Remember when our top Generals planned to commit terrorist attacks against US citizens? (To start a war with Cuba)

Quotes from unclassified/top secret "Operation Northwoods"

"harassing reconnaissance...flaunting our freedom of action, hoping to stir the Cuban military to action."  (We did this exact thing earlier today.)

"We could blow up a U.S. ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba . . . casualty lists in U.S. newspapers cause a helpful wave of indignation."

"We could develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington...Exploding a few plastic bombs in carefully chosen spots, the arrest of Cuban agents and the release of prepared documents substantiating Cuban involvement also would be helpful..."

"Soviet Bloc incendiaries could be found. ...Use of MiG type aircraft by U.S. pilots could provide additional provocation...make it appear that Communist Cuban MiGs have destroyed a USAF aircraft over international waters in an unprovoked attack."

Interesting sidenote: Northwood country club is located directly adjacent to the Bohemian Grove.   Just across the "Russian River".

Looks like Bibi & Co are getting tired of waiting for Trump to start that Iran war.

For those that don't know, the man pictured to Kennedy's left-PM of Israel Davin Ben-Gurion-who many believe ordered Kennedy's assassination.  In the days leading up to JFK's murder, Kennedy demanded inspections of Israel's nuclear facility in Dimona, demanded an official inquiry into the uranium Israel stole from the US, and signed executive order 11110 which threatened the Federal Reserve by replacing Fed notes with silver certificates.

After JFK was assassinated, executive order 11110 was revoked, no new inspections of Israel's nuclear facility were performed, and the stolen uranium was forgotten about.

Israel has been bombing the fuck out of Iranian troops the last couple of years and the bombings seem (to me) to be escalating in frequency.  A larger scale Israel - Iran conflagration will result in thousands of dead Iranian troops, all their equipment destroyed and zero Israeli casualties. This is reality.  Iran needs to sidestep frontal confrontation and go after Israeli high value targets in Europe and Asia.

JERUSALEM — Israeli warplanes struck several military sites in Syria overnight and killed several fighters and civilians, Syrian state media reported on Monday, in what appeared to be a stepping up of Israel’s long-running, partly covert campaign to thwart Iranian military entrenchment in Syria and stop weapon transfers to Lebanon.

The warplanes fired missiles from Lebanese airspace, according to SANA, the official Syrian news agency, which reported that a baby was among four civilians who were killed. The airstrikes hit a variety of targets, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British-based monitoring group identified with the Syrian opposition.

The targets included the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps of Iran in the south of the Syrian capital, Damascus; a scientific research center in the countryside around the city; and positions held by Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed Lebanese group, in the mountains near the border with Lebanon, the Observatory said.

The Hezbollah sites that were targeted included ammunition warehouses, resulting in explosions and huge fires, the Observatory reported.

Tick tock motherfuckers.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/10/politics/iran-attempted-seize-british-tanker/index.html

(CNN)Five armed Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps boats unsuccessfully tried to seize a British oil tanker in the Persian Gulf Wednesday, according to two US officials with direct knowledge of the incident.

The British Heritage tanker was sailing out of the Persian Gulf and was crossing into the Strait of Hormuz area when it was approached by the Iranian boats. The Iranians ordered the tanker to change course and stop in nearby Iranian territorial waters, according to the officials. A US aircraft was overhead and recorded video of the incident.
The UK's Royal Navy frigate HMS Montrose had been escorting the tanker from the rear. It trained its deck guns on the Iranians and gave them a verbal warning to back away, which they did. Montrose is equipped on the deck with 30 mm guns specifically designed to drive off small boats.
UK officials had previously confirmed that the Montrose was in the region performing a "maritime security role."
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned earlier Wednesday that the UK "will see the consequences" after Gibraltar officials and UK Royal Marines seized an Iranian oil tankerbound for Syria last week, according to Rouhani's press office.
Rouhani, speaking in a cabinet session, said, "I tell the British that they are the initiator of insecurity and you will understand its consequences later."

So....exactly what DID he accomplish with his brinksmanship, then?

I have definite thoughts on how we've actually gone backwards and lost all our leverage with respect to the DPRK.  And we've accomplished....ummm....what exactly with respect to Iran?

"He didn't create an extra-massive failure" is not a particularly glowing accomplishment.

What are y'all even talking about? NK is basically an ally now and can resume whatever testing they want because we are best buds.  Iran is just a bunch of angry browns who will buy up more military from Russia (another ally) while also solidifying the US as an enemy to their democracy striving populace. Everyone is happy, right?

Ben Rhodes just about lost his mind the other day when talking about how the dotard pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal, put himself in a worse negotiating position, and now is asking for something about half as effective as the original deal, yet is somehow pretending it's a victory.

Just wait till you read the analysis on where we put ourselves with respect to North Korea.....long story short: they are a nuclear power and will remain one, with zero prospects for changing that.  AND, the regime is much more secure than it was before Trump - now, we're just going to have to wait at least 2 generations, probably 3, before there's even a chance of the DPRK joining the real world.

Priority now is to keep South Korea strong, safe, and democratic while containing North Korea.

Trump fucked up North Korea so bad because we got less than nothing and gave away all our leverage.

This.  And he doesn't even grasp that we gave away all our leverage.  Because Trump thinks that KJU wants what Trump would want.  That's not true.  KJU wanted something else - recognition, acknowledgement that he belongs at the big kids table, and validation that his possession of nukes is what got him a seat there.  He got all of that.  There's nothing else he wants or needs.  We gave the guy on the other side of the table all that he really wanted...so now what?  Stupid.

Iran's nuke program has no value either way, but imo i slightly favor Iran owning some.. If they go full nuke or have none, doesn't mean much to the US.  Nukes keep the peace, so why not allow Iran to have them?

The reality is that our foreign policy circus has created a reality where if you don't have nukes and you threaten our geopolitical hegemony, we will drag you out of a hole in the ground and hang you.  And then we get really mad at the countries that pursue nukes to protect their sovereignty.

Well, we've made it crystal clear in both directions:

Don't have nukes?  We'll execute your ass (Libya, Iraq).

Be a rogue nation that we try to stop from getting nukes, but you eventually get them?  We'll give you all the respect and a seat at the big boys table like you've always wanted.  (DPRK).

Based on the existing evidence, any country that might ever get crossways with our ambition would be nuts NOT to try to get nukes, and get them pronto.

A bad argument could be made that the world would be a safer place if we just handed every country a few nukes.

It's working under the same flawed logic as  "the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.  We clearly need more guns."

We never had leverage, that crazy family has starved its people for the sake of its military for almost 70 years and no administration from either party has made a dent in that.

Calling Trump Claim 'Delusional,' Iran Says US May Have Shot Down Its Own Drone by Mistake

Iran on Friday said President Donald Trump's claim that the American Navy shot down an Iranian drone in the Strait of Hormuz is "delusional" and suggested the U.S. may have accidentally destroyed its own aircraft.

"We have not lost any drone in the Strait of Hormuz nor anywhere else," Abbas Araghchi, Iran's deputy foreign minister, tweeted Friday. "I am worried that USS Boxer has shot down their own [unmanned aircraft system] by mistake!"

Araghchi's tweet comes just hours after Trump said in remarks at the White House that the U.S. Navy "immediately destroyed" an unmanned drone that flew within 1,000 yards of an American warship. CNN reported that the drone was downed with "electronic jamming."

"This is the latest of many provocative and hostile actions by Iran against vessels operating in international waters," Trump said, without presenting any evidence to support the accusation. "The United States reserves the right to defend our personnel, facilities, and interests, and calls upon all nations to condemn Iran's attempts to disrupt freedom of navigation and global commerce."

Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif, who is in New York on a visit to the United Nations headquarters, told reporters, "We have no information about losing a drone."

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, a spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces, said the U.S. president's claim that the American Navy downed an Iranian drone is completely false.

"Unlike Trump's delusional and groundless claim," said Shekarchi, "all drones belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, including the one mentioned by the U.S. president, have returned to their bases safe and sound after carrying out their scheduled surveillance and control operations."

Ehhhh, is this where we actually believe an Iran over a President of the United States?

I'm not sure, but the fact that there's doubt in my my mind - and in many others' minds too, I think it's safe to assume - is telling.
