  5. What a stupid fucking idea. A few unsavory white guys are just going to sail to an island in the Caribbean, start killing and raping the native people, and then claim the land for their own? That shit would never work.

  7. You were searching for some answers? - here you have it. From the UN security council just now: Ukraine has officially received from the American side a draft plan. We outline the fundamental principles that matter to our people. We agree to work on the plan's provisions in a way that would bring about a just end to the war. In this context, allow me to make several critical points. 1-First, while Ukraine stands ready to engage in meaningful negotiations to end this war β€” including at the leaders’ level β€” our red lines are clear and unwavering. There will never be any recognition, formal or otherwise, of Ukrainian territory temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation as Russian. Our land is not for sale. Ukraine will not accept any limits on its right to self-defense or on the size and capabilities of our Armed Forces. Nor will we tolerate any infringement on our sovereignty, including our sovereign right to choose the alliances we want to join. Any genuine peace process must respect a fundamental principle: nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine, and nothing about Europe without Europe. And let me be equally clear: we will not reward the genocidal intent that underpins Russian aggression by undermining our identity, including our language. 2- Second, support for Ukraine is indispensable. Peace requires strengthened security and sustained financial assistance to Ukraine. Reinforcing Ukraine's defense capabilities is not an escalation β€” it is the only path to compelling Russia to engage constructively in international peace efforts. In this regard, we express profound gratitude to all partners and allies. This support is an investment in the rules-based international order and global peace. 3- Third, the Kremlin regime will not stop unless it is stopped through unyielding and concerted pressure. There is only one realistic path to ending this war: Russia must be compelled to retreat β€” economically, politically, and militarily.

  8. this man from an elgin city (IL) council meeting left zero fat on this speech. said it calmly and perfectly. it really is this simple. https://www.reddit.com/r/illinois/s/JLqVgFTgQY also it’s apparently impossible to embed reddit from my phone, so if anyone knows how to make that happen then please feel free to do so.

  9. Lifelong Texan here since born in Abilene in 1970. Lived in Slow-deatha, Republic of Austin, SA. Remember when we used to be β€œThe Friendly State” with a mind your own business mentality. The state didn’t change but the Republican Party that has pretty continuously been in charge sure has. We have never really regulated business much. Same used to be pretty true about flesh and blood people (β€œOdessans for Decency” preventing Ozzy coming to town was an example of an exception to that rule). But, the slow creep of personal regulation is wearing this Texan’s ass out. Reproductive rights, small-minded towns with β€œtravel bans”, what stocks you can invest in, what books your kids can read in school, criminalization of folks navigating personal gender issues, what websites a grown-ass person can look at, adulterers with the audacity of forcing the 10 commandments posted in every classroom, public taxes to pay for religious school. The list goes on and on, largely driven by a few oil-funded, religiously extreme oligarchs. The real dismal tide. I don’t blame any Texan for leaving. I think about it too.

  26. The only way Sark is out at Texas is if there is a mutual agreement to part ways. CDC doesn’t want the bad publicity from firing Sark unless there is concrete evidence Sark majorly fucked up, not all of this hearsay stuff that is gaining traction. Everyone likes to say how great CDC is but he hasn’t even been the Texas AD for a decade and we’re already on our 3rd basketball coach, our 2nd baseball coach, and there are rumors flying around our football coach and his wife are using the team and it’s family members as a sexual buffet. But good job by CDC for getting rid of the jet pack guy and Bob Cole.

  37. You’re grasping at straws on this one. This was his way of telling Bohls to shut the fuck up…and that should be a unanimously agreeable point on this Bohls has got to shut the fuck up ….imagine what it would be like if we spent less. I’ll make sure to dial you up when the budgets getting put together. Think #1 classes are cheap? Not exactly dumpster diving in the portal year in and year out either. Talent evaluation is not the responsibility of any NIL collective or entity He’s saying Bohls should stfu and not give our competition an edge on knowing what our budget is. That tangentially affects recruiting battles we are in. Private companies aren’t out there posting their P&L for the world to see and wouldn’t appreciate anyone doing it for them to the media and their competition. Zero difference here. Let them keep guessing and more importantly fear the unknown number boogeyman
