  1. Past hour
  2. Send that guy to Top Gun.
  3. I think demanding a middle ground and winning over voters in the middle are two different things. It’s a fine line but that distinction is there. You don’t need to have policies in the middle to win over voters in the middle in this environment.
  4. This will never happen so long as the media (Legacy Media, Big Tech, and "Alternative" Media) are all owned by the 1%. There will always be a narrative where republicans are held blameless for their economic problems. Always.
  5. False start on chemo for me today. MRI results from my scan last week for my liver show that it is highly unlikely areas that are of potential concern are cancerous, but my doctor wants a PET scan to get more info because it would require slightly different treatment (adding a drug/another round)- current treatment plan would still move forward assuming good scan results. Tumor markers are nonexistent and there are no other data points to be concerned about. So all good news, just a little more waiting around to get started.
  6. Meet with DOJ a few days ago. Today files an appeal to the SC on her conviction. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM................................ https://www.axios.com/2025/07/28/ghislaine-maxwell-supreme-court-appeal-epstein-files Ghislaine Maxwell pressed ahead with an appeal to the Supreme Court on Monday, seeking to overturn her conviction on the grounds that she was unlawfully prosecuted for sex trafficking minors with Jeffrey Epstein. Maxwell's appeal revolves around a highly controversial 2007 plea agreement Epstein negotiated with the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Florida. "The United States," the plea agreement stated, "agrees that it will not institute any criminal charges against any potential co-conspirators of Epstein, including but not limited to" four other suspects. Maxwell was not listed as one of those suspects — but her lawyers argue she didn't need to be. Between the lines: Maxwell's attorneys, the husband-wife team of Mona and David Oscar Markus contends that a plain reading of the deal protects unnamed co-conspirators as well, since it explicitly says it's "not limited to" those listed. Markus also argues that language in the deal — promising immunity from "the United States" — means Maxwell couldn't be prosecuted for Epstein-related crimes anywhere in the country. "The government's argument, across the board, is essentially an appeal to what it wishes the agreement had said, rather than what it actually says," Mona Markus wrote in the petition. The other side: The Justice Department says former U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta, who negotiated the deal, didn't have authority to bind other federal districts — including the Southern District of New York, where Maxwell was ultimately tried and convicted. The intrigue: Federal appeals courts have split over the key question of whether a plea deal struck by one U.S. Attorney's Office applies to the entire Justice Department. The Justice Department acknowledged that divide in its own brief, but has urged the Supreme Court to reject Maxwell's appeal. "The government was not even aware of [Maxwell's] role in Epstein's scheme at that time," DOJ argued, calling her "at most, an incidental third-party beneficiary of the agreement."
  7. Where have I seen that before?
  8. Wout was the first person I've seen legitimately drop Today Foccaccia since Jonas 2 years ago. Immense.
  9. The cast of this show knew that octopodes was always the Latin (nominative) plural of octopus.
  10. 1. Attack and tax the rick. Vilify the rich. Instead of minorities and immigrants, make them the reason for all of the bad things that happen to working class people. 2. Reinstate the Fairness Doctrine to exert control over media messaging so it can't be batshit. 3. Address the biggest threat to national security there is - the fucking deficit. Insist on paying it down by any means necessary, including reducing military spending. Make people fear the deficit. 4. Campaign finance reform. Campaign finance reform. Campaign finance reform. As long as money rules politics then the real needs of the country and its people will not be met. 5. Lincoln Project style videos showing every promise Trump did not keep.
  11. Bobby dropping hints about NIL:
  12. As much of a turd as Graham is, I can't imagine that one of the literal authors of Project 2025 is going to be an improvement.
  13. Still waiting to hear the story behind your arc.
  14. So you’d prefer to include Mateer as he played against all those defenses that he’ll face this year?
  15. I don't mind crazy Danica. She's okay by me. Karun on the other hand, ugh, what an absolute beating. And I totally agree on Nico-- not only is he willing and able to discuss the more pointed topics, but he also adds a lot to the driving/technical discussions. I really do like Jenson but I feel like he's supposed to be covering a similar role and he just doesn't bring as much to it.
  16. There was no way the NCAA was ever going to apply the Death Penalty to a large school such as OU or even ATM. Hell, OU basically stared down the NCAA with the Big Red Automotive scandal and once schools started hiring that law firm out of either KC or Chicago the NCAA was basically toothless if you wanted to fight them. SMU made it easy for them being complete dumbarses by continuing to pay players and alums such as the fucking Governor not backing down. I would suggest to the OP the book "A Payroll to Meet: A Story of Greed, Corruption, and Football at SMU" which was the source material for the 30 for 30 special. If I recall correctly, Houston was penalized, ATM, SMU, TCU, and Baylor had some issues with FIxx so there was plenty of shit going on in the conference.
  17. Sometimes a reaction gif is just a gif.
  18. I might have more respect for a diehard Trumper than anyone labeling themselves a "centrist" in this political climate. MAGA are idiots and some are downright evil, but at least it's an ethos. Demanding a middle ground during an authoritarian takeover is beyond ridiculous.
  19. "You wanna tilly, Buddy?!" "Let's have a donnybrook!"
  20. When did a Democratic candidate make a special interest social issue the center of their agenda? We passed the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act in 1964 and 1965, respectively. Were we a less racist country then? Or did liberals become too scared of speaking affirmatively in support of civil rights? Would we be better off right now if Manchin and Sinema had voted for the new Civil Rights Act in 2022, or was their concern about appearing too focused on social issues to support it correct? In 2016, North Carolina passed an anti-trans bathroom bill. At the time it was so controversial that the NCAA pulled the NCAA Tournament out of the state, the NBA moved the all star game, and numerous major companies withdrew business from the state. What changed between then and now? Did the Democrats become vocally more pro-trans rights? Did any Democrats center trans issues in their campaigns? Or did many of them begin acknowledging that Republican messages on trans rights were correct, in an attempt to defuse it as an effective political issue? There is no running from social issues to focus on material issues. Democrats have to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time.
  21. Lol
  22. Flo's approach on the mens side is to grab all these "older" Europeans in the 20 to 24 range. Saino ran a 48.61 in the 400MH last week at the U23 EU championships.
  23. Hmm, did you perhaps just get your latest issue of the AARP mag? I can ask, since I'm an old. Glad to see she looks better in the pictures, than on the show...had assumed they made her look as rough as possible.
