  1. Lol at Georgia. They can fuck themselves. They’ve bought recruits for years now under the table. We played this game with both hands tied behind our back but with NiL, these schools will learn very quickly that Texas, USC, and Miami have resources that they cannot match from a funding standpoint. We need to do exactly what Riley has done and poach the best players on their teams.

  10. Quinn had 7 incompletions. He hit the deep ball to Worthy, TD to AD, and found Whittington several times leading to yards after catch. It was a good performance against a lineup of guys whol will play a lot next year. Murphy had two nice deep balls, to 5 star freshmen, who were being covered by guys who will never play a down at Texas. He threw the ball well, but anyone who says he should start, or Quinn sucks needs to find another hobby for Saturdays.

  15. No, they’re not even remotely under that impression. It’s worse. They’re just, with their entire being, emotionally invested in the idea that nothing good can happen at Texas, including a highly ranked player being successful. Because that means that player of worth rejected aTm. Nevermind the same ranking services that rated manning as the best also rated their 2022 class the best of all time, and that class is CLEARLY the best of all time. But the ranking systems are also biased trash. Imagine holding those two thoughts together in your head at the same time and believing them. Cognitive dissonance barely does it justice, it’s like we need a new word or phrase that combines cognitive dissonance and schizophrenia.

  20. At Irish shrine, Biden meets priest who gave Beau last rites By Darlene Superville, Colleen Long and Jill Lawless ASSOCIATED PRESS KNOCK, Ireland — President Joe Biden was moved to tears on Friday during a stop at a Catholic shrine when he discovered that a chaplain there had performed last rites for his late son Beau Biden. “It was incredible to see him,” Biden said later during remarks at the foot of a cathedral in nearby Ballina. “It seemed like a sign.” Knock Shrine is a pilgrimage site where, according to Catholic lore, the saints Mary, Joseph and John the Evangelist appeared near a stone wall in 1879. Biden touched the remaining old wall, and toured the site with priest Father Richard Gibbons. Gibbons said he discovered earlier in the day that the Father Frank O’Grady working at the site was the same one who had performed last rites, a ceremony in the Catholic faith that spiritually prepares people for death, for Beau. It’s common in the Catholic faith for priests to move around to different posts during their lives in the church. O’Grady is a former U.S. Army chaplain and was formerly assigned to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., where Beau died in 2015 from brain cancer at age 46. Gibbons said he did not know about the Biden connection until Friday. “I told the president that,” Gibbons told BBC Ulster. “He wanted to meet him straightaway, so he dispatched a Secret Service agent to go and find him.” He said it was “a wonderful, spontaneous thing that happened.” “He was crying and it really affected him,” Gibbons said of Biden. “Then we said a prayer, we said a decade of the rosary for his family, we lit a candle. Then he took a moment or two for private prayer.” O’Grady told Irish national broadcaster RTE that he was summoned to meet the president. “He gave me a big hug, it was like a reunion. He told me he appreciated everything that was done,” he said. “I hadn’t seen him really in eight years since Beau died. His son Hunter was there too, so we had a real reunion.” O’Grady said of the president, “He has been grieving a lot, but I think the grief is kind of going down a bit. We talked a little bit about how grief can take several years.” After the visit to the shrine on Friday, Biden toured a hospice center that displays a plaque commemorating his son. Biden was in Ireland this week with his sister Valerie and son Hunter, touring his ancestral home and meeting with the nation’s leaders. https://apnews.com/article/biden-beau-cancer-knock-ireland-0b52c7f9fa4e4c135dd49f0c00bdc473

  24. So you morons watched Ewers hit guys down the field, pick apart the defense, throw strikes to Whittington and Mitchel and go15-20 for 190 yards and three Td’s scored in 5 drives in the first half and your takeaway is he’s a problem for us? Y’all are clowns. Murphy looked good. It was awesome he beat the 4th string walk on down the field in single coverage twice in a row and I liked it, along with his obviously big arm, but Ewers is going to be first team all conference, in the top 10 in Heisman voting and go in the first round of the draft. It’s fine. He’s fine. We are fine.

  28. I have watched the game through a couple of times so far. Here are my thoughts: 1. AD Mitchell is exactly what Quinn needed. His body control is freaky and he adjusts well to the ball in the air with soft hands. 2. We tend to forget how good Worthy is because of the struggles last season, then we see him running wide open all over the field and I was thinking "Oh yeah, there he is." 3. Aaron Bryant is going to be really valuable in the DL rotation, he just doesn't go backwards very much. 4. Maalik Murphy was excellent, he gave himself a nice cushion heading into the summer for that #2 role. 5. Arch looked like a freshman, but he made good decisions with the ball running for his life behind that line. Maalik got a much cleaner pocket behind the same guys for whatever reason. 6. I found myself very impressed with Conner Stroh. He looks like he can be a guy in that 2 deep if needed next year. 7. Cam Williams has Mike Tyson level punch when he gets his hands on guys. He picked one guy up and threw him a yard or two in the air. He did really well at guard and tackle. 8. Kelvin Banks just erases whoever he is lined up against. Total mismatch. 9. Byron Murphy was showing a little more disruption than last season, but I am still not going to pencil him in for 5 sacks next year. 10. Sorrell, Burke, and Vasek were the three edge guys that stood out. Vasek blew by a tackle on more than one occasion and sacked Arch once that wasnt called. Burke can be a major problem if he stops reading so much and pins his ears back and crashes down. He also recorded a sack on Quinn, but he still gets moved in the run game too much. Finkley looks like a fire hydrant out there but physics is not on his side. Tapp looks either lost or unmotivated. Portal candidate. 11. Loved some of the coverage from the dbs. Brooks, Watts, Barron, Muhammad, and Holmes all had really nice plays. 12. Safety was meh. BJ Allen got abused by Worthy all day. 13. Gbenda looks to be spring ball bluster, he was fine but I don't see him keeping Hill off the field. Hill is just too rangy and gets through the wash much more effectively. 14. Sydir Mitchell is going to be a monster when he grows up. 15. I would not pencil Jake Majors in at starting center yet. His ceiling is just so much lower than the guys around him. 16. Lefau had a couple of nice plays, but he needs some more time. 17. Deandre Moore had a tough day, but I am still excited about him. Johntay was really good, but his long TD catch was against a walkon in 1 on 1 coverage, so I am not really giving that too much weight. 18. Blue looked pretty good with a couple of nice runs between the tackles. His TD would have been tackled well before he scored had Barron not had a green jersey on. Red was really intriguing, I can see him giving some less athletic teams like K State or Iowa State some real problems. Baxter showed a couple of nice things, but he looks like he may need a little time to be the guy.

  29. This is what everyone is going crazy about? In his first few throws he throws a crossing route behind his receiver allowing it to be broken up and then underthrows a wheel route requiring the back to slow way down to make the catch. One deep ball was good, the other was underthrown. I see internet fans are still unable to tell what they're looking at and only see the result of a play. He is obviously very talented and coming along very nicely but he also obviously has a long way to go.

  35. Hey, do you guys remember the 2022 spring game? Back when Quinn Ewers had "IT" and was definitely going to win the Heisman as a redshirt freshman? Everyone needs to calm down about Murphy, he threw some nice passes and cooked a walk-on. It's one glorified scrimmage.

  36. Counterpoint: the Friday late afternoon flight on SWA when they had the “lounge seats” configuration - 2 sets of 6 seats facing each other - was a gotdamn party. Especially among the frequent fliers, who would have books of drink coupons ready to go. A coupla beers in the terminal before your flight, 2-4 more on the flight….it was one of the most hoppin’ bars in town. Bonus: on the weekend, it could get even rowdier. Flight to ABQ with a buddy to go fly fishing for a long weekend. Sitting next to a little Hispanic lady doing needle point. Buddy lamenting how he just can’t find a gal, last two he dated were duds. Law school classmate of mine comes on board, I mention how sweet and cool she is, motion her to sit with us. Get some drinks in us all - so why are you heading to ABQ? She answers “well…there’s a bull rider there I’ve been fuckin’, but he decided he found Jesus and won’t fuck me anymore. So I’m gonna try and seduce him one last time, and if that doesn’t work, I’m moving on.” A few minutes later, she gets up to hit the lav, my buddy says “I thought you said she was sweet?” “Well, as far as I knew, she was! I didn’t know this side of her.” Then, outta nowhere, little Hispanic lady doing needle point elbows my friend - “oye, you should date HER.” Loved those seats.
