I meant the rule doesn’t bind Sark to anything. The back bend is it supposedly doesn’t apply to defensive players now because of Muschamp. It never applied or will apply to anyone Sark wants to keep offense or defense.

I think it might even mean…

We have a new DC that didn’t recruit you (as opposed to “i, sark, wash my hands completely of what happens on the defensive side of the ball”) so there is leeway if you change your mind (especially if you’re a player we covet).

I’ll buy Flood is one of Bobby’s sources. He called him an “adequate recruiter” today and spun the Jake G and Sprague losses away as “you can’t overcome familiarity”.

Sounds like a guy comforting his friend at the bar after his wife left him for the tennis pro.

Brandon Harris has:

1) Congressional Medal of Honor

2) Fluent in French, Swahili and Mandarin

3) Call of Duty 5 Star General rating

4) United Nations Special Intern for Guam

all listed on his resume on the first half of his first page. This guy is a fucking wizard.

The type of guy to put "Time's Person of the Year 2006" on his resume

I mean, a parking lot is the third best view in College Station. Better than campus and a landfill, edged out by anyone with a 10 foot fence, and of course the exit out of town.

Better than a view of the flooring guy's trailer?

He's already been beaten at least twice in the running game. He can't block any dlineman 1 on 1.

He's not supposed to. He's combo blocking like a mofo with that RG of Miami's.

He also just threw a huge block to spring that TD.

Ohio State On3 mods starting to warn that Bo Jackson could be entering the portal soonIMG_9729.jpeg

Is Bo Jackson worth that kind of money? He’s a pretty special player that took over a pretty good back in James Peoples.

Of course now we can see what Lacy wants since Ole Miss lost.

So... some Ole Miss players will be showing up in the portal within 10+2 days(?).
Lots of them are already portal-prepared.

go get em

Lacy signed a deal to return to Ole Miss next year. So did their kicker. We should drop a big ass bag on Malachi Toney after the championship game. I guess we get to find out if we have been working on that Ole Miss guard or not.

It's a little hard to judge Bo Jackson. An ungodly number of his runs are so well blocked that he's just running free in space. Who knows how he would do behind our line.

Edited by RabidM

Would absolutely love to get a couple Ole Miss OL.

Plus the melt on Tigerdroppings would be glorious since they think they are about to get whoever from Ole Miss.

Miami is spending money and absolutely would never let Toney go. I doubt anyone even seriously tries

Is Miami all in? Because we for sure are.

Is Bo Jackson seriously in the portal? Who’s next, Orenthal James Simpson? This portal thing has gone completely off the rails.

He signed a deal before the bowl game and the came back and asked for 4x...probably because Tech tampered.

How in the fuck can anyone be expected to actually read this thread?

An absolute force. Warn he a 99 rating, I remember playoff until I had no fingers. He and Barry Sanded.

FWIW - Gerry said tonight that Texas is in on Tre Richardson. Tre is supposed to visit this weekend and Gerry thinks Texas would take both Richardson and Coleman if they had the opportunity.

Toney isnt going anywhere my man, Miami will match any offer

Bobby and Gerry while much maligned by me this week, brought up an interesting point today.

Maintaining depth is going to be a real problem at Texas. With revenue sharing, schools like Maryland can offer our backups more money and a starting job.

Very difficult waters to navigate that will require a seasoned, professional front office. Not some guy that lists Call of Duty under job skills.

Depth simply does not matter at this point beyond reasonable injury insurance. Investing in future years is a waste when everyone is on a 1 year contract.

Raleek wasn’t cheap, I doubt if we add another back it will be that caliber. Put Coleman money to OL if that doesn’t pan out (think we should regardless but whatever)

I’m not kidding or being sarcastic when I say that some of the allegedly best lawyers in the world have looked at the Texas stuff. If the UT agreements don’t have serious teeth, no contracts do. Whatever the case, the Big 10 contracts will quickly be mimicked if there is any concern for a program about their contracts otherwise, all over the country. Finally something in favor of sanity has shown back up in CFB.

Maneuvering the legal intricacies of today's landscape should go swimmingly for the program whose greatest hits include "Seahawks 12th Man Settlement", "Jimbo Contract", and most recently "Elko Extension".

Approx. Number of Living Alumni

1

Indiana University Alumni Association

~805,000

2

Penn State University Alumni Association

~802,556

3

University of Michigan Alumni Association

~697,287

4

UCLA Alumni Association

~670,000

5

Ohio State University Alumni Association

~600,000

6

University of Texas at Austin (Texas Exes)

~600,000+

7

Purdue University Alumni Association

~600,000

8

Texas A&M University Alumni Association

~593,000

9

UC Berkeley Alumni Association

~580,000

10

Michigan State University Alumni Association

~550,000

Based on data from here. 3 years ago, we would have asked, what the hell are all of the alumni from Indiana, UCLA, Purdue, and Berkeley doing with all of their money? Why do their football teams suck so bad.

The link above redirects to school sites, referring to "Alumni Association" for Purdue, "Living Former Students" for Aggy, "Texas Exes" for UT (refers to Alumni), and IU refers to Alumni. I may be picking nits, but I have always wondered about Texas A&M's numbers being inflated. Not that it really matters...

UCLA has so many living alums because Southern Californians take care of themselves than trying to eat and drink like college students well into their 50s

Regarding: Indiana & Penn State system alums vs others…

What happened to the rumors about him headed to BYU?

BYU’s defensive coordinator left to join Whittington at Michigan. I’m guessing the opportunity was no longer available or he didn’t care to play for the replacement. Either way I’d be shocked if he signed for more than he would have made at Texas.

Maybe. Just saw above Colorado has 30 something players leaving. They got some spending to do
