Just imagine the same statement in the context of literally any other American assassination.

The evil that men do lives after them. The good is often interred in their bones.Requiescat in pace, Charlie.

there's 40% of the country whose brains are so broken they are not-so-silently celebrating this because they think it will help usher in the fascist rule they want. that same 40% are chastising everyone else pointing out this is exactly the country charlie advocated for. because, again, he thought it would usher in the fascist rule he wanted.

i won't name exactly who that might be on this board but you can read the DT thread and see who is negging what and get a good idea.

yeah you are fucked in the mind and dissociated with reality. That man is not responsible for any of those above things. Unfortunately, a non politician was shot for political reasons because he made too much sense to too many people. Idgaf what he said and what you do or don’t agree with… ppl throw out nazis, racist, fascist and kinda of other dumb bullshit. At the end of the day you are fuckin nobody on the internet on a site that 99.999% of the world doesn’t care about but throw out edgy opinions about a dude that got brutally killed in front of the millions that wait for it…. Commited no crime,  for internet points. Be better.

He said himself people should die for gun rights.  He did it.  Recommend you exhibit the same dedication.  Get out there and fly your flag brother !

Da fuq?

Wanting to hear from the killer before unilaterally and definitively declaring "He was killed because he engaged people in the public square, put his shit out there and gave others equal opportunity to put their shit out there. Our political climate doesn't like that sort of thing." is a controversial statement?

Histrionics is what you people who see the results of your rhetoric see pouring out of your veins and then crying about it do.  He said people have to die for the 2nd amendment.  He did it. Case closed. Why the histrionics?

It's 2025.  Nothing stays in the news cycle very long.

Look at how many stories in this very forum quickly drop out of sight, out of mind.  We're weeks, maybe even days away, from the largest, most infamous, pedophile/child smuggling/grooming ring dropping out of the news cycle.   Taylor Swift will announce some guests to her wedding, and somebody won't be invited, and the media will agonize over what it means, meanwhile driving more important stories off of the front pages of websites/media everywhere.

Total degeneracy. Yeah, I can't wait to hear from the assassin either.

I don't care what his actual words are. But, yes, it obviously matters what his motives were. Somehow I doubt it was because he just had to stop "equal opportunity public square" debates.

Don't be obtuse.

Get your personality disorders right man.

Gonna be helpful to have the right labels and common terminology as we lean into this death spiral.

I mean can’t we all agree that even if you are not interested in “hearing from the killer” that I dunno it might be at least something to catch the person first understand what the authorities believe to be background and motive before we sew this one all up in a tidy ball?

Do you think it was wrong to want to hear from Dylan Roof, Vance Luther Boelter, David DePape, or Timothy McVeigh?

He was talking about transgender mass shooters at the time… too much sense? It’s fucking propaganda. I can’t even tell you how many zeroes are in front of the number that gets you the percentage of trans people who are mass shooters. 5 out of 5700 man.

too much sense?

sorry bud, he should not have been shot. We need gun regulation. But he was not making sense he was preaching hate against people like ME.

I will not preach hate, but I will also not let it slide that he was making too much sense. People maybe have liked what he was saying but it was hatred. I will not abide that pile of whitewashed nonsense.

now someone please do the right thing and stop this nonsense. Let’s stop the gun violence. We all deserve better.

Not saying I agree. But I am saying he didn’t deserve to die the way he died. I mean the irony of his death gets some peoples dicks hard… that’s cool. That was a prominent figure that was shot for doing nothing but exercising his rights given to him by this country. End of story.

Before I can look forward to hearing the internal psychological justifications of a fucking assassin, I'm much more interested in actually having someone in custody, assessing the objective evidence, and determining potential motive based on evidence. I understand that this stuff may seem absurd to you.

Right because he thought all these years I should have the right to be me, live and love peacefully in this country.

what’s wrong with you man?

even as a libertarian back in the day the crap you spew now is not only disingenuous it is antithetical to what you used to believe.

and you sit and act like the guy didn’t spend his days hating people like me?

No end of story is we need to stop this nonsense with gun regulation. No one should die like this, so let’s do something about it.

You're pivoting to imagined insults against your personhood, throwing out keywords, and other nonsense. Dial down the persecution complex. I do not care one bit about what you want to do to your own body to work through your own psychological issues. The guy was assassinated with a hunting rifle. There is no relevant gun regulation proposals that would have changed the outcome here.

They do this for attention. You know this Jimmy. There is nothing that you can say that will get a reaction that is rooted in reality. You just let these folks go on living in their made up construct and move on. Putting people like that on ignore makes this place easier to read.

That's literally what we're saying, man.

Whatever point you thought you were making, it wasn't a good one. It happens.

You're the one claiming to already know why he was killed, not us.

You do not, literally, read well.

This exchange started with me pointing out that CK was responding to a inquiry started by someone in the audience and histrionics. We are running in circles here troph.

Yes, I'm sure when he said "he wants to hear what the killer has to say" he meant he's looking forward to his 60 Minutes' interview and wasn't referring to wanting to understand his motive.

But, in that vein, I suppose I used literally haphazardly (okay, incorrectly).

his answer was right in line with his consistent and unrelenting rhetoric. He had consistently and even in his answer demonized trans folk. There’s NOTHING histrionic about what’s happening to us. What is histrionic is the absurd insistence that Christians are being persecuted.

You didn’t get me and I’m not running in circles. so kindly go back under your bridge.
