Random thoughts that don't warrant a thread

We went in looking for a '25 model they had listed. Salesman said it was in back and was gone for about 10 minutes. He came up in a '26 model and said he couldn't find the '25. We drove it but I told him we were really wanting a 25 model they were willing to deal on. He said he thought he could make us a good offer on the '26 and went to talk to his manager. He was gone about 10 minutes and I told my wife that I knew they wouldn't make any deals on a '26 and that if he couldn't find the '25  we were going to walk. 5 minutes later he came back with the keys to the '25 model he "found" and never brought up the '26. IDK if they really do but it was odd that the sign was on the wall behind the cubicles.

The real moral of the story is: Always be willing to walk away without a car.

When he dropped the line “you really need to be in THIS car”, I told him they made about 40,000 of them this year so if I don’t buy this one, I bet I can find another one.

Musescore can suck my dick.

They more or less have a monopoly on sheet music nowadays, so you have to use them. But they have a deceptive interface that tricks you into agreeing to a $60 subscription fee. It's caught me twice. After the first time, I'm trying very hard to make sure I get the non-subscription purchase, and I still somehow ended up getting it.

And they're refusing to give me a refund.

Had no idea John Deere was in the music business.

Texas calculates tax on the difference between the new car and the trade in.

California taxes the cost of the new car.

I didn't know that... so I sat in the dealership with my spreadsheet haggling the $30/month. At 9PM, they finally relented and I drove away with the price I was willing to pay.

Two ways to go about buying a car - walking away, or clear your schedule and be willing to grind them until the late hours.

Here's the thing. If you're willing to walk away, you're going to get the "grind until the late hours" price, but without the grind. Because that salesman knows that if he doesn't give it to you, the next dealer will.

My most recent car was driven down to me (and the trade-in driven back up) from the next county up, because that guy was going to give me the car I wanted at the price I wanted. And they're perfectly happy to drive all over SoCal if they make the sale.

You have all the power, and no matter what they say, they know that.

What’s worse Diahrrea or constipation?

Diarrhea from Peruvian street food is WAAAAAYYYY worse than the worst constipation from eating Wendy's and Thundercloud subs for an entire week.

2005: Wendy's, Thundercloud, Wendy's, Thundercloud > Sitting on the can at work birthing a poop the size of a pepsi can.

2010: Peruvian fried chicken with amazing chili paste > Sitting on the can at 11AM, liquid squirting out my ass and puking into a trash can concurrently. Again at 1AM, 3AM, 6AM. Checking out of the hotel at 10AM, and promptly checking back in because of cramps and cold sweats. I lay in bed until our 5PM bus from Machu Pichu back to Cusco, and then held on to a barf bag for 3 hours on verge of throwing up any remaining stomach acid.

That was probably the worst food poisoning I ever had. Second worst was after we had an amazing dinner on a beach in Bali (on our honeymoon).
