I think a healthy QE should start next week but dang I thought arch shoulda come in when QE was gimpy.  Nice impose your will on the other guy SEC style 15 straight run plays to burn 7+ mins and score to put it away. That was beautiful. 2 week in a row the OL took over.

nice wow wow wee wow GIF

Straight domination. Some Kentucky fan wanted to give a couple of us an earful and by the end of the drive his entire table was cleared.

Thrown it forward. Are you really going argue throwing the ball backwards is a good thing?

Actually, the more I think about what’s happening is, I’m seeing sark’s effects of wearing a team out by running linebackers one sideline to the other with the screens and checkdowns, D lineman being on their back heels in the first and then getting their asses knocked down in the second half, and the 4th quarter becomes call your run play.

You are a witness.

The backwards pass off the dropped snap was an uber-shitty decision

Thatguy asked his question in response to Vic Mackey’s assertion that we quit throwing the ball for various reasons, one of which was shitty decisions.

The backwards pass was a fuckup, IMO, but what about decisions on reads and where to go with the ball, RPO’s, etc.

THOSE are the types of errors that would lead a coach to abandon the passing game, which seems to be what we were talking about.

Oh, no. Our defense must suck. We gave up 14 points to, arguably, the worst offense in the SEC!!! We gave up big pass plays of over 40 yards. Geez, I remember when our defense didn't suck. Oh, and it was against one of the worst teams in the SEC. Man, I guess that means our defense really, really sucks. Oh, shit, I guess our season is over because we thought our defense was good. Guess what? They actually suck, like really bad, like really hard. They gave up 14 points to a bad team. We should just shut down our football program. Nevermind that we won the game. That doesn't matter, because when UT wins we still lose...apparently.

Someone asked about shitty decisions. I gave one. Quinn was pretty good with reads. Intermediate ball was bette today. Worst one was the short completion on 3rd down. Texas ran the mesh and Ewers threw to the wrong guy. Easy first down if he made the right read there

We didn’t abandon the passing game. We literally told them to take our length in the running game.

Loved the running game today. Quinn had his moments, but as expected, his overall performance was mediocre. We might (as in a 50% shot) get past Aggy with a gimpy Quinn, but there's no way he can lead us thru the playoffs. Absolutely no way. I don't care how good our run game is, we cannot go anywhere past Aggy without a mobile QB. We can now see why Sark has had him tiptoeing in the pocket for three weeks. If he gets out there and runs, he gets injured. Whatever is wrong with him, won't be fixed this year.

So Sark needs a come to Jesus moment and start Manning against A&M. Arch has probably a greater chance of beating the Ags than Quinn, and if we're going any further, it's Arch that needs the reps - not in the second half, not in the fourth quarter, but from the opening kickoff on.

There is simply no reason for Sark to continue this feel-good charade. Ewers, God bless him, is injured. Period. Letting him stumble thru (and maybe even win) one more game isn't going to improve his chances in the NFL draft. Arch is the future of this team. Let's embrace it and move on, deep into the playoffs with a QB who can scramble for ten yards anytime he wants. If SArk mixes that in with the run game we saw today, we will be unstoppable. If Sark relies solely on the run game with an injured QB passing on third down, we are fucked.

Some people on this board are almost deliberately dumbasses. I don't know how else to spell it. I'll try...U...R..Dumbasses. Okay, I failed. Maybe I'm a dumbass. We're winning. Often, derisively. Still, you're going to bitch and moan, because, well, you're a bitch. We're 10-1 in the "heralded SEC." yet that isn't enough. You know what? Just, go fuck yourself. Maybe then you'll be satisfied. But based on the posts I've read, probably not.

I mean, it’s great that we only have 1 loss but any other loss would have been a huge upset. Win the next 2 weeks and the doubters will shut up but Quinn fell the fuck apart today.

I think the people blaming Quinn for all of our issues are dumb. Although he does appear to be one of the weaker links of the offense since October. Our offensive line can really take over games late. Our WRs create a lot of separation and run consistent routes. Our RBs lack mass, but they’re doing their best. The TE’s have been great all year. Quinn looks really banged up. He moves like an old man. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if he bounces back these next two weeks.

You just called people blaming Quinn (for our offensive struggles) dumb, then listed reasons why he should be blamed, and sprinkled in some hope that he finally plays better. It’s pure hope. There’s no logical reason to believe the next 2 games, against the 2 best teams we’ve seen this year, will be when he reverses this trend of mediocre football.

Look at the records of the teams we've beaten. And then there's Georgia. Did the O-line take over that game? Fuck no. Did Quinn run in that game? No, but seems Arch had a nice ten yarder in the eight  or so snaps he got. What are the Bulldogs ranked now? 10th? They kicked our butts. You can rest on our 10-1 record if you want but it's means didley squat if we lose to A&M, then get beaten again in the playoffs because our QB isn't mobile (and makes some ridiculous mistakes). The top teams in the nation are going to take advantage of the kind of mistakes we saw today and we'll be playing catch up ball the entire game.

Too bad Quinn is injured, but Arch is the answer. Ten wins won't mean shit when we come up against an Ohio State or Oregono with a QB who can't move, or an inexperienced QB who wasn't allowed any reps because the Head Coach insisted on playing his hobbled starter until we found ourselves twenty points down with one half to play. The season will be over. I want to see it end with a National Championship, and guess what, Ewers ain't gonna win a Natty.

We've been waiting for Quinn the bounce back for about 4 weeks now. Manning combined with an opportunistic defense woulda put up fifty points against KY today. Right now it's "All Gas and One Flat Tire."

It’s not all that.  He hands off the ball, completes screen passes and short outs better..  if semi good Quinn shows up he can easily manage a game vs aggy with a win. But with one leg next week possibly who knows and would Sark make a change?

The very same QB you are talking about with all those same flaws. If we had this defense last year we have a brand new trophy in the case at Belmont. Your scenario is a dream you had last night where the winning lottery numbers appeared before you so now you are gonna play em.

Not one reporter in the post game presser asked Sark why Arch didn’t see the field when Quinn was out there hobbling around.

Because I’m sure the answer would have been very insightful and not at all coach-speak.

It would be a waste of a question. Seriously, what would you expect him to say if asked that?

He redshirted last year and has played in 6 games this year.

I watched the first half and liked what I saw. He was pretty good and seemed to be comfortable in the pocket and moving and scrambling if needed. That Ewers can beat most teams that Texas will face. His deep passes weren’t that good.

That “strip sack” was just bad luck to me. I watched it on my phone and it just looked like an int.

Ewers’ ball security is a real issue, much like our RBs (Blue esp). They all need to carry footballs to class all week. oh, wait…do they still have classes?

kentucky has a backup freshman qb who came in and threw more accurate deep balls in one half than ewers has, i dunno, all year? that guy was the best qb on the field last night, bar none. that should be concerning for Texas fans heading into the toughest stretch of our schedule. somehow, for a sizable portion of this thread, it’s not.

Arch is not going to start unless Quinn is really hurt or he shits the bed again.

Out of all the scenarios, I want Quinn to beat a&m and to win the whole thing but none of us are really worried if he does get hurt because we get to see what arch has to offer.

Quinn, just win it all and make us eat shit.

Payton Thorne just put up 40 on A&M. The rest of the teams we will face in the playoffs have issues as well. More importantly, Ewers is playing regardless of what this thread says and there isn’t a better option at this time. Why should I be concerned?

Was at the game so haven’t fully caught up…so without hyperbole and extremism (big ask, I know)…is there any consensus on what happened at the end of the first half injury-wise? He appeared to be moving slow and walking funny the rest of the night.

Ankle rolled up on. Probably should’ve sat.  Didn’t end up making a shit because we are a good team.

This was the perfect Quinn Ewers game. It had everything you’ve come to expect from QE:

-a great touch

-good decision making

-hooking up with the tight end

-batted down passes

-injury concerns

-inconsistency

-random fuck ups
