Will Rogers on trickle-down economics:

"The money was all appropriated for the top in the hopes that it would trickle down to the needy. Mr. Hoover didn’t know that money trickled up. Give it to the people at the bottom and the people at the top will have it before night, anyhow. But it will at least have passed through the poor fellow’s hands."

Looks like it's passing through Jontay's hands pretty damn quick.

Yeah - my comments about Cook being poor in one post and trickle down in another post was conflicting.  He was definitely trickling up :)

To further take this thread off topic, a friend of mine who did a lot of volunteer work with people across the wealth spectrum would say, "Poor people spend money; middle class people manage money; rich people invest money."

I keep seeing this thread pop up.

“What is this drug addled, malcontented criminal doing now?”

clicks thread …

”Oh, it’s just @TreatyOak stanning for this selfish loser and other idiotic shit around that. “

This guy took close to a million dollars from boosters at Texas, flushed it down the toilet, became a cancer in the locker room and then talked as much shit about Texas as he could on his way out the door, including attempting to poison the well with recruits and transfers he knew.

Fuck him. I am enjoying the premise that he remains unsigned with a new school. Someone will eventually bring him in, thinking they can fix him, and he’ll blow them up from the inside as well.

Redemption story? Right. GTFO.

While true, it's about necessity. You have the option to invest when the necessities are all comfortably covered.

The really pathetic thing is so many in this thread acting as if they know him or actually have insight into his problems.  People still think it was some kind of malcontent, attitude, playing time issue.

Human beings are complex.  There is a murky intersection of character, substance abuse, and mental health struggles.  Nobody here knows him well enough to pull apart those strands and analyze him in any kind of productive way.  I realize this is a message board and all, but if there ever were a thread that needs to wither away and die because there is absolutely nothing of value to be gained, it is this one.

I hadn’t clicked on this thread in months. I already stated why I clicked now. Your stan efforts replaced what I thought might be actual news. Your entire post here is thoughtless projection.

Upset cause I'm sharing updates about Johntay Cook...in the Johntay Cook updates thread.

The thing is, no one gives a single fuck about Johntay except you. It's weird behavior.

Yet here you here.

Because I’m a complex human being I’m going to keep bumping this thread for years.

Johntay is posting workout stuff and his fashion style. The NCAA spring transfer portal cycle for the 2025 college football season will officially open on Wednesday, April 16 and remain open through Friday, April 25.

James Everett Jr is _routegod so guessing that is whom is training Johntay. While Everette didn't have a college career, his intense WR training techniques have made him a very popular private coach for players like Antonio Brown.

So he's used to mentally unstable clients?

Let's catch up with Johntay.

After our little Dec-Jan bump in the road, @_jaythegreat_ is back to normal posting. He recently took time out from his grinding videos (which is the best thing he can be posting) to share plenty of plugs for Longhorns getting drafted. He even added a new fashion post, so his life is back to as normal as it can be.

However, his recent exploits have had a cost: Johntay has lost around three thousand followers.

I am paying close attention to see if he announces a landing spot. I wonder if some desperate D1 school will take a chance on him.

I don't wanna hear Fran Brown say shit about Sark anymore.

Great job of breaking the story last night.

I have no idea whether Johntay really cleaned up his act or not, but he did do a great job on social media of signaling to schools that he was trying to do the right thing. Let's hope he learned some important lessons from his derailment.

So many of us predicted he would never amount to anything after his fall and that no D1 school would touch him. Maybe he is going to prove us wrong. I sure hope so and wish him success. He posted this this morning.

I hope Syracuse has a run-focused offense.

Unless dropped passes are a big part of their passing game...

I mean the hilarity was the E-Rob saga, Aggies paid the DC of Syracuse to go to recruits houses and poach their players on Aggie's dime and recruit time.

Fuck, I forgot all about that dipshittery. Please tell me that at least one of those recruits ended up at Syracuse.

Obviously if you’re Syracuse and he falls into your lap, you take a stab at it.  Cut him loose quick if he’s a cancer or lazy.  I wish him the best. I was really excited about him at Texas and hope he gets his shit together.  I have my doubts though.  I don’t think Washington tells him to hit the bricks so quickly if his issues are minor/ easily fixable.

Coach Fran got the former OSU QB to come in and make 2024 “respectable.” How 2025 will go, with J Cook, is an unknown for everyone?

Fran Brown was on the Pat McAfee Show during mid-season last year talking about not showering post-victory for their trip home? Something about relishing the victory?

I, for one, am pleased at this. I couldn't give a fuck about Syracuse, so young Mr. Cook being there means I can watch their games and gain some understanding of What Could Have Been if he hadn't shit in his own britches in Austin and Seattle.

Good luck to him, better luck to us.

Syracuse is a much better landing spot than I was expecting. Maybe (hopefully) a semester out of D1 football snapped him back to reality and he’ll take advantage of this.

I will say that Cook is probably more likely to have learned humility from his recent experience than Shadeur Sanders.

But that ain't saying much.

Another thing I learned about his brother Shilo was he "played" for Scar before following daddy. He's also 25, which is...almost Chris Weinke age when he went back to college. Not sure how he's gonna pay that dude $7m, but it won't be making my Bucs roster an UDFA.

Didn’t he just get fucking smoked by some WR in mini camp?
