LF is much easier especially in our park

For left fielders. He’s not a left fielder by anyone’s metrics. Nor is he an outfielder in anybody’s metrics. That’s the quandry.

He's a DH on a team that already has 2 or 3 already.

As long as Yordan is on the team, Altuve needs to play a position. If Altuve moves to DH while Yordan is out, then he isn’t getting reps in LF. He needs the reps and he hasn’t been terrible out there.

This is true. Doesn’t change anything with regard to playing left except to get him on the field. Would you not prefer a left fielder?

Again, that is the quandry we are dealing with. I would rather put him back at 2b when Yordan is out. It will probably come out about even stat wise.

Mini-sweep of a mini-major league team

Ouch. With that said… I can empathize with As fan. I was on the BART going home from SF for the perfect game. And heard some drunk Giants fan say something like, “I don’t know if it was that impressive, Astros are not a major league team.”

I would love to get to 98 wins but we’re injured galore and would need to get healthy to see 98 wins.  Hell I’d be happy with 90 wins at this point.

down 3 starters and 2 star / franchise bats from last season

maybe espada and staff are good at guessing on the coaching decisions ?

I’m not saying we are winning 98. We might win 102.

After rewatching tonight.

Altuve should only ever play 2nd base or DH.

Cam Smith may be a killer soon.

I mean- he can do more harm defensively at 2B than left field, but neither are a great option.
he just needs to be a 110 or 120 ops+ guy and we can fade either.

5 over. 4 in a row. It’s happening bitches. I told andrew 22-11 going into July 4 with dodgers. That would put us on a 98 win pace and I’m sure in lead of division.

I’m starting to like this team :). Your podcast partner’s hate screed, which I enjoyed reading, has helped turn things around.

Cam Smith is a big leaguer. He will win a championship before G Henderson , B Whitt Jr, and E. DeLaCruz

How he gonna win a chip if the Astros are a 70 win team?

True dat.

i think D brown gets shit canned this year and we open the purse strings and get a real pitching coach and bring in some real pitchers make a run in 27

Pitching isn't our problem.  Pitching development is the organization's superpower.  Throughout the injuries they keep running new spares out there and getting good performances.

I don’t understand why Whitcomb isn’t playing 2B a lot in the minors. That’s the position he’s going to have to play if he’s going to be a part of this team. He's done everything that can reasonably be expected of him in the minors. Time to graduate him I think.

Isotopes Park, man that stadium and environment are top notch. One of the best experiences minor league or Pro. New Mexican food is not Tex mex but the rest of the food in the stadium is really good. Just a fun time.
