Well shit everyone in the NFL thread thinks I killed the packers QB bc I said I thought he was meh and right after he got drilled and is in the tent. I don’t have that kind of power damnit.

Should G5 teams have their own playoff instead of getting embarrassed, yes of course.

NCAA better make some kind of a big financial offer to them for it to happen.

High dollar lawyers are just lining up for the Antitrust lawsuit that a G5 team or conference will file if they don't.

NCAA not doing well in court these days and probably wouldn't in this kind of case either.

I dunno if antitrust would be much of an issue so long as the P4 don't split entirely from the G5. The only split would happen in the playoffs. It's kinda like the UIL breaking up divisions within 5A, 4A, 3A, etc., for the playoffs. Hell, if I were a fan of a team like JMU, I would appreciate having a playoff opportunity with much less risk of getting embarrassed.

I think Tech is better than some of you are thinking.

I think Tech is a legit top 10 team.  But they are also untested and they won a dogshit conference.  Those things can be true at the same time.

How will they react when they get tested?  We'll find out in a couple of weeks when the playoff games stop sucking.

I'm not sure the P4 should completely break off from the G5, but they should have their own separate playoffs. Sure, scheduling some G5 teams for OOC for P4 teams is okay, but absolutely no FCS games in OOC. On the other hand, I think it'd be okay for G5 teams to schedule FCS for OOC.

It seems like that kind of compromise should be palatable to both purists who value tradition and those who see the reality of this huge talent gap.

I think we should do a Top XX playoff.  They can organize bowls or a separate playoffs outside of that.  Reduce the revenue share for teams that play in the playoff and keep conference revenue sharing how it is.  I appreciate these programs need for financial support and think reinvesting in the broader sport is good for everyone, but there's no reason for them to playing an uncompetitive exhibition.

This.  I think they are good, but I'm not betting on them.  They are equally likely to get exposed against better competition.

Yeah, I think we're on the same page.

Maybe they’re better than… I guess however mediocre to bad they’ve been lately?

But I’ll say it.  Texas would pants Tech.  Go ahead and load up Brian Fontana’s moronic response.  I’m not scared..

Oregon called timeout to ice the kicker, they knew how important those points were.

Lanning does not give a fuck about feelings when he has a chance to blow someone out.  This is going to be ugly.  Duke is not good but would have been more competitive than this JMU team who has played no one.

Oregon >= 60, JMU <=10

Oregon gonna fuck around and let JMU go over 10?

Tech played one team this year that has a fairly legit QB.  Tech got 319 passing yards dropped on them and lost that game.

on the flip side who did Oregon beat?

they beat Montana State, OkState, Northwestern, Oregon State, Penn State (had to go to OT) and all those teams are total dog shit.....lost to Indiana then beat Rutgers, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota which are all hot dog shit......their only decent win is USC that is 9-3 (with only one good win over Michigan).......then Oregon beat UW that is 9-4 with probably their best win being over Boise in the bowl game

it is not like Oregon played a bunch of great teams or Big 10 powers and the couple of good wins they had were against teams that also had a lot of wins over shit teams and were ranked "because Big 10"

Oregon is playing some of their best football at the end of the season, their defense looks suspect even in this game, and they also barely beat Iowa that likes to won games 2-0 and rely on defense

Tech might be one of the better defenses they have faced all year

One final amendment to the split playoffs would be to tell Notre Dame they can't participate in the P4 playoff unless they fully join a P4 conference.

I will be annoyed if those coaches in Lubbock have their kids ready to face an equal or higher talent team

I'm hoping they get shocked by the playing field and a team that played dog shit all year gets punished from inadequate preparation for the unknown

I think most of us agree there is some parity with the top 50-65 FBS teams. Maybe it’s just 50 but regardless you take those major programs that belong to P4 and add a few of the other schools like your Boise States and whatever and that is the FBS cut off. The rest can be like feeder schools (like minor league baseball teams are for the majors) for the P4 and those teams develop the talent and get them ready and are compensated and can for whatever league and have their own playoffs and whatever, I’m talking out of my ass and I don’t care but there has to be a better system than this and some real benefit to having coaches and players move up to the next level without poaching and consistently robbing the lesser teams of anything they find that is good, if it’s set up like that I. A professional way it could save those 65 or so other teams with struggling programs. You attach one or two schools to a major program and they develop and cultivate the talent and then matriculate up. And if no one wants their asses they can portal but this is my thought. I’m not articulating it well but I think it would be good for the sport as a whole. Then you have true competition at the highest level for the FBS and a steady stream of talent. It’s like all the surly kids tha cannot get into UT academically so they go to a flagship and try to make good grades to eventually get in to UT. But I haven’t fleshed this out enough. Was hoping for some ideas from y’all though I have no fucking clue why, 😂

So aggy is officially the lowest scoring team in the entire playoff so far and likely the entire playoffs through title game

Damn right, there should be a lawsuit filed for the way Notre Dame gets treated by the NCAA.

Hey CoPilot, what is the only team to not score a TD while playing in the CFP?

I suppose the flagship schools could treat their other system schools as a farm team, but I really don't think anyone would go for this. School pride is still a thing, and I'm not sure Icarnate Word would be okay with being Baylor's farm team.
