  1. I have a good friend who played WR at Kentucky under Leach and Mumme. Loves Mumme to this day like a second father and has nothing but great things to say about those guys and his time there. Says what we all know, that Leach was one of one and the stories back it up. It’s posts like this that just highlight your ignorance when it comes to critical concepts in life that the rest of us find compelling. Specifically, Leach was an innovator. As such, he was largely shunned by the establishment. The best he could ever get was quiet consideration for the Tennessee job at one point. His true apex was MSU, sadly. Many of us, as adults who have lived life, can understand that it’s a hell of a thing to win bigger than damned near anyone else has at college football outposts such as Texas Tech, Wazzou and MSU. You, being the unexamined rube that you are, look at the same output and consider him a failure. Aggies see it the same way.

  2. You probably think Bill Snyder is very mid, too. 27 years with only two conference championships. No national titles. Compare what coaches did before and after Leach at Texas Tech, Washington State, and Mississippi State. I find your measurements for success in sports across the board on every sport you choose to opine about to be unreasonably excessive. It makes me wonder if the people around you measure your successes and failures similarly, and let you know about it on a daily basis.

  3. When I was working and living in Bangkok, my company's biggest client had a guy that lived in the condo across the hall from mine. He got transferred so his unit was empty for a few months until the lease ran out. An acquaintance of mine with the big client had a key to the place and would every now and then bring a sidepiece over and "use the facilities" for a few hours. One day when I came back from work he and his sidepiece of the day were getting off the elevator; he knew I wouldn't snitch on him but a couple of weeks later we were going to be at some function and he was going to have his wife in tow. A day before the function he calls me up and says, "Hey man, when we're at the function if my wife asks; vouch for me that you and I were playing golf together that day." No problem, hoss. Sure enough his wife comes up and starts a conversation. In the middle of it she brings up the subject of our alleged golf game a few weeks earlier. Like a good soldier, I tell her "Yep, we were golfing together. And oh yeah, Steve... you still owe me $100 for that ass kicking I put on you that round." Made him fork it over right there in front of her.

  4. At this point I refuse to believe Murkowski is stupid or being deceived. How many times can one get β€œfucked over” and still go along with the plan. She is just trying to have her cake and eat it too. She wants these cuts just as much as the rest of the GOP, she just doesn’t want the blame for voting for them. She is a evil cunt.

  7. I didn't know the details of the meme until last night. I kept seeing it around but I had no idea what the hell it was about. Some CEO did something? Ok whatever, I'm busy I'll see what it's all about later. 7 or 8 pages, a dozen memes, one quixotic white knight quest by imma (seriously? THIS PAIR is who you're choosing to defend) and I think I am caught up. All I can say is that I have a satisfactory level of schadenfreude this morning. This asshole, by all accounts, has left every company he's ever touched in worse shape than when he arrived. And imma thinks we ought to leave Brittany alone? FUCK THAT and FUCK HIM. I hope he is forever enconsced as the representative meme of "don't get your meat where you get your bread". I also hope he's so toxic that he never gets another chance to pillage a company into the dirt. I don't feel sorry for him having an epic moment of FAFO. He ought to be the representative slide on the HR presentation that we have to sit through on behavior at work. No, I don't think I will back off, nor do I feel any pity or shame or sympathy towards him in the slightest. Saddle up bucko. This one is just starting for you.

  8. Bobby Burton Hollywood, Fla., running back Derrek Cooper announces his decision tomorrow evening at 6pm CT. Cooper, one of the nation's top players, has it all. From size to speed, from toughness to elusiveness, he has the makings of a special running back. He even has good hands out of the backfield. Cooper says he is deciding among Texas, Miami, Georgia, Ohio State and Florida State. Of course, dozens of schools put their name in the hat before Cooper narrowed his choices. With about 36 hours to go, we believe Texas remains in the pole position. However, things can and do change quickly in this era of college football recruiting, so we'll keep our ears to the ground to the very end. And one more thing that is worth thinking about... Cooper is one of those few recruits teams just aren't going to walk away from after he announces. He's just too good for that; he's viewed as a potential difference maker by multiple teams (including Texas, of course). So the teams involved with his recruitment aren't going to go quietly. ** Cooper's national recruiting ranking seems to be all over the map. Some have him a top 2 or 3 back in the country; others have him outside the top 5. Texas and other colleges clearly view him among the very, very best, or they wouldn't be after him this hard. And that leads me to this... Here's something I think the recruiting ranking industry misses in a major way: If a player is so good that certain teams are going to stay on a player even if they have committed elsewhere, I think that says more about how highly college coaches view those recruits. I'm not just talking about Cooper here. Think of Malakai Lee, who is committed to Michigan, of Jameion Winfield who is committed to USC, of Kendal Guervil who is committed to Florida, as well as others. None of those players are "ranked" among the top 50 in the country. Yet Texas and other schools with a great, recent track record of developing and identifying talent sure are recruiting each of those guys like they are. Consider this scenario. When some recruits announce for another program, Texas and other schools just move on down the road. Yet for others, they're willing to fight to the brutal end. To me, that aspect is more telling of just how highly viewed a prospect is than any recruiting "rankings" list. Simply put, if national recruiting powers who are producing draft picks like Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, etc., are fighting to the very end on guys, it speaks infinitely more to the valuation and ranking of those players than any third party recruiting service who doesn't have their job on the line with a ranking. The recruiting ranking industry ignores that, or at least attempts to. And I think it does a disservice to the players and coaches it is discounting. Instead, it is more like a stock market that irrationally undervalues certain fundamental aspects.

  17. I said ACTUALLY Obamacare was the nickname for the ACA and the money that’s been going to offset your premiums may be taken away by this new spending bill (which came to pass). He was genuinely shocked. It’s ridiculous what rightwing media has done to the people of our country. I also said something about Texas’ refusing billions of dollars in matching funds for Medicaid, which would make healthcare even cheaper for Texans. Of course he had no idea about that either. I’ve pretty much started telling all of my patients when any of this stuff comes up that our state government is giving away billions of dollars every year to the federal government that could come back to us, but we are letting it be spent elsewhere. Hopefully a few take it to heart.

This ^ These are the same out of touch, overly compensated, good ole boys who are using GenAI as an excuse to RIF/offshore FTE, cut benefits, steal your data, heavy hand RTO to sweatshop offices, lobby reduced regulation for shit like asbestos, and beat the tech workforce into submission. This dude in particular was seemingly a professional snake oil salesman with a list of shattered startups trailing him and a few anecdotal comments saying he’s an ass to work for. He’s the poster child for rich egomaniacs who are completely out of touch with the world 99% live in and are currently riding the oligarchy wave of β€˜fuck you, I’m rich and I’m right and I’m untouchable…do as I say or spend six months looking for a job’ enabled by our current Pay To Play government…see Bezos, Musk, Zuck during the inauguration. Same reason diversity initiatives vanished. I just wish it’d been that smarmy fuck Jamie Dimon who’d been busted.

  28. This is obviously the case. MAGA likes him because his vendettas align with some of their own despicable interests - get rid of non-white people, get rid of LGBTQ, attack education, attack science, attack intellectualism, attack anything that can be considered woke. What they fail to see is that Trump really doesn’t care about them at all. He doesn’t like poor people beyond his need for them to elect him, which is now in the past. Christians and religious people are delusional in thinking he is one of them. Middle America and farmers, same deal. He isn’t serving most of them except occasionally by accident. Not because he wanted to help them, but because his vindictiveness and greed happens to work in their favor. Trump serves himself, his family, and whatever billionaires or world leaders kiss his ass hard enough.
