Kudos to them for standing up, but holy shit.  Wow, he was almost trying to kill his buddies.  Nice muzzle discipline.

Someone in the comments said the silver time he removed was a blank adapter. Have never used on an AK so don't know. But at the end that is live Ammo.

I think this is a good move that shows a commitment to addressing corruption, not that Reznikov was corrupt by any means, but he oversaw a ministry that has had some recent scandals that in and of themselves were not significant but kinda trickled into something worth addressing. He would've been gone sooner if he wasn't so effective, and he's reportedly gifted at connecting and building relationships. The rumor is that Reznikov will become Ambassador to Great Britain.

If you’re winning, i don’t see how it can be a good thing to have unplanned changes in leadership. Hopefully the new guy doesn’t rock the boat too much.

My point was that this is a smart move on the whole by Zelensky for a country that eventually wants to join the EU ajd NATO. Of course having no issues throughout the defense ministry would be preferred.

Exclusive footage of the special operation of the GUR called Synytsia. A Russian pilot surrendered to Ukraine along with the Mi-8 combat helicopter

The Russian pilot calls on other Russian pilots to follow his example.

"You are guaranteed that you will live, receive a reward and, if you want, even continue to fly, but on the side of truth.

There was an explosion in a cafe where Russian officers were eating in Zaporizhzhia region

Everything happened in the temporarily occupied village of Konskiye Rozdory. The occupiers used the building of a kindergarten for their needs: the main hall was turned into a cafe, and in the utility rooms stored ammunition.

"It detonated for more than an hour and a half. The flames spread to two KamAZ of the Rashists and the equipment of the collaborators", said mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov.

More context for the "lucky" Russians who were shelled, clustered, and droned. They were evacuating trenches after clusters were used. You can see their dead and dying comrades from the drone's perspective.

The new guy being a Crimean Tartar certainly sends a message about Ukraine's intentions toward the recapture of that peninsula.  Hopefully his effectiveness matches the positive optics.

Reminds me of when I heard somebody's great-great-grandad left a Civil War diary, so the dude looked up the dates of the Battle of Gettysburg, and it said something like "Big fight. Lots of rain. Still no shoes."

Great great grandfather Ubet was in the Michigan infantry around the battle of Shiloh. Mostly he was in the hospital at Pittsburgh Landing, which is unsurprising, as more troops died from disease and illness than from actual battle. I went to the national archives in DC and looked up his actual military records. They showed that he was in the hospital…and then finally he deserted. He went back to Michigan, and as there were no computer databases, he received a bonus for signing up for the Michigan Calvary. This was all well and good until it came time to be shipped out to Tennessee, so he deserved again.

After his death, his wife made a claim for a union pension. It was denied, so she got a Utah senator, a guy named Smoot, to enter a bill granting him his pension.  They looked it up and denied it.  That pesky double-deserter thing.

It appears that he never told his spouse anything about the war than he fought for Michigan. Oops.

its greatest extent from 28 September 1934 to 23 February 1935, it had 58 members. After some notable successes and some early failures in the 1920s, the League ultimately proved incapable of preventing aggression by the Axis powers in the 1930s. The credibility of the organization was weakened by the fact that the United States never joined, and Japan, Germany and Italy quit in 1933-1934. The Soviet Union only joined in 1934 and was expelled in 1939 after invading Finland.[5][6][7][8] The onset of the Second World War in 1939showed that the League had failed its primary purpose; it was largely inactive until its abolition. The League lasted for 26 years; the United Nations (UN) replaced it in 1946 and inherited several agencies and organisations founded by the League.

At least the LON had the ability and sense to kick russia out after it attacked a neighbor.

I think the UN should lose its peacekeeping mandates. Let regional entities (African Union, Organization of American States) take the lead. That is what happened in both Somalia and Mozambique and they have been pretty effective with US/NATO logistical support. And then you have Mali, DRC and Sudan, where the UN is lead. The UN deploys primarily troops who are little bark and no bite. Cases in point. Rwanda and Bosnia.

The UN can stay focused on Climate, Health, Migration, Refugees, etc. But not military operations or tribunals. They are too easy to bribe.

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/04/us/politics/putin-kim-meeting-russia-north-korea-weapons.html?smid=nytcore-android-share

Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea, plans to travel to Russia this month to meet with President Vladimir V. Putin to discuss the possibility of supplying Russia with more weaponry for its war in Ukraine and other military cooperation, according to American and allied officials.

In a rare foray from his country, Mr. Kim would travel from Pyongyang, North Korea’s capital, probably by armored train, to Vladivostok, on the Pacific Coast of Russia, where he would meet with Mr. Putin, the officials said. Mr. Kim could possibly go to Moscow, though that is not certain.

Mr. Putin wants Mr. Kim to agree to send Russia artillery shells and antitank missiles, and Mr. Kim would like Russia to provide North Korea with advanced technology for satellites and nuclear-powered submarines, the officials said. Mr. Kim is also seeking food aid for his impoverished nation.

Both leaders would be on the campus of Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok to attend the Eastern Economic Forum, which is scheduled to run Sept. 10 to 13, according to the officials. Mr. Kim also plans to visit Pier 33, where naval ships from Russia’s Pacific fleet dock, they said. North Korea celebrates the anniversary of its founding on Sept. 9.

you know, thinking about it,  if that crazy fuck actually continues on to Moscow for a meeting, it actually would be a great time for Ukraine to do a full-on mass drone attack of Moscow when hes there.

No, not to hit Kim or Putin, they would be safe.  But send in like 3-5 times the number of drones they have sent in the past and only previously gotten 2-3 hits in Moscow - I assume some of Russians air defense did take out probably 70% of the drones.  But if like 8-15 drones could hit Moscow while Kim was there, it would embarass the shit out of Pooty Poot and Russia for that matter, showing they cant even protect their capital.

Fuck this war criminal and her take on history. 1- The Crimean War was a war of aggression. Just like this one. Look how that turned out. 2- You folded in WW1 thanks to internal shit. The UK and US deployed troops to guard some secure locations. Food aid continued. 3- You never would have killed that many Germans without Lend Lease, which is kind of what we are doing for Ukraine today. 4- BRICS have no power. Wow, imagine a Bolivian division moving north to threaten the Ukraine. How would they get there? And ever seen their army? All special units are US trained and pretty pro-US. Oh, and they are not buying your weapons anymore. 5- Can Ukraine hit your tanning salon? Like when you are in it?

Great allies you have today Russia!
