Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: They Can't Keep Getting Away With This

I could SO raise UT's photography game.

I think what we need is some sort of still photography version of The Volume. A huge video wall with side walls and a ceiling. Give the recruits the choice of what amazing background they want their visit photo to be. For Photograph it's infinitely easier since it doesn't have to camera track or even animate.

If you’re choosing between LSU and aggy maybe you’re a lot fucking dumber than we have you credit for

It comes down to a steaming pile of warm shit on a hot day   Or lsu and losing to that steaming pile of shit

especially have the nfl factory has ramped up production here

He goes to U Lab, it was always going to be LSU vs the field.

This is.. confusing? He rushed out of Austin, and he supposedly was paid off by A&M, but wanted to share his dope pics?

You ever met any teenagers? Dope pics for the ‘gram are pretty much their #1 takeaway from this entire process.

Why? LSU isn't on our schedule, and with this Mickey Mouse 8 game conference schedule bullshit there’s a decent chance we’ll never face off against Brown.

Ultimately we could face anyone in the nation who's on a playoff team, even if we never do in regular season play. I think Brown's less likely to be part of a contender in B/CS. But it's just a hunch on my part.

I mean sure, but LSU making the CFP is kind of a leap. It’s going to be tough to win 10 games with that staff.

True. Then again, we're comparing that staff's chances to aggy's...and history rarely favors the Brazos bunch.

After all that talk about how Elko's gonna coach up his our-kind-of-guys, he turns around and pulls a Jimbo and purchases a mercenary 5-star DL.

Stupid sip, he's not a mercenary. He just loves goats.

I’m still confused on this brown situation. We got development from a few players we thought were jags, this year we are relying on a peg leg Tar Heel and transfers. Getting a 5 star to have for multiple years seems like a massive need. Same with Bowman? I understand not being able to pay everyone what they want to the max but when are we going to start swinging our big Texas D and saying F it, an extra million won’t hurt. He went from loving our visit to now it’s over?

Because it’s fucking stupid. USC is paying Bowman something absurd like 7.5 million over 3 years. 2 million plus for a TE is regarded unless he’s putting up Brock Bowers numbers. Y’all need to familiarize yourself with the concept of Cap Hell which is going to be a big thing in college football going forward. Also A&M and USC suck ass and don’t have  an elite roster that cost a fortune to retain but is actually proven unlike high school recruits.

Leading TE's under Riley

OU
2017: Mark Andrews 62 catches, 958 yards, 8 TDS
2018: Grant Calcaterra 26 caches 396 yds, 6 TDs
2019: Brayden Willis 11 catches, 168 yards, 3 TDs
2020: Austin Stogner 26 catches, 422 yards, 3 TDs
2021: Brayden Willis 15 catches, 177 yards, 2 TDs

USC
2022: Lake McRee 10 catches, 106 yards, 2 TDs
2023: Lake McRee 26 catches 262 yards, 1 TD
2024: Lake McRee 24 catches, 245 yards, 0 TD

So unless he's going to use him like Mark Andrews in 2017 then that is a complete waste of NIL money.

Thank you for your donation of an extra million RockyMountainHighHorn. it's been well maligned on this board that A&M is one of the few that is still utilizing bags, and in the case of USC, using numbers they can't actually gurantee. Our NIL pitch has worked so far, and even landed us Terry last year so lets see what happens.

Deuce Robinson is a more recent comp.

I don't have it down to a verifiable science but I like to play the name game this early in the process. Without any context my initial thought on a guy named Lamar Brown was LSU or aggy, it just sounds like a dude who's been there for years already.

A Brown to aggy commit should get us some good stuff from Looch/Texags.  Some "shockwaves" across the SEC and fear settling in from Austin to Norman to Tusacaloosa type stuff.

We have learned that players know what each other are making, roughly. Jimbo’s ag team fell apart, in large part, because there was a disconnect between compensation and performance (starters wondered why they were supposed to give it their all, when their freshman backup was getting paid five times as much).

Texas has a salary structure that is aligned with contribution and understands that you don’t revise it for just one recruit or player.
