If the reserves are being pulled up, then they expect the breakthrough to occur. Sending thoughts and prayers their way. This is the really tricky part now that they've reached the lines.

@MillerEP Would you mind expanding on the difficulties they are expected to face.

In for 100. My kid works for a company that does EOD and other gear into Ukraine for DOS. Little shit knows all about ITAR and has a few shippers. Let me know if we need any information.

Russians are posting pictures of Ukrainian losses but what's important is where they are:

Small take on what's going on in the Robotyne Axis. Our forces managed to break through russian defensive lines at a cost. The human price is high, but I won't speculate on this, as it's hard to understand from the available footage. The scale of the Ukrainian attack is obviously high, and it's too early to say if it's successful. Our troops are probably trying to stabilize newly captured positions. I won't dive into the details of the new contact line, but russians posted videos of our casualties at the following locations: https://goo.gl/maps/JzmovtgK6UgR5F1W7 https://goo.gl/maps/GKZsc5BjttD6YLxJ6 Which means Ukraine made a breakthrough. I estimate equipment losses of a battalion size (35 BMPs, 5-10 tanks), and I will leave more precise estimates to OSINT accounts such as

. Also, you will soon see map updates from

and

Aren’t they missing an animal? Could have sworn there was a goat or beaver or some type of varmint that killed a Russian either right before or after the shark.

Wasn't there a kangaroo at one point?

This meme and the ye old pictures of the Kerch bridge are make me laugh every time there's an update.

Regarding the video of the vehicle approaching the dragons teeth, Defmon was speculating it might be an unmanned vehicle being sent in to probe the Russian defenses.

Needs a ramp there so M2s and other APCs can jump the trench like Evil Knievel.

I started typing out an entire thing and then googled some doctrinal pictures to add and saw that this basically was a much better explanation than what I could do:

Then give the Ukes the means to kill the launch source of those missiles.

Yep.

And if the Russians are foolish enough to put any ships into a situation where they are stopping ships going to/from Ukraine to search them or seize them, that means those Russian ships will be stopped in the water while they board/search/seize, and their locations easily transmitted, which opens them up to being sunk.  I'm guessing the Russians are just making empty threats.

It would be a pretty delicious bite of FAFO if they did though.

So is there any chance of a slowly then all at once kind of thing, or will it be hard going from start to finish?

Michael Kofman and Rob Lee were just in Ukraine, including around Bakhmut. On Kofman's last two podcasts he's said he expects it to be a grinding offensive the whole way due to the extensive layered Russian defenses.
