I get that there may have been some mistakes, but I don't buy the idea of many dire outcomes for people who are legit.  If that happened, it shouldn't have.  I am not a bomb thrower, despite my reputation here!

Do you know how you can best avoid those types of mistakes? Maybe some sort of judicial finding based on due process, a notion that's been around for, I dunno, about 800 years.

Yeah, we have been doing that drill for years.  Non-citizens have no due process.  Economic cases have no basis for amnesty.  Cloward-Piven strategy at work. No thank you.

Citizens apparently also have no due process, except for the luck of the draw. Again, we are seeing US citizens also being rounded up in this bullshit.

How about you go get yourself detained for a few days in Alligator Alcatraz and come back and report on how you feel about due process being denied to Americans because of their accents or skin color?

Putting Trump aside for the moment.

Stirring up crime fear among a non-involved populace and subsequent governmental over-reaction is one of the oldest political stunts in the book.  The governmental overreaction almost always involves terrible and expensive policy that sacrifices civil rights and does little or nothing for public safety.

Think satanic panic, Biden crime bill, Miami and cocaine, the examples are endless.

People are getting suckered in the worst possible way.

I've asked my more fascist-apologist friends how many innocent people wrongly detained and beaten and/or people punished far beyond the level of their crimes it will take to finally acknowledge that giving ICE carte blanche powers and occupying cities with military forces may be a bad idea.

You'll be shocked to learn that they are unable to provide a number, probably realizing deep down that any non horrifying number has long since been breached.

I am calling them Nazis. Rounding up people, including citizens for “deportation”, or simply extended stints in concentration camps with no due process is Nazi shit. I'm not sure its trolling, he sounds like a true believer who worships whatever lie his dear leader tells him about anything, but either way worth ignoring because you'll never convince them of facts they don't like because its an actual religion for them.

On what basis do you make this statement?  It is flat out incorrect and I'm surprised I haven't seen it immediately corrected.

Fourth Amendment

Doesn't say anything about which "people".  "The right of the people..." All people. 

Fifth Amendment

(Emphasis added).  No PERSON.  Doesn't say "citizen."  All people in the U.S. are afforded the right to Due Process.  Either everyone has it, or no one has it.
