  3. One thing that I will never understand is what prompted the Russian change in strategy. Russia had a great strategy, and it was working. Destabilize the Western democracies with a combination of direct payments to elites/influence peddling and propaganda to the ignorant masses through Facebook et al. That got them some critical wins. It got them Orban in Hungary and Trump in the United States. It got them Brexit and has severely weakened both the United Kingdom and the EU. At the same time, threaten the Baltics and Poland with invasion and convince them that NATO won't do shit to help them. And demonstrate the point with repeated cyberattacks that show that NATO won't do shit. So the end result is the entire Western defense strategy is called into question. And for the former Soviet states, set up bullshit little breakaway "republics" supported by "little green men." All of which was covert and they had plausible deniability. And so while everything looked chaotic--chaos of their own making--the could sit back and look stable and powerful and ascendant. There was nothing wrong with that strategy. It was working. Shit--Zelensky had a 20% approval rating. His government was teetering. It was entirely possible that he would be replaced by someone much more favorable to Russia in due course. I'll just never understand why they abandoned that covert strategy in favor of an open invasion. It just doesn't make any sense.

  4. Well, if we'd be #1 with just Hill and Hale, I'm guessing we'd also be #1 with all those other dudes. But I'm no math expert, and I've yet to crack the recruiting algorithm.

  5. I can't find it, but when I first started reading shaggy this one old fella got mad at the mom jokes. Went on about how his mother died and was a great woman and that he didn't appreciate those types of jokes, and that his mom was a nurse who helped develop some of the course material for the UT nursing program or something. In true Shaggy/Surly fashion, the next reply was: "your mom nursed my cock last night." and I nearly died. I laugh at it to this day.

  7. Yes, and Colt left the MNC game with 0 points on the board, then Gilbert scored 21, so clearly GG was the better statistical quarterback, right? You should be banned from thinking, talking, or posting on the internet for at least 30 days. Take a long timeout and think about what you've done here.

  8. So, catching up….watching the video of the soldier liberating his mother’s village…F me. I will never NOT feel my heart swell swing a people liberated from oppressors/invaders. It’s in my goddamnAmerican DNA, I can’t help it. But to see a people who truly want to control their own destiny, and are actively fighting and dying for it, that’s the best of humanity, meeting the worst of humanity. And speaking of the worst, as every liberation reveals more and more war crimes, and as real-time investigations and technology reveal the perpetrators, I’m hopeful that we are about to see the largest series of war crimes prosecutions ever at The Hague. It makes me wonder how I can volunteer/help (probably not much; I looked at the issue a few years ago, and they’re looking for both foreign language skills (until we have a big Latin American war, I’m useless there) and prosecutorial experience (nope, not my field either)). But the boy is very interested in the field…perhaps some volunteer work/internships in the coming years. Of course, he’s already talked some about maybe being involved in some NGO rebuilding projects. Methinks there will be many opportunities there. I want peace for Eastern Europe. We can only have that when Putin is completely defeated, and Russian conventional military capacity is functionally destroyed. I want victory for Ukraine. I want justice for the war crimes. We are at an inflection point in history. A certain flavor of ethnonationalist authoritarianism is in vogue, and is reaching its crescendo in Russia and Hungary. A crushing defeat will not finish it off, not even close. But it may be the turning point - we may have seen it’s zenith. As we move into the next era, we will need to be deliberate about what a global worldview should mean (its pros, and its cons). But for now, humanity will need to complete this current era. It will be one of blood, and death, as it is proving to be in Ukraine. Also….someday, I would like to visit Ukraine, walk into a pub, and buy a round, or 10, for the house. Tough bastards they are, it’d be a privilege.

First they came for Bernie Madoff and I said nothing Then they came for Jeffrey Epstein and I said nothing Then they came for Derrick Chauvin and I said nothing I didnt have to say anything because their cases were adjudicated in the criminal justice system and they were all convicted after being represented by attorneys. Sometimes pieces of shit get convicted of crimes. And thats how it works

  12. I know we all saw it but it needs to be stated again and again: in a game with a Heisman winning QB playing for the #1 ranked team in the country, the better QB was a freshman starting his second game.

  14. I used to think this but I've changed my mind - I don't think this wasn't a change in strategy at all. Everything they were doing to destabilize the West was in order to set the conditions for the invasion(s) to be successful IMHO. The invasion of Ukraine and the planned subsequent invasions were always the plan. Putin wanted to restore the former Soviet Union's borders. This was supposed to be his "end game" and rather it's become his Waterloo.

  17. they offer repair services for their apparel. they buy back garments and sell them as used on the website (obv cutting into incremental new turnover) they also list directly every factory and farm used in their supply chain. yes it includes in asia, but this level of transparency is available from no other clothing retailer. if its all greenwashing, its the most elaborate and thorough greenwashing operation ive ever seen. i dont necessary subscribe fully to their tenets, but i admire the ethos.

  18. Here are some excerpts from WarChant (now part of on On3 if you have an IT u/p. I pay for one for my dad and finally got his u/p to go over to WarChant today) regarding Ritz Bit and their thoughts on him. Sorry these aren't screenshots, but I'm not doing that from a laptop. Spoiler alert, btw, they really fucking hate the guy. There are multiple threads about him. These are from the thread "Why is there still so much obsession with Jimbo Fisher" for which there are 50 replies: "Vangeezy Today at 12:51 PM #14 Because some know who really destroyed the program. Hint...it wasn't WT, Candi nor any AD who wasn't responsible for the GOR signing." "noles1996 Today at 12:53 PM #15 He is an easy man to hate, top that off with the fact he started our decline and was only our second head coach in decades. Luckily for us we had Bobby for so many years and haven't had to go through the carousel of head coaches. He will be a coach that is talked about for a very long time." "BobbyL Today at 1:12 PM #26 If you do not see what Jimbo did to the FSU football program before he left, you’ll never get it." "ShoeCatcher Today at 1:55 PM #38 I think it's partly due to the way he disrespected FSU on the way out. But more than that, it's due to the continuation of an argument that has taken years to finally resolve. And it has been resolved, at least among reasoning people: For years on the Noles message boards, when some of us recognized and pointed out the same Fisher deficiencies which aTm and the media have finally become very aware of, there was a certain vein of FSU posters who were quick to accuse any Fisher critics of being idiots. They repeated "he won a national championship!" to gloss over the negative facts and bury any different opinions of their hero. His faithful supporters forgot that the same issues with the offense that surfaced before Jamies surfaced right after him. They forgot that the very good coaches like Stoops who left Fisher en masse after 2012 had built that 2013 team. When some of us predicted that Fisher would continue to underperform at aTm because that's who he is, we were ridiculed by claims that we were "jilted" and "jealous"." "Allnoles 46 minutes ago #49 I can’t wait for the 30 for 30 show in a decade dedicated to the snow job Fisher pulled on the nation. They’ll show a totally average record, a slew of underperforming teams and horribly lost games and conclude he made more (for himself) out of a 2-3 year run almost any coach would have won a natty with than anyone in history." "SamENole 9 minutes ago #53 Jimbo is the main reason our program was left in shambles and it's taken 4-5 years to recover from the mess he left. Not only did he leave behind a 5-6 team (When he left) but he also stopped recruiting making it nearly impossible for the next HC to succeed. If you're an FSU fan that doesn't want Jimbo to fail at A&M then there's something wrong with you. I don't wish him any ill will as a person but as a football coach I will enjoy every loss of his for the rest of his career." ************** Anyway, not sure if this is interesting for folks. I thought it was. There is a faction of Jimbo Stanners on that board and they are getting run over by the others right now. It is fascinating that that clown still has supporters at FSU. Wow.

  29. I also think that Russia also thought that Biden would be too weak to lead a response and that Boris Johnson would not respond the way that he did. Looking at it from Putin's point of view: 1. Zelensky looked too weak to rally Ukraine, Biden too weak to lead an international response, and Europe too divided to assist Ukraine. 2. Russia had Europe by the short hairs energywise, with no apparent alternatives that were economically feasible. 3. He had many Ukrainians bought and acting on his direction. He thought that they would all stay bought. 4. He had a powerful fighting force in position to execute a decent invasion plan. 5. He had to go before any of these conditions changed. He failed because too many of his assumptions were based on hope, not fact.

  30. What’s fucking hilarious is this duplicitous premise: 2021: We would have made the playoffs if Haynes King had stayed healthy. 2022: We would have made the playoffs if Jimbo played someone else besides Haynes King. That’s true aggie shit there. What’s also hilarious is that they’re pining for Johnson. This guy is a statue in the pocket and he was benched for performance last year. ATM has hot garbage on the OL and they’re about to face a legitimate P5 front seven. I realize that @bizzle wants to declaratively state that Fatheree is a future high draft pick, but the film doesn’t show that. Go watch clips of ATM in the first two weeks and I fucking challenge you not to cackle watching some of the Fatheree plays. It’s Christian Jones at LT bad, but for an enemy. They’re also pining for Weigman in the same way they were pining for King. Weigman is actually a better prospect. Problem is, he can’t be anywhere near where Fisher wants a QB to be in terms of understanding his ancient playbook. Further, Weigman has legitimate concussion issues and they apparently have been a concern at some point in fall camp. So, yeah, put that dude out there behind that line, I guess.

  31. I know it's lame and cliched, but all that matters this week is how we play. If the offensive/defensive lines keep progressing and the defense stays disciplined, we will win. And maybe win easily. I expect the crowd/atmosphere to be pretty damn good after last week. This is not a trap game. We are 6-8 under Sark so far. We lost last week. Every talking ahead is mentioning an upset alert. It feels like the team is anxious to get out there and fuck shit up.

  32. Fisher is right until he isn't. Winning covers up a multitude of sins and keeps the really bad shit at bay while it's happening, but the second that goes away there is nothing there but total and complete decimation of the program, and it becomes a deal where you have to burn everything to the ground and start completely over again in a fresh way. We saw that with Mack Brown when it all fell apart (well after the program rot had set in around 2006 or so) and he's 10 times the coach/ceo type that Dildo Baggins will ever be. I pounded the table for the under on aggy at 8.5 this year. I've wanted to put money against them both games. This season looks like it's going to just crater and burn the whole place down. Jimbo is a relic of an offensive coach and they have zero competent QB's and a pretty inept line. This is the same recipe that brought you Shawn Watson and that late term abortion of an offense for Chuckles the Clown. Layer on the fact that Jimbo is a liar, the new coaches he hired are literally sociopaths, nobody on the team wants to be there, but were mercenaries who showed up to the highest bidder, and I have absolutely positively zero doubt that this can go extremely badly for them and be a nose dive that they can't recover from. After that reality sets in they will look up and see they have $90M left on the contract, Daddy and his drunken methed out brother OU are coming home and they are ready to sodomize poor aggy after they were out from under our thumb for the last decade but popped off incessantly like the tiny dick motherfuckers they are. Finally, layer in a little bit of national ridicule for shitting the bed as a top 10 team and the goofiness of cult practice going viral the other day, and the feels that will stir up in them, and I mean, it just can't possibly get any better. The chess board is set up. We just need one more piece to fall (losing in embarrassing fashion to Miami at the dead dog Kroger) and it will be fucking on and light a fuse that will spark an explosion that we will enjoy watching for at least 3-5 years. Its going to be epic.
