Eat fuck you worthless virtue signaling cunts. Wake me up when we want to do admirable things like provide equal education opportunities to kids. Your Marxist cancel culture ain't gonna do shit. When a kid in east Austin has the same chance at education that a Westlake kid does we will have succeeded. Till then shove your optics bullshit up your ass24 points

JFC, do you dickheads not read the whole thread? Mrhog addressed this in one of his first posts, and it has been reiterated several times in subsequent posts that he has Cerebral Palsy, and is typing as best as he can. He's contributing, and being respectful, and I don't think it's too much to ask to be respectful in return. A little awareness goes a long way.23 points

Had to get an account to join in the frivolity a bit. I can understand the unbridled enthusiasm for your team at this point in time. As far as Saturday's game goes, my suggestion is to not give the points as of yet because the spread is likely going to broaden a bit. I actually hope Texas gets back to the level of its glory years. We have a number of beasts to play already, one more can't hurt. Saturday's game may be more of a battle on the field than it appears on paper. At any rate, be safe traveling. Weather's going to be grand for a football game.23 points

I was talking to my dad the other day and he brought up pro-lifers. Dude voted for Trump in 2016 and was a devoted, team-identity, Fox News-watching GOPer until late last year who would’ve used abortion as a go-to “what-about” argument in any political debate. He’s now saying things like “I don’t like abortion, but the new Texas law is crazy” and “Pro-lifers don’t care about life, they only care about birth.” It’s been a hell of a redemption story for my old man. Makes it much more fun to talk politics with him these days, for sure.22 points

I posted a couple thing in the Watch Fanatics thread, but thought I’d share some info here. My Dad played under Coach Royal from ‘60 to ‘63. He never started a single game, offense or defense, during his four years for UT. Back then most everyone played both ways, but he saw his time on special teams, like KO kick/returns and punts etc. To “letter” back then one had to actually participate in an offense/defense snap or play. It wasn’t until the tail end of the ‘63 season/‘64 Cotton Bowl that my Dad actually played a position on the field! Four years of practicing with others and never participating during the game for an offensive/defensive snap on the field. Every day during his tenure he was on the “scout team” at practice. During his Freshman year to help assist on his “scholarship” tuition money, he waited tables in the athletic dining hall. Imagine practicing with people then hurrying your ass up to get clean, so you can serve those you just practiced with! He suffered almost 50 stitches, mostly to his face/head during his tenure on the 40 acres. Yes - they had face masks back then. He was just the end result of Coach Royal’s practices back then. Coach Royal sent him “in” to play guard with about three minutes left playing Navy his Senior year. It was a position he’d never played, but just to get him on the field for a “snap” or two+. When they had their 40th Reunion (63 National Championship) the night before playing against Arkansas in 2003, they had a banquet for both Arkansas and Texas players with both Coach Royal and Coach Frank Broyals attending. My Dad was asked to be one of three UT players to speak on their behalf. Coach Royal actually attended my parents wedding in 1967.18 points

How anyone opposes universal healthcare at this point is beyond me. There is literally no argument that our current healthcare system is better than the alternative. None.16 points

My Dad was a caring, conservative Christian, a true "love the sinner, hate the sin" kind of guy. He felt homosexuality was an abomination, although he didn't target gays with any kind of vitriol. Then my sister founded a summer stock theater, and my parents would house actors every summer. They became very close with one Broadway actor who would fly in from NYC to take lead roles in a couple of productions, and stay at our house for weeks. This guy was gay, and eventually he died of AIDS. It wrecked my Dad. His entire view of homosexuality changed because of it. I was so damn proud of him.15 points

That is the problem, they got some of what they wanted, but it’s never enough. That’s why you give them nothing. Zilch. Nada. These morons are attention addicts. Giving them some of their “drug” is not the way to go.14 points

If the Dems had balls, this would be a great time to use the Conservative talking points against them. Let the free market decide! Biden needs to sign a executive order allowing insurance companies to immediately price health insurance with respect to COVID risk/vaccination status as the free market allows. Since anti-vaxxers are many times more likely to be hospitalized and require extremely expensive ICU care, this needs to be priced into their policies immediately. It would be SOCIALISM to allow those of use that believe in science and modern medical care to subsidize their choices!12 points

Yeah, the party that publicly supported letting old people die so the economy wouldn't take a hit doesn't get to wear a "pro-life" moniker.10 points

It's not. Attention seeking perma-victims want to create controversy where there is none. They're illogical dipshits and should be treated accordingly.9 points

Why do the duller Razorback fans who have come over this week think posting information that Texas has greatly underachieved for the last decade is some sort of effective smack talk or even a revelation for Texas fans? We've been talking about that the entire time. We've also fired three coaches because of it. It would be like Texas fans going to their boards and saying HAHAHA DID Y'ALL KNOW THAT CHAD MORRISS SUCKED AND YOUR TEAM WAS REALLY BAD I BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT HAHAHA NOW YOU KNOW.9 points

"My youngest son took an mRNA vaccine that works by teaching the immune system how to defend against a spike protein and that you can tell works because the immune system activates and eliminates the spike protein. Well when he took it you can tell it works because his immune system really activated while eliminating the spike protein and therefore he almost certainly has wonderful protection against the virus now. So obviously as you can see I would never get that vaccine because it works really well."9 points

I look forward to a time when this matchup would’ve garnered a Gameday visit instead of game in flyover country. Here is to hoping our programs are there in short order.9 points

Yeah, it's crystal clear their voices were heard. Numerous changes were made, but the answer on The Eyes was a resounding "No." Get the fuck over it and move on. There are no more wins here for the Woke Industrial Complex to be had.9 points

After that, we went into the parking lot with groceries. A woman in an Alabama shirt rushed over to us. "I saw that all of you were wearing Texas A&M Fightin' Texas Aggie shirts, pants, socks, and ballcaps. I just love Aggies and all the great traditions you have. I won't tell my husband, but I secretly hope our youngest goes to A&M instead of 'Bama. She's already turned down a full scholarship offer to tu. "Anyway, I just wanted to say how classy and polite all the Aggies are. I'm very upset that the SEC let in tu, but you guys will teach 'em SEC football. Your daughter is the cutest I've ever seen. "Also, can you direct me to the Sam's Club? I just can't seem to find it." She was really great. We walked her to the front door of Sam's. She wept as she thanked us. "So classy." I think she knows we're going to beat the ever livin' ever lovin' hell out of them this year.9 points

Double logical fallacy word score. False equivalence plus a strawman. I hated the confederate statues on campus, as I hated buildings like Painter Hall that were dedicated to racist assholes, and was happy to see them go. Those have nothing to do with the Eyes of Texas.8 points

"As black students, we kind of feel as if it's not like our voices are heard," said Al-Nasser Lawal, a senior at the school and president of the UT-Austin chapter of the NAACP. As a graduate of the University of Texas, I am embarrassed that this sentence was spoken by a student at my Alma Mater. JFC, do schools no longer teach English grammar? Also, as others have pointed out, just because you didn't get the result you wanted doesn't mean you weren't heard. Welcome to Life, young man. The idea of trying to get the Federal government to force the University to change the school song because you find it offensive would be humorous if it wasn't so pathetic.8 points

That’s correct. As relayed after it happened by someone who knew all parties. This and a few other incidents are what solidified the resolve on the booster end that Herman was unhinged and needed to go. They also joined a booster’s family on a private flight and stay in Mexico and treated the entire family like shit while openly bickering with each other. Herman honestly thought he could do whatever he wanted until he was “shocked” with the news by on his guys that Texas was honestly in talks with Urban Meyer. Dude couldn’t believe it as he lost 3 of 4 to TCU and 4 of 5 to OU, plus 2 of 2 to Maryland.8 points
