. Spying on me. Can you believe that. And if you all were honest you would write about it. But your not. And thats OK. Alright. OK. And ummmmmm Scott....Scott....you wanna come up and say some stuff about the China Virus.....OK Dr. Scott Atlas everybody...."8 points

Seems like there are 3 outcomes here: 1. Successfully interfere. This is a win for Graham 2. Unsuccessfully interfere but without consequences. This is a win for Graham. 3. Unsuccessfully interfere and get prosecuted with potential time in a PMITA prison. This is a win for Graham.8 points

Clearly Urban keeps swooping in during objectively disastrous seasons for embattled coaches and singlehandedly tanking their recruiting classes. Clay Helton and Tom Herman were prepared to pull in monster classes despite shitting their pants on national tv every weekend until mean old Urban Meyer came along and existed in rumors. That bastard.7 points

We make fun of OU for having to beg and give automatic full rides to NHS Merit Scholars to go there so they can brag about having a lot in commercials while leaving out the reason why. But while that's a tad shady as far as marketing goes it's still an effort to improve their student and academic profile. Meanwhile A&M is still in a decades long effort to balloon their enrollment figures to increase athletics donations. A concerted effort to make their average student even dumber.7 points

King couldn't have had a better last day. I almost questioned the decision, he seemed so happy. Hamburger for dinner Movie night snuggles on the sleeping bag with my younger son. Hamburger and a fried egg for breakfast. Lots of snuggles with the wife and I off and on most of the morning. Beautiful 70 degree day and milling around the yard with our other two dogs, a walk/carry around the rose garden park, and a solid sniff/inspection of our schnoodle's ass before they took him back. Lots of ear rubs, good boys, and love as he nodded off. Long live the King! Plenty of tears shed today nonetheless. But we did right by our boy, I have no doubt. Had a good cry in the car driving home and am going to start remembering the good times now. At this point, I'm focusing on giving our other two dogs attention. We took Gracie with us and let her give him a sniff afterward so she would understand he was gone. Maeby still basically is a giant puppy and we didn't want to overwhelm the vet's office during Covid. But they both definitely are exhibiting sad at the moment. Maeby found the sleeping bag from movie night last night near the laundry room and has set up camp on it.7 points

This is a comically bad take. Media is almost non-existent in this city. The statesman? No one reads that paper. The Zone? They have absolutely zero stroke. The Horn? They're beholden to pump sunshine as the official station of UT. I'd argue that we have one of the least consequential and impactful media presences of a top 20 MSA in the nation.7 points

I was never in a haze for days. I had plenty of days where I did not drink at all. I probably drank a lot less than others here or some non-alcoholic heavy drinkers. A lot of people may simply consider me a problem or heavy drinker. My career was fine. My health was fine. Etc. What makes me an alcoholic is that once I had that first drink, most times I lost the ability to control how much I would consume after that. Not every time, but usually. I would enter plenty of evenings planning on one or two and invariably end up drunk. I didn't intend to, but somehow, there I was again. I may be one of those who the Big Book refers to as feeling the first nip of the wringer, but I have no doubt that things were not going to improve. My list of "I haven't done that yet" was getting smaller and smaller. Sitting here with almost 4 years of sobriety (moment of extreme gratitude....) I still can't even imagine having just one drink. There is simply no way for me to be able to successfully moderate once I have one.7 points

Mask use talk not going away. I lived in the Middle East during SARS and MERS. No one had a problem wearing a mask in the big cities or when traveling. Is it that hard to put on a mask when you go out? If it saves .00001 it is worth it. Even if all of those who are going to die are Aggy or OU fans I will still wear mine.7 points

This shit is why I'm discouraged when I see Biden talk about how he doesn't want people to go after Trump when he's out of office. Bullshit. Go after him and any of the people who are helping him like Lindsey Graham. These fucks are attacking one of our most sacred institutions even though they know there's very little chance they're going to be successful. This is all to stroke Trump's ego and set him up for 2024. Fuck them.7 points

from that thread: I am feeling more and more confident by the week. It is hard to believe these heavy claims of seized foreign servers etc would continuously be doubled down by the admin and their attorneys in public if it was all made up.6 points
