Do you actually believe the Democratic Party or candidate is MORE LIKELY to enact oppressive and racist criminal laws than the Republican Party?

Certainly both parties are guilty of similar malfeasance in this area, but to vote third party on some unrealistic claim of repealing or not adding to the criminal morass, given the current circumstances is, well  . . . something.

It's pretty well established that independent voters often swing elections. If independent voters don't ever do anything to force the two main parties to court them, then we end up with the parties catering to the extremes.

I think by promising to enforce immigration laws and to savagely beat and deport every single last illegal immigrant to god knows where, Republicans actually did court independents.

JD Vance and Ken Paxton already immediately rushed to Twitter to moan about "disgusting attack on our brave ICE agents" before bothering to learn anything about the shooting.

The insane wing of MAGA twitter is pumping a conspiracy theory that it was a jihadi attack on ICE for arresting a muslim brotherhood member yesterday.

I will be interested to learn where they were firing from.  The news keeps saying it was a sniper.

I don't think there is a lot of great spots there.  There's an office building around 6 or 7 stories high about a 1/4 mile away.  That would be a hell of a shot.

They hit detainees (one), but who they were aiming at is anyone's guess.  That the shooter dropped a detainee, then proceeded to take themselves off the map is curious.  Makes you wonder is the agent was the target, detainee hit by mistake, shooter freaks at their mistake.

The shooter came up there in the dark and shot right at daybreak, so they could have probably gotten a lot closer. And considering they got multiple hits, I bet they weren't too far away.

Local channel 8 is saying 2 detainees dead another injured. Officers had located the shooter and were closing in on him when he popped himself.

uuh yeah...That theory sounds like a theory I friend of mine always said about the Kennedy assassination, and he was flat out serious.

He said Oswald did it, but he was aiming at Connally and missed.  He said Connally was making a push to exile all folks of Russian blood from Texas and that would have included Oswald's wife Marina.

You have to be a seriously low information voter these days to proclaim yourself to be independent. When one party is fully aligned with Christian nationalism and Project 2025, you’re either all-in with fascist policies or you’re not.

  • 8mm Mauser
  • Anti-ICE written on the casings
  • Apparently fired indiscriminately into the side of the van transporting the detainees
  • Offed themselves when pursued by officers, not immediately after firing

Five unspent shell casings arranged in a row on a wet, dark concrete surface. Each casing is engraved with the phrase "ANTI ICE" in blue ink. The casings are brass-colored and pointed at the top.

Name is Joshua Jahn, 29yr old from McKinney

Found a Facebook account under that name. The guy in the photos looks like he's about that age. Although no location is provided, he posted the photo below of his young daughter about two years ago, which garnered a lot of likes from folks in the Dallas area.

Edit: I'll also note that there's absolutely no political content on this profile, but I'm not posting the link to it for obvious reasons.

There's suspiciously fast pics in gruesome detail of the deceased shooter on the roof.  Not posting.  Definitely NSFW.

Much like recovering a full clip of ammo after a shooting, a lot about this is pretty weird and suspicious

With "ANTI-ICE" written on it in Sharpie it appears. Also, the one fact the FBI agent in charge made sure to get out was that there was anti-ICE material on the bullet casings. And, yep, according to Kash Patel's tweet it says "ANTI-ICE" right there on it. Nope, not fishy at all. Not to mention I found it odd that in the midst of the opening presser for this type of situation, giving that info out with EVERYTHING going on in this country the past few weeks.

He could be absolutely saying he is anti-ice and may have absolutely felt that way, but he purposely shot the one in handcuffs.

For law enforcement to come out there and blatantly say he was targeting law enforcement, when none of them got so much as a stumped toe and it's the prisoners that are dead and wounded, that is lowdown scumbag shit.

I don't think too many immigrants came here from concentration camps in El Salvador, Sudan, Libya, and Uganda

Apparently he shot indiscriminately into the windowless transport van.  Not when they were being moved to the van.  You'd have the detainees in the back - larger target with the officers up front.

Those are 8mm FMJ rounds.  Not much stopping those.  They'd go straight through both sides of the van and those inside.

I'd still like to know where two-thirds of the 1,800 people forced into the concentration camp in the Everglades were disappeared to when it was shut down.

Why would that be curious?  It happens all the time.  A huge percentage of mass shooters end it by killing themselves.  Did you also wonder that in all the other mass shooting suicides or just this one?

This is so bizarre.

On the one hand, if an immigrant credibly claims to be unwelcome and endangered in her "home country," it seems humane to send them back, and better to send them somewhere else and to make arrangements to find someplace that will welcome them.

On the other hand, if an immigrant is believed to be unwelcome and endangered in their home country, why aren't they granted asylum?

Many of those detained showed up at their asylum hearings. Hearings which now are staffed by legal personnel from the military. The cases are dismissed, and ICE arrests them outside the courtroom. Labeling those folks illegal is wrong. Period.

I didn't know at the time the shooter ended themself from the pursuit of officers, not abruptly after taking the shots.

Btw, I looked for an official source on the shooter's name and came up with bupkis so far, other than the NY Post, The Economic Times, and a bunch of Indian sites, all very questionable. The only credence I'd give to the NY Post would be its ties to the regime.

Glad to see yall worried about missing immigrants now. Many thousands of unaccompanied minors are unaccounted for. And no I don't mean Potus inflated stats.

Someone should find these missing migrant children so that we can lock them in cages in the Florida everglades!

"Our last batch of evidence to go after the left wasn't good enough, can you be more blatant this time?"

Yeah, for sure.  Anti ICE, but somehow didn't hit a single actual ICE agent or guard.

It's like when the FSB was trying to plant evidence in the lead up to invading Ukraine and accidently left some sim city game packages out instead of SIM cards.

What I am marveling at, though, is that the idea of a "third country removal" is something that came up long ago, before immigration went insane and before Trump turned it into this.  It was not a punitive move, but rather a humane one.

Still prompts the question I raised though.

The way this guy sprayed an ICE detention? facility (if that's what this was, or was it a court-type facility?), seems about equally likely he was aiming to expedite some detainee removals.

Why not?  Do you know what goes on at these facilities?  Whether it's more likely to contain immigrants or ICE officers?

A regime that brags about blowing up boat loads of people that could have been interdicted and arrested doesn’t inspire certainty that this couldn’t have been staged. They have no qualms about killing humans to score political points.

He fired directly at a windowless ICE van and into the ICE facility.  In what way is this not a direct attack against ICE?  That he was too much of an idiot and hit detainees instead speaks to unprepared he was.

Or was the plan to wait until people were apprehended, then wait outside of the facility with a rifle and then carefully try and take them out as they were walked to the vehicle and perfectly time the entire thing?
