  1. Imagine raising daughters and thinking that Texas protects them. LMAO

  2. I remember when Hillary mishandled some classified documents and it cost her the presidency. Seems like a massive multi-level conspiracy to defraud voters and overthrow the US government should have at least some political consequences, perhaps legal ones as well… I dunno

  3. Well then, by all means, spread it around the internet.

  5. I know this isn't a new thought, but it was a reminder to me of a larger problem than Trump/MAGA that affects everyone. One of my closest friends (a lifelong contrarian and conspiratorial thinker) sent me a tweet showing Kamala on her plane in a photo op where she is accused of a staged photo writing on blank pieces of paper with her earbuds not plugged in to her phone. The tweeter said it reminded them of a scene from VEEP. My friend knows how much I love VEEP (he's never seen it) and it was a truly lighthearted text he expected I would laugh at. He knows I'm very liberal and we usually chat about sports, but there was nothing nefarious. What I got out of it the most is my friend and I are consuming completely different information. I'm sure if I grabbed his phone and scanned his Twitter feed, there would be ZERO crossover politically. Modern technology has completely removed the media monoculture we experienced in the 20th century. We all sit here incredulous that people can be pro-Trump based on his media clips and everything else. But I'd bet that the vast majority of his people don't see what we see. And vice versa. I know I'm on the "right" side of this election, but 95% of what I consume is showing Kamala/Dems in the best light. I notice the half-truths and out of context BS from Dem accounts, and it's pretty frustrating, but it's clearly WAY worse on the right. It's such a dangerous way for society to receive and process information. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, MSM, podcasts...the algorithm will only feed you what you want to hear. And I don't see a realistic solution. It seems it will only get worse.

  6. If so, I’ll root for a meteor. Many of you will die but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

  8. Yep. Glad your daughters don't have access to necessary medical care so that you can be protected from an issue that has a .0001% of affecting your life or the life of your family in any meaningful way. Total win by you. Oh, and you get to demonize some poor college student for shits and grins too. Your children should be proud.

  12. This is exactly right. The single fact checks and how apoplectic JD Vance got when he was checked on his 100% confidently incorrect answer would have ruined him. 80% of what he said was just made up nonsense. "I read your bill and doctors can just not treat babies after they are born and not have any consequences" Read the entire bill and 2 others related and nowhere is there anything even relatively close to that language in the bill. Debates after this election must be fact checked in real time and in between answers instead of the next question the moderator should correct any incorrect information and not give the person a chance to respond. Going into an exam, writing a bunch of bullshit on the paper and turning in the scantron then walking out telling everyone you aced the test and don't even know why you have to take the class only to get a 47 and answer mostly everything wrong and the stuff you did answer correctly was chance on the scantron is exactly what JD Vance was last night. Tim Walz was nervous as fuck, was dripping sweat on the test and really wanted to make an A so he didn't let everyone down. Got into the groove, gained confidence during since he knew the answers he was giving were the correct ones and then after the test not talking about how he did and he's glad he studied so hard because it was a difficult exam. He scored an 85 and vows to study even harder for the next one. That's the difference in these two.

  13. I'm not going to weigh in on the whole Campbell / Hutson thing, but man is it nice that we have such a deep OL room. Hutson would have been our best lineman by a wide margin only three seasons ago. It's great that we can even have these kinds of arguments.

  15. I don't know enough to say whether this player should be in the match or not but this only the University of Wyoming trying to make a political point. If one school is questioning the eligibility of any player from another school, then it's up to the conference or the NCAA to decide eligibility. But you still play the game under protest. Then if the conference/NCAA rules in your favor, you receive the win. Personally I don't think Wyoming should received a forfeit loss, they should be disqualified from the entire conference season. You don't want to play in the conference, then the conference should honor their wishes.

  18. wait, what you took from my response was a comment about you, your gender and your body? really? you're right we aren't going to agree, I typically don't agree with people who have no idea what the fuck they are talking about. as a general rule mind you, not one about trans issues only.

  19. 90%+ huh? You are so incredibly full of shit. We're never going to get anywhere close to that level of agreement on this in this country. I agree that there are uncomfortable issues with biological men competing in women's sports that need to be addressed in a respectful manner. But I also think that these athletes will continue to be a rarity, and the idea that it could become commonplace for men to transition just so they can dominate women's sports to be some extreme low-IQ, slippery-slope fear mongering. I have no idea what the correct answer is. I just know the correct answer isn't creating a culture war out of this thing that directly affects so few people, yet demonizes and isolates young people who are going through a whole lot as it is. But here we are.

  20. It's funny that adults want to block Tik-Tok for what it's doing to our youth when adults are being completely driven by online rage baiting and disinformation via Twitter, Facebook, Nextdoor, and weirdly now Linkedin. I've started cutting out Twitter except for a few times a day and it feels much better.

  21. I'm 49 and a late transitioner and I fit squarely within female athletics parameters, from my hormone levels and physical strength, all the way down to my red blood cell count, red blood cell size, hemoglobin concentrations which are down the middle female range (some folks claim O2 carrying capacity is a reason why trans athletes shouldn't be allowed to compete). there is a way for everyone to win here (which does require more stringent requirements on trans athletes (thank you Lia Thomas grrrr), but nah, let's make it a south park skit and a wedge issue for voters, that makes sense.

  22. Just to frame this a bit differently, a sovereign nation launched 108 high value strategic war assets at another state’s territory. This was in response to a targeted attack on a non-state actor on the territory of a third state. Relevant also to note that the third state does not border Iran, and that Hezbollah is useful to Iran only as a platform to advance Iranian interests vis-a-vis the Palestine issue and potentially as a deterrent to keep Israel from striking back at Iran for doing— shit like this. You cannot credibly say that Iran’s core security is affected by strikes on Hezbollah. It’s even more ludicrous than claiming that Russia’s core security was affected by Ukraine battling LNR/DNR militias. Bottom line is that a 108 ballistic missile attack on a nation’s air bases IS ALREADY ALL OUT FUCKING WAR. Only in the insane discourse of Israel is there a risk of Israel “escalating” from that and in fact they are showing amazing restraint already. If Belarus launches 100 ballistic missiles at Polish defense installations no one is writing stupid headlines like “will this lead to all out war?”
