Probably a stupid question, but, again, we've never been to Vegas.

It's not going to be an issue to check our luggage in early is it?  We're staying at the Venetian.  Flight gets in at like 8AM.  Obviously, we don't want to haul this crap around Vegas for several hours.  The plan is to check the luggage, explore the area, then check in when able.

Not an issue at all. They will be able to check your luggage if the room isn’t ready.

One of the guilty pleasures of going to Vegas is landing around 7 am, getting to hotel and checking bags with the bell desk, then heading over to Mon Ami Gabi for breakfast on their patio.

As others have said, leaving bags is not an issue at all

Bell hops at every resort are happy to do this, even if you’re not staying there. I’ve coasted without a hotel room for 36 hours on several trips and used this to pull it off.

This. You can check your shit anywhere. Zero fucks

Was a decade ago, but the Venetian lost my luggage for over a month (3 bags). Checked it bc I had a late flight and it was lost a few hours later. They were absolute dicks about it while it was lost as well.

I still check my bags if I’m early or leaving late, but I also don’t stay at the Venetian anymore.

As all have said it’s not an issue. When you get out of your cab or Uber the bellman will take your bags. Go see if you can check in since it will be about 9. Depending on their load that day you might get your room early and head on up. If not, check them with the bellman and go get breakfast.

I love Mon Ami Gabi too. I’d get the steak frites with a plate of smoked salmon eggs Benedict to the side.

This would have been a great (and expensive) weekend to be there. NHL All Star Game and NFL Pro Bowl.

Not so great for Alvin Kamara:

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was arrested on a battery charge on Sunday in Las Vegas after being accused of injuring someone at a nightclub on the eve of the Pro Bowl, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Police said they were dispatched around 5:50 p.m. local time Saturday to a hospital where a person had reported a battery at a nightclub. The police said detectives determined the victim was battered by Kamara.

After playing and making four catches for 23 yards for the NFC in Sunday's Pro Bowl, Kamara was taken into custody without incident, according to police, and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm.

Kamara remained in jail Sunday night. His bail is set at $5,000, and a court hearing is scheduled for Monday afternoon, a jail official said.

Neither Kamara's representatives nor the Saints immediately responded to a request for comment.

Kamara, 26, had 1,337 yards from scrimmage and nine TDs this season en route to being selected for his fifth Pro Bowl in five seasons as a pro. He was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2017.

I’m likely to have 3 hours to kill tomorrow and will already be outside McCarin. Who has the best book these days? Looking for good access, variety of wagers and odds - Not looking to linger on a Tuesday afternoon, just get my bets in and hit the tables.

Download the Caesars Sports app. Then load cash when you get there. You can make your sports bets anytime, anywhere and not have to deal with windows.

Once had a buddy check 3/4 of a case of Natty Light at the Hard Rock for a couple hours while we played blackjack. We were drunken stumbling from casino to casino and he was tired of dragging it around. Won some money, grabbed the case, tipped the bellhop 5 bucks and off we went. Classy.

Actually it wasn't Natty Light, it was Keystone Light. Only beer the guy would drink - strange choice in beverages but we still drank them all while walking down the Strip.

For folks who love going to Vegas, don’t gamble very much but spend decent money on everything else . . . Take a look at getting or switching over to MGM’s reward program. Formerly known as M-Life its rebranded now as MGM Rewards and they have redesigned the program to recognize/reward non-gaming spending throughout their properties, restaurants, entertainment . . .

I need to do a dinner for clients next Wednesday night for about 25-30 people.  The convention is at the Bellagio so was thinking Prime but they want a minimum of 10k plus tip which seems excessive.  Or, am I off there?  Was trying to stay close to the Bellagio in order to not have to shuttle everybody.  Anybody have other ideas that are close by?

Just have your uber or taxi driver have you stop at whatever dispensary you want to go to before going to hotel.

Last summer, our car driver flat out asked us if we wanted to go to a dispensary before we went to the hotel.

Oh hey Mr Tourist from Arizona, you won $229,000 jackpot and left town before realizing you won. You might want to come back to collect. Wild story.

On our first trip to Vegas, wife was not of age to gamble but that didn’t stop her/us from playing.  She hits something on a slot at the Golden Nugget but panics and walks away.  We’ll never know what it was.  This was back in early 80s.
