  3. One my good friends has a brother that played for ATM and went on to a career in a pro sport and then professional business success. He’s actively involved with numerous ATM initiatives and is close to their BoR. My buddy and I were playing golf on Friday and he told me that his brother was with one of the BoR’s on a family Thanksgiving vacation together. His brother came back from that trip and said “it is going to be really hard to remove Jimbo before 2025. “ He doesn’t think they have anything close to the money they’d need to pull it off. Apparently at least one of the money guys is also firmly in Fisher’s court and wouldn’t provide any help to a termination, ever. Whoops. Also, multiple money guys have pulled out of all new “NIL” needs until the worm turns on the field. That’s put more pressure on those backing Ritz Bitz and his pleas.

  7. No, it's four. When you hear "3" it's because that's how many NCAA titles volleyball has won. However, they won the AIAW national championship in 1981 when that was THE championship, since the NCAA was late in recognizing national championships in many women's sports. There's nothing illegitimate about it. It's not some kind of made up national championship after the fact like other schools we know, do. When you hear commentators remark about UT's 3 national championships, you'll always hear them add the word "NCAA Championships." But it's not really accurate in the most pragmatic sense. That's a real championship. The banner hangs in Gregory for a reason. It's officially accounted for in every Texas source you can find, and it should be. When Mick Haley is cited regarding his national championships, he's credited with 4 - 2 at Texas and 2 at USC, with one of them being the AIAW championship in 1981. Anyway, it's a pet peeve of mine. It diminishes the UT volleyball program slightly in a way that's undeserved. Congrats ladies on number 4!

  10. Yeah, for sure Spencer is gone, irrespective of Texas getting someone else. But they’re also getting someone else.

  12. My daughter has a few volleyball players she looks up to. One was a senior girl that took her under her wing when she was 12, and worked with her 3 days a week in the summer on her game. She helped her make her 7th grade squad and club after missing the year prior due to a Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis, hospital stay, and weight/health recovery. That girl went on to play D1 vball and my daughter wears that girl's number when she plays at school to this day. However, there is no bigger one than Logan Eggleston. The way she plays. Her power. All things my daughter patterns her game after. So it was pretty cool seeing her watch the game and her favorite player win a championship. She was so excited. There were a lot of "Let's Go" 's at my house last night. Below is my kid when she was in middle school. Mini Logan Eggleston. On the other court to the right, the bald black guy's reaction to the sound is hilarious. Hookem!

  14. How long are we going to call them "Neo-Nazis?" It's safe to say that the original Hitler Youth were not at this rally, so no need to distinguish them from pre-1945 Nazis. They're just fucking Nazis. Same way it's not called the Neo-Klan,* it's just the fucking Klan. *I have no doubt that somewhere, somebody, is leading a group right now in the Neo-Klan Profession of Faith in a garage apartment behind a pull-a-part junkyard.

  16. The obsession with service errors among fans and commentators drives me bananas. I keep wanting them to point out the serves where the opponent easily passes it on top of the setter, she has 3 options available (or a 4th with a back row hitter) and the ball easily hits the floor because the defense has no idea where the attack is going to come from. Because there are WAAAAAAAAAY more of those than there are service errors. In any match. Texas sided out at an obnoxious 70% rate for the championship match. That occurred because Louisville couldn't get enough pressure from their serve, and they're one of the better serving teams in the country. Texas meanwhile was consistently putting brutal pressure on Louisville's serve receive. They passed at a 1.91 rate. That's terrible. Didn't matter about the service errors. I'm not saying I was cheering each one of them. The 3 in a row was particularly frustrating. But if you're going to serve as aggressively as Texas did, you're going to get errors. That's just the way it is. You cannot win at this level without aggressive serving. You just can't. There was a comment in the pre finals press conference where one of the Louisville players (DeBeer) makes the joke that her coach's solution for everything is to serve tougher. And there's a lot of truth in that.

  17. Posted this on VolleyTalk: Just got back to the room after the FANTASTIC celebration in the hotel bar. I wish all of the Texas fans could have been there. Members of the 2012 team were there, family, past coaching staff, supporters, friends of the team… can’t tell you how many times I cried meeting the players as they came over after the team meeting to celebrate. And I love that Akana got the ace on Championship Point.

  18. It’s probably partly true, but the money got behind buying the 2022 in early 2021 due to the excitement from the 2020 season. There were people involved with it all who were saying in January of 2021 that they were tired of fucking around with Bama and Georgia in recruiting. It had nothing to do with Texas at the time, although they were at least leery of Sarkisian as the new flavor. Hey man, what in the fuck are you doing? First, don’t summon that imbecile to the recruiting board - ever. Second, the guy has no fucking clue about the actual program itself. He’ll just devolve into one of his stupid fucking rants about ATM in the 1920s. Finally, he’s in solitary confinement at the nuthouse. His privileges have been revoked for some time. You can’t beat the shit out of two orderlies with a keyboard without repercussions. Go pine for him on the football board. Christ.

  22. Texas ranked 29th in the country in rushing defense this year. A&M ranked 124th. Keep that in mind when you see ags wonder who no one is impressed by their "amazing" D-line and why LBs would rather play behind ours.
