Okay.

You are here saying there's missing votes? What does that sound like?

Are you saying that 10s of millions of voters couldn't vote even though they tried because of some registration stuff? That's pretty easy to find out.

Harris sitting on 14 million fewer votes than Biden got during a fucking pandemic is absolutely amazing.

There were also 6M fewer Americans in 2020

Yes.

Even Fox was starting to concede Harris was going to win leading up to Election Day because everyone’s internals were saying that. If they weren’t, that is a major news story that every media outlet would have been reporting on.

Democrats lost bigly. She was obviously an ineffective campaigner.

There's no conspiracy.

Democrats need to dust themselves off and do better next time.

The GOP just kicked ass on a liberals are too radical and out of touch about the economy. Nominating a slick-hair from "Commiefornia" ain't the answer.

I disagree. The "big tent" strategy no longer works. If it's true that Harris failed at the one thing she needed to do (drive up turnout) then we should gather as much data as we can about the people who stayed home. I have a feeling they didn't stay home because she was from California.

If the racism/misogyny theory holds, then a bold Gavin Newsom who stands up to Trump could energize the people who had stayed home.

Why do we have to cater to the opinions of people who are here illegally?  I live in a very red county and used to have a job in the AG industry. Obviously, tons of illegals at the work force. Many times illegals were pulled over and given speeding tickets and sent on their way despite no license/ registration/ legal ID. Now the ones that were arrested on violent charges were gone. Immigrants are needed in the work force for plenty of varying jobs. But it should still be done legally and by OUR process of obtaining a visa through a thorough background check.

It's easier to exploit them and suppress wages under the current system.

Pretty good candidate there for our next Clinton. Too bad we won't be allowed to have a competitive election in 2028.

Even if Gavin won it was only 4 years, the fundamentals are devastating, people really believe the Trump is good for the economy bit and nothing will change that, except the cold water of reality, once the administrative state is dismantled, once millions of people are fired from the state, once all handouts are halted and we do pure austerity which will also kill the gig economy people are paycheck to paycheck on, maybe then will this change after people suffer reality, the US is in a slow decline economically, way better than the OECD, but weaker than China, and that is what is allowing Trump to win razor thin margins in the blue wall.

End the fillibuster, accelerationsm is a bad idea for elections, but it is obvious being schackled and schakling idiots is not fixing reality.

Wait, there's going to be a next time?  The MAGA fascists have packed the Supreme Court with their stooges and have already essentially made the President a king.  Trump has already promised that his followers won't have to vote again.  He's absolutely going to stuff MAGA loyalists into every position in government while getting rid of anyone who isn't.  The Republicans own the House and Senate now, too.

So why do we all think there will actually be another election?  Just one little pesky rule saying Presidents can only serve two terms.  Easy to get rid of that.  And if you think that's too crazy to happen, look at where the fuck we are.  A rapist, a convicted felon, who sold American secrets to our enemies, who tried to overthrow the election four years ago, is now President again.  This is the darkest timeline, friends.  The American Reich is here.

The Dems need to find their own "Trump".  Someone who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, is white, a chronic liar, clinically narcissistic, spoiled, stupid, fat and utterly clueless about...well, everything, to run for POTUS.

The Reps have the only one I can think of.

At least go back to a standing filibuster. I'd have no issue whatsoever if the GOP enacted that Day 1. You think you have great actual policies for America that now the majority think they want? Let's see 'em. You've got two years.

Except that people who employ them in great numbers don't want any of that. It gets more expensive. Immigration is the ultimate red herring and I doubt we see anything beyond maybe the bill that Donald quashed in the spring might fly through now that the R's will control both houses and the presidency. If Pee Wee German wants to round up and deport 20M illegal immigrants, be my fucking guest. I'm in a let-the-motherfucker-burn-down territory now.

The problem was that Biden didn't have the foresight to see that he was a one term president.  After the midterms, he should have announced he wasn't going to run and they'd have a resulting primary.  My guess is Whitmer would have won that.

The problem is that Beau Biden died and Joe didn't run in 2016.

We need shock therapy, people need to suffer reality, maybe after 40% GDP drop after dozens of millions of people are fired by Musk and 100% tariffs drive prices up the wall maybe then people will understand how good they had it. Frankly I don't think the Biden Kumbaya would even win in 2028 assuming elections are free then.

The part I agree with is that "Trump Bad" is a losing message. I voiced my concerns about this many times in the other threads, about how all these clapback and snark videos were implementing the wrong strategy. I didn't want to be right, though.

This is the only thing I disagree, Walz was the best option, being murdered by "its the economy stupid" vote is what killed us. And Bill Clinton is to blame for demanufacturin we are just paying the price 20 years later.

I watched trumps celebration speech. I don't think he's the right guy, but it was noticeably different without all the negative parts - he kept the message positive which is somewhat new for him.

Yeah, the VP pick likely wouldn't have mattered enough, but probably couldn't have hurt to have one truly gifted orator between the 4 candidates.

i think the biggest issue (and there were several), was a lack of a primary. voters didn’t choose the democratic candidate. kamala was often viewed as an underperformer as vp.

and that issue came from biden, his handlers, the dnc, anyone that could have stepped in and said yo, you’re too old for another term. when there was plenty of time and opportunity to do exactly that.

it was too little, too late.

even so it’s still an utter shock.

probably moreso than 2016.

even trump supporters seemed not to believe in his chances and were ready to claim voter fraud or whatever the fuck.

you’ll hear no comments of voter fraud today after they spent months of diminishing and questioning the legitimacy of our electoral process.
