Orioles swept Padres (yeesh), but SD did get this badass play:

Thank god the birds swept them.  Dodgers in a tailspin.  20-22 since the AS break.  But have something like a plus 30 run differential.  They are just feast or famine it seems.

All the good teams except NYY and BOS are treading water/going backwards right now.

current playoff team’s L10:

2-8: San Diego

3-7: Detroit

4-6: Seattle

5-5: Milwaukee, Philly, LA, Chicago, Toronto, Houston

6-4: NYM

7-3: Boston

8-2: NYY

We have no room for Breggy so good luck. Probably staying with Boston

Nah, I was wrong. stupid move, but fuck it, he will have more cash than I ever will.

Veteran third baseman Alex Bregman has been a perfect fit for the Boston Red Sox in his first year with the team, but he reportedly could be a one-and-done in Beantown.

Bregman's three-year, $120 million contract with the Red Sox includes opt-outs after each of the first two seasons, and ESPN's Jeff Passan reported that "barring an injury or catastrophic slump, he will opt out" to become one of the top free agents on the market this winter.

Bregman has appeared in 95 games for the 78-63 Red Sox and is hitting .281, his highest batting average since the 2019 season when he was still with the Houston Astros. He's added 16 home runs and 54 RBI, earning his third career All-Star selection and first since 2019.

It was due-diligence and a smart move. The Astros are known cheaters and a scrub like Trammel getting an extra base hit is an extreme rarity. There’s nothing wrong with checking to make sure everything was above-board. The umpires looked at it and kept the game moving, it wasn’t a problem.

Lulz. I won’t waste my time on the first 3 sentences.

For the last, the umps didn’t just look at it and keep the game moving.

they went to New York to figure out what to do and included multiple conversations with the managers.

it was a 6 minute delay. 3% of the game.

I hate that I have this thought, but sadly I predict pretty soon we’re going to find this kind of stuff is staged so a shitty dad can live out his dream of getting some autographed merch that he never got when he was a kid.

(maybe I’m just bitter all my son got last week before an Astros game was an autograph by Craig Kimbrel ….

just kidding.  my boy proudly came back showing off that autograph so who am I to judge )

My dad would’ve laughed in that lady’s face and told her to fuck off. Different times for sure.
