The servers are gonna melt when Goosby declares.

Just wait until the news on Clark comes out. The good news is we won’t have an offensive line to block for our empty running back room anyway.

I feel very bad as of right THIS second. Can't make a kid take money. Texas had substantially higher offers on the table for both them and all the other portal names that chose to return to school

This is funny, we’ve got 10 pages of people wailing about Bobby’s quote that Texas generally doesn’t recruit the lower levels for the portal. And when they did bring a guy in it turns out he was appreciably smaller than his measurements.

Interestingly enough - the UTSA DL that visited wasn’t offered because he measured in smaller as well (per Bobby). Is Flood in charge of both lines now?

You can’t make someone take money to play for Flood. He has to be able to close these guys and can’t.

OK at this point it’s getting fucking ridiculous. We had no linebackers for the citrus bowl so this dude is obviously played into a starter next year. What the fuck is the story here?

It's not about playing time. almost none of this is.

Is the recruiting pitch really just that bad?

Should the NCAA force Sprague to transfer to Texas?

No disrespect to the Wolverines, but I'm a firm believer that Sprague not transferring to Texas is a huge fluke and robs the Longhorns of truly accomplishing what they’re capable of. I've spent the last few minutes in pure disbelief and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've spent the entire regular season watching Texas have shitty o-line play it's just not fair.

If Sprague is not happy in Austin then I will face the fact that he belongs in Ann Arbor, but I am just 100% sure it was a fluke and does a big disservice to Texas and college football.

2026 sucks so far.

2026 season is on red alert given this OL situation.

cool, cool, cool. Just a lovely plan the staff put together for OL recruiting. Sark should have fired Flood last year.

How are other schools allowed to pursue both Cam Coleman and the PItt WR?

Our top targets at positions of need are coming from schools with transition coaches and Sark/Brandon are getting out recruited. This isn't NIL problems.

Good job, guys.

Texas OL recruiting..... and the OL room

This Is Fine Shiba Inu GIF by Doge Poundwill smith empty room GIF

You can all them misses but it looks more like Harris is getting played and he’s too fucking dumb to notice. I have ran sales teams for a long time and there are some sales people that think they are going to close every deal and bring it to management stating that. Then there is always a reason it never pans out. The GM has to have a better pulse of what is actually possible. Being publicly connected to five guys that all returned to the original schools sounds like agents know to fucking jerk off Harris. None of these guys went to another school, this just seems like terrible sourcing by Harris and anyone that reports to him.

Maybe Sark declined to really hit the portal last year for OL because he knew how bad he would be at it.

Maybe the real recruits were the friends we made along the way.

I was talking about this at lunch with a fellow Texas recruiting obsessive.

We both decided that something has to be up with Flood / Sark / the OL room. Putting my homerism aside, this is an excellent program in a great city. We have consistently been putting OL in the NFL since Sark arrived. We have plenty of money and have not been tightfisted in our offers for quality OL. It's tempting to chalk it up to simple incompetence - we put all our eggs in the Michigan basket and it fell through, and we didn't bother tampering with anyone else. But it seems like it's more than that. It seems unlikely that Flood and Sark, both of whom have plenty of experience in this sort of thing and have had success in the past, are just dumb.

I don't mean it as a conspiracy theory or anything. But something stinks about this whole situation. There are just too many quality OL across the CFB landscape for it to be this hard for Texas to bring in a few. Even a dumb coach should be able to land a few without trying that hard.

Texas needs: IOL, RB, LB, WR, DB, TE

Other than at RB where the reported primary targets opted to stay home -Which of their top choices have they missed out on?

RB and OL have now both had multiple misses on our top choices.

No big deal though, it's not like substandard recruiting and development has left massive holes to fill in those areas or anything.

I look at it like this. We all know whose responsible for the poor O Line Recruiting?

PK

That fucker keeps distracting Sark from doing his job.

There are plenty of IOL and RB in the portal. When Coleman goes elsewhere the Vandy WR and other options are great as well at WR.

We aren't substandard yet. But will be by early next week if we keep missing.

0-5 on their ‘All-in’ targets: Baugh, Brown, Michigan OL1, Michigan OL2, Woods.

Just Coleman left.

We can’t bitch and complain about how awful the O-Line is if there is no O-Line. Big brain move by Flood honestly.

Has anyone ever had this many guys enter the portal clearly intent on signing with them, only to see them go back to where they came? Isaac Brown (it counts), Woods, 2 Michigan OLs. Unbelievable level of fuckery from the staff

does the tree symbolize actual portal news updates or does the it symbolize the posts from this thread? Sophie’s choice.

Odds that arch hits the portal? This is a disgrace. From the outside it looks like amateur hour for idiots

Texas is clearly the stalking horse for players who want a big offer to leverage against their existing P4 school. Harris and Flood have to be replaced if they are unable to pull a rabbit out of a hat here. On the verge of blowing the Arch era due to incompetent OL roster management.

I prefer the way other teams tamper. Portal opens and they are announcing signing players within 24 hours. Fuck this giving them time to figure shit out or visit stuff.

Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian is kicking off 2026 with a BANG: I'm told WRs coach Chris Jackson is locked in on a new two-year deal, and Texas GM Brandon Harris has also been extended. Both are key staff members for Sarkisian. Happy New Year!

Great, and we have visits lined up with - checks notes - exactly zero IOL. The Michigan dude that turned us down just now wasn't even an IOL.

Looks like it was: “we’ll be done at OL by Friday because we can’t get anyone.”
