Русский корабль - иди нахуй

The cost to rebuild Ukraine will be huge. I suggest we tell Russia, after this is over, they have two choices:
1. Economy crippling sanctions/reparations for years that will make WWI Treaty of Versailles look like Netflix subscriptions
2. They relinquish all their nukes.
2. Would be ideal, but neither will happen. They will continue to inflect cruelty. If not in Europe then in Asia

A Russian oligarch has warned the United States against designating his Wagner Group as a "terrorist" organization. Asked about the US government not following through with reported plans to designate the Wagner group as a foreign terrorist organization, Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of the group, said in a statement on the company's social media page:

"When you are put on the list of terrorist organizations, then, as they say, you do what is necessary to achieve your goals. They've already put one organization on the list of terrorist organizations once, and they got a response that made them tremble."

Quote

His response came via the Telegram channel of his holding company, Concord.

He added: "As the saying goes, let sleeping dogs lie. Do not wake Wagner PMC, Americans, while it's still sleeping."

In his Telegram post, Progizhin said: "We have never overstepped the bounds of what is allowed, we have never oppressed civilians, we have always saved the oppressed from violence, we have never fallen into any category of terrorist organization, we have never crossed and are not going to cross the laws of morality."

CNN reporting, over the past four years, has uncovered extensive human rights abuses by Wagner in Syria, Libya and the Central African Republic. Human rights groups also allege its contractors have carried out atrocities in Mali.

“He added: "As the saying goes, let sleeping dogs lie. Do not wake Wagner PMC, Americans, while it's still sleeping."

So Wagner PMC is still sleeping?  That explains why they are getting their asses kicked in Ukraine.  And having to take in convicts.

Like in Khasham? Or is he talking about something different

What is he referring to here?

Maybe he’s talking about Al Qaeda?  That’s the only one on the list that really hit us hard after they were designated.

We designated them a terrorist organization in ‘99, they hit us in September of 2001.

Nothing says “we’re not a terrorist organization” quite like saying “we will commit another 9/11 if you designate us as terrorists”

A few dozen American Green Berets, Marines, and Air Force Combat Controllers (and the aircraft they called in) literally killed well over 100+ Russian Wagner mercenaries in Syria (perhaps 200-300).

He didn’t lift a finger after that, either because he was scared or embarrassed, or more likely didn’t care.

I imagine the shell making process is a whole lot more streamlined and automated these days but here’s a fascinating look at what it took to make 3” antiaircraft shells back in 1939 leading up to US involvement in WW2.

M1A1?  Come on, Guys.  Let's give them the A2 SEP V (whatever we're up to.)  We're trying to kill Communists here.

Poland has already been sold 200+ M1A2. They are on a crazy shopping spree right now, but are trying to get a lot of bang for their buck. They have a massive order of tanks with South Korea pending too.

I'd imagine that this is just shipping over 1/100th of the extra tanks that we've been paying Bumfucksville AR/GA/AL to build for the last few decades. We'll be shipping out the new hotness once it's old and busted in 20 years too

No, this is just Poland looking to diversify its potential orders and lowering their per unit cost. Poland wants to develop its industrial base so that it can build modern battle tanks locally. That's why the vast majority of its tank orders are through South Korea, since the Koreans are willing to license their technology and help train polish industry.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-goal-in-ukraine-drive-russians-back-to-pre-invasion-lines-blinken-says-11670351786

Blinken has recently stated a couple of things-

1. The US won’t be fooled by a fake Russian appeal for “peace” as a delaying tactic

2. The US is not committing beyond restoring the pre-February borders.

Really, we need a formal national debate to commit to more than that (and I wish Congress would do its job and have that deliberation). No CR. (Is that how you do it?)

It also sounds like a call for Europe to step up in support.

Well that's some bullshit.  Our commitment must be to the full restoration of Ukraine's borders as originally recognized when the USSR disintegrated.  Anything otherwise is just setting Russia up to invade Ukraine again.  Fuck Russia, fuck Putler, and fuck stopping short of full Ukranian victory.
