Just a guess, but I'd say Nebraska given the red, the olds, and the time period it appears to be from.

What we need is for pussy posters to check their tampons and quit bleeding every time something happens that they perceive to be bad.

You bled all over the board after Florida because OU was going to murder us. You bled all over the board because A&M was going to murder us. You’re bleeding all over the board because of portal news. Take your emotions out of it.

The homes during the 1st quarter of the most notorious game thread pussy bleeders.

How will the Texas offense succeed during this game with no semblance of a running game?

Michael Terry was ranked a 5* athlete, I imagine he'll get touches at RB, as will Ryan Niblett.  Between those two and the 2RB still on roster we will have 4 deep who can rush.  What i don't have calculated is if this game will violate any RS participation max, as that would alter things.  Overall Im really looking forward to a bunch of new faces getting PT.

I’ve found that being a borderline sociopath has actually benefitted me as a fan of CFB over the past 4 years. Seeing things develop for what they are and not being burdened with sentiment enabled me to find a path in the chaos that ultimately helped in all of the change.

I do understand not liking the business and purely transactional aspects of it all. The thing everyone needs to either remind themselves of or realize is that there was a major transactional component before all of this, going on almost 20 years, and Texas and many other schools were being fucked because of it. The whole “having integrity and not being a shitty fucking cheater” thing kept routinely getting in the way. Once that’s framed right in one’s mind, it makes it all easier to swallow. I know you know this, but there are others who do not seem to grasp any of it.

Borderline sociopaths would be my first choice for a band name if I had even an ounce of musical acumen.

I personally like the age of CFB that gives us an advantage, it’s about damn time.  It wouldn’t surprise me if the programs that are the most interested in a salary caps are the same ones that benefitted from paying players under the table.   Even the playing field so they can get back to the good old days of cheating?  Yeah, nope.

I like the idea that a place like Indiana can make a run instead of just alternating MNCs between Bama/UGA/LSU/Clemson.

Cooper as well

You bring up a good point, which is that Niblett probably approximates Wisner's output for 75% of the plays we run with him as the featured back.  He's probably less effective on inside zone and power but fine for most everything else that just requires him to find space.  No idea on his blocking, that's more than likely a down-grade.

Post the time stamp because I didn’t hear him say that this morning.

Cooper won't be playing in this game.

We did pretty good with zero run game this year

That was the joke.

I'm not a big NFL guy, but this move makes me wonder how confident his people are in his ability to get drafted high and remain on a roster. Will he ever have the measurables that NFL scouts want to see at the combine? If they lack confidence, that would explain the strategy of trying to get as much as he can while he's in college

His NFL prospects are limited because he's slow, especially for his size.

Anyone know what Wisner was paid this year?

Tree fiddy

Edited by Sgt Hulk

I think you can fully understand why this happened and still be a little bummed about it. We had to upgrade the RB spot and if Wisner wasn’t okay with that then both parties needed to move on. But as a fan, it does feel like you can’t really have favorite scrappy types anymore. Once an underdog like Wisner (he was an afterthought in his recruiting class), gets a bigger profile, this ending seems almost inevitable.

As for the rules, the only thing I want more regulated are these agents. Some of these guys are morons.

As I understand it, bowl games don't affect RS status.

Isn't there a rule where you can't play in a game the same year as your last year in high school?  In previous years the players can practice, but that's it.

I don't think Cooper is allowed to play but even if he could, it'd be dumb to throw him out there with zero college practices

Bowl games have no impact of RSing.

What about HS early enrollees?  I commented on @Im_smarter_then_you 's post that Cooper could not play, but maybe Im actually am not smarter than him

Cooper cannot play.

Nibbles has completely blown me away with his improvement on PRs from start of season to MissSt game, but the dude can’t (or couldn’t) run the ball out of the backfield. His YPC (3.0) is worse than Baxter’s (3.6).

This happened last year with Justus Terry now that I think about it.  He could practice during the playoffs, but couldn't play.

A few of the early enrollees are practicing, but they cannot play in the bowl game.

This was my thought. He's good in space where he can get going on PRs. He hasn't shown great wiggle or vision starting out of the backfield thus far.

Maybe his touches this season have helped though. I'd be thrilled for him to prove us wrong in this game.

Reined in how?  A salary cap?  That just brings the bag game back.

If they were paying players when it was illegal to do such they sure as heck aren't going to abide by a salary cap.

I don't know - I don't have a solution.   The only thing that I could think would be a transfer deterrent would be something like one free transfer, but then you have to sit out a year like it used to be.

I'm sure there are legalities that would prevent this - but maybe NIL paid over certain amount of years, or pending/pro-rated based upon 'contract' fulfillment.   The problem is that it's independent donors, so I don't know how you regulate them.

The best solution is probably just to let Texas do what they want, and regulate everyone else - but i'm just spitballing here.

My head cannon has always been vs Tech right after Brackens killed their kicker.

I’m not sure his “advisors” are advising for shit. If they were, they’d have been telling his dumb ass not to put the majority of his NIL into shitty, gaudy jewelry. They also wouldn’t be telling him he can get $1M from some other school.

So, let me get this straight…..when a player decides to enter the portal, he believes another school will pick him up, or….he has been in contact with another school and knows he will get picked up for a pre-determined amount of $$$.   If he is hoping to get picked up, but does not…can he return to his team, if the team wants to take him back?

Texas doesn't take people back. But yes other schools can.

I could have sworn we took Blue back, but maybe it was just an announcement and he never actually entered the portal. But no one is officially in the portal right now.

Can, yes; May he? Not per Sark. Portal entry is one-way street. Buh-bye.

I guess injury concerns weigh into this, but I'd like the 20 carries Wisner might get in the bowl game would be useful for advertising myself going into the portal.

Presumably he's saying "I'll rest on my performance in the A&M game".

Watch this mornings show from the top - its one of the first things Bobby said.  Tre's agent asked for a million.  And then Tre requested his name be entered into the portal without ever talking to the coaches (also according to Bobby).

If I recall he also didn’t show up to leave with team during this. Complete shit way to enter the portal.

More like Arch looking at the WR, RB and Oline rooms. Arch must be thinking, "This shit is not what I expected for my last year."
