LLWS doesn't start until next Wednesday 8/13 but Richmond Lamar LL plays Eastbank LL from Kenner, LA at 6pm today for the Southwest Region title and a spot in Williamsport.

Lamar got both breaks in the format by having the only first round bye in the 7 team tournament and now only having to beat Eastbank once due to the "Wichita State" made for TV format. Lamar's team appears to be mostly the Lamar Elite travel club based on a quick glance earlier.

As always, unpage.org is a great resource for pre-LLWS results.

Yeah that was a terrible final decision by Little League. I love Little League but if you don't enforce the rules you are asking for problems. There is zero reason now for any tournament team not to relay signals from second base until they're caught twice. The book said that player and probably manager should have been ejected.

Congrats to Richmond Lamar. First team to join the US bracket in Williamsport.

3B made a helluva play to get the second out force at 2B .. kept the tying run from coming to the plate.  Put a ️in your scorebook …

I coached a lot of “little boy baseball” (as Mrs CL used to call it) at Lamar back in the day. Seems like almost every year our 12’s were supposed to be good enough to get to Williamsport but they never did (excluding the year I managed the all stars - we were not that good).

Nonetheless, Justin Pollard is a good guy so good for him and his bunch for finally breaking through. That’s awesome.

1st base umpire is having a night. Probably 3 to 4 calls of his been reviewed. Just 1 incorrect though

I tuned in for 2 innings and noticed he was standing on the line just past the bag, making calls at first.

The kids were having to dodge him as they ran through the bag.   Might help if he had slid over and gotten into proper position.

Which player would get ejected if 2 different were caught stealing signs?

I wouldn’t expect them to make much noise, the Louisiana team was better but Lamar lucked out on the format. Florida or Hawaii is taking it this year.

As written either both players or the second one and almost certainly the manager specifically because it was multiple players. Note that it doesn't say they "may" be ejected, it says they shall be.

Agreed that the West champion and Florida are better, but Lamar and Eastbank are essentially equal. Eastbank won 7-5 then Lamar won 5-2.

Helobious magic has already struck as the defending world champions Lake Mary, FL were just eliminated by South Carolina. SC is the second US team to qualify for Williamsport.

I saw that one, FL team blew a 4 run lead in the bottom of the 6th. Fade Helobious. Hard.

Felt really bad for FL pitcher, it was devastating.

LOL, Okie coach is probably a huge sooner fan/grad/dropout from the 80s. "If you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin." And LOL at how obvious it was, stupid fucking kids. How about some fucking subtlty!

This coach for NJ literally just told runner at 2B not to run into out at 3B.

Ball hit dead to SS and kid at 2B hauls ass to 3B where he is out by a mile. Coach looked like he wanted to throttle kid.

Watching Illinois vs Ohio and ohios getting taken to the wood house down 6. Ohio Kid draws a walk, kinda sprints to 1st base instead of half assing it then suddenly rounds first and tries stealing 2nd base. Pitcher runs over and tags him out at 2nd base lmao

Can honestly say I haven’t seen that one

Watching the NorCal SoCal.    Kids down 0-2. Coach calls timeout. Brings him over has a little chat. Kid steps in the box belts it to center field.    Love this time of the year

Thanks for mentioning.

Time stamped for 6th inn.   1 out from Williamsport, 4-1 lead,  close pitch for walk,  intentional walk with bases loaded for run, 2-2 count, 2 outs, double off the wall scores 3.

As often said, cruel game.

They intentionally walked a kid with the bases loaded, putting the winning run on base, and the next kid drove them all in?  Was Aaron Boone the Florida manager?

Corpus Christi Moody HS used to run that play if they had a runner just on third and the batter drew a walk. He’d jog to first casually then round hard to try and get to 2nd to induce a run down to let the guy on 3rd score.
