Dayum! Fuck Putin and Russia!

Hopefully there are a few of them.  They line them up rows because the unguided rockets cover an "area", and in mass can be effective, but not good at hitting specific targets.  More of a saturation weapon.

Disney Pauses All Business in Russia
The Hollywood giant's linear TV channels, consumer products, and even cruise ships and National Geographic will all be put on hold in the country.

BY ALEX WEPRIN

MARCH 10, 2022 11:32AM

The Walt Disney Co. is pausing all of its business in Russia in light of the country’s invasion of Ukraine, a company spokesperson says.

Disney had previously paused all theatrical releases in Russia, but the new move takes things a step further. The company says that it will be pausing “content and product licensing, Disney Cruise Line activities, National Geographic magazine and tours, local content productions and linear channels.”

“Some of those business activities we can and will pause immediately. Others—such as linear channels and some content and product licensing—will take time given contractual complexities,” a company spokesperson added.

Disney has a number of linear channels in Russia, and St. Petersburg has long been a port of call for its cruise ships. Likewise, Disney-branded consumer products and National Geographic magazine have long been available around the world, including in Russia.

The Disney spokesperson added that the company’s Russia-based employees will remain employed.

Disney joins a long list of media and entertainment companies choosing to pause or exit the country since its invasion, and since Russia’s legislature the Duma passed a law banning “false news,” which could ensnare some companies with journalists in the country.

This week Amazon, WarnerMedia and Discovery all paused their Russia businesses, as did Netflix. The war also upended production in eastern Europe, with Russia, Ukraine and neighboring countries becoming popular locations for some international film and TV production.

The move by the company comes as it continues to face scrutiny at home for its response to Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Disney initially chose to stay silent on the bill, with CEO Bob Chapek saying Wednesday that the company “chose not to take a public position on it because we thought we could be more effective working behind the scenes working with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.”

“We were hopeful that our longstanding relationships with those lawmakers could lead to a better outcome. Ultimately, we were unsuccessful,” he added.

Another burning tank.  Seemingly alone.  Out in the open?  That's weird.......

"I worked there for many years. I can write a thread about the import dependence of the Russian food industry and why nationalization will not help."

Every packaged product on Russian grocery shelves is reliant upon management and import of raw materials from western companies. That's what this Russian guy, who says he worked for 15 years in the food industry, wrote. If he's right, things are going to get very ugly in Russia very quickly.

"Why the Russian food industry will not survive the sanctions."

So I guess we will all allow them to take it as well…we need to sack up and kill Putin. Maybe Macron can talk to him some more about it? Maybe we can make Russia’s economy even worse off and that will do it? Maybe if he’s charged with war crimes? But god forbid let’s not let migs fly from NATO bases…let’s keep doing more of the same stuff and maybe Putin won’t go for Georgia and one of his own men will kill him…stop fucking around and assassinate him. Otherwise we will wind up on WW3 any way but will have allowed thousands upon thousands to die first and have left Ukraine in ruins and possibly other countries on Putin’s wishlist before we do the right thing and put a bullet in his skull and throw him in a wood chipper.

Well my mom was a US Army civilian military strategy expert responsible for planning/gaming scenarios with Soviet/Russian attacks in Eastern Europe just like this (ground, air, missile engagements and troop strengths, resupply, counter tactics, etc.) and then later on North Korea.  Seriously, she was but that's all I got.  Oh and no pics.

Interesting, if true! What would the FSB know?

The discussion in the Twitter replies is what it would mean if true.... choices:
1. FSB moving out to take new digs in what they think will be newly captured territory in what is now Ukraine (Odessa/Kyiv/etc.?).
2. FSB families hate living next to the army families there in Crimea now.
3. FSB thinks Crimea will be retaken by Ukraine, so they're selling now before getting ejected with nothing when Ukraine takes back over.
4. Miscellaneous -- radiation fears/etc.
