Conclave 2025: All of the Smoke, None of the Brisket
Royalfan5 replied to GopherRock's topic in Daily Texan
Could a guy send the Conclave a few 30 racks of High Life, and a couple of cases of Slim Jims to help them enhance the atmosphere? -
Was the kalkite for a lens? I thought it was an energy source (maybe to get the Death Star to light speed?), and the khyber crystals are to generate the laser, but I'm only a 7/10 on sw nerd scale.

Make sure to tell all of your boomer parents and relatives that the "Conclave" movie on Amazon Prime is an inside look at the selection process and is the closest they will get to seeing the real deal. -
Covid/Influenza/Black Death. 2024 and beyond
Mrs Whiggins replied to Parliament's topic in Daily Texan
I'm familiar with *Hutterites, and I believe they outnumber the Mennonite congregations in North Dakota by quite a bit, but given the number of Mennonite groups just across the border in Canada (Manitoba, but I think they are clustered further east), it wouldn't have been a huge stretch but I think you're correct in that it's more likely a rando transmission that found an opportunity in an unvaccinated host. *very fascinating history they have. -

Why has no one really gone for the brass ring and just called themselves Pope Jesus? -

Holding out for Pope Pizzaballa I. Would be hilarious to have a Pope Pizzaballa IV in the year 2154. Do us a solid, Catholics. -

I’m rewatching them tonight before the Stars game. I know there are so many little details that I missed simply because my mind was blown the entire time.

The former - sweet. The latter - uh, have fun with that I guess.

I have no desire to ever step foot there but I'm sure this will do well.

I've been seeing multiple reports of this from other sources regarding JPM and Goldman's numbers. This could get ugly... -

mdmost replied to hayden_horn's topic in Movies and TV
I think there's value in aggregate threads in the sense of it brings awareness to current shows and upcoming shows in these streaming platforms. It's a good place to put trailers and teasers. There can be a Disney+ thread to show what's coming the platform and an Andor thread since that show has a decent following here. Aggregate threads don't lend as well to weekly discussion though. If a show has enough interest, it will naturally break off as a separate thread. -

I'm not sure if Snow's or Franklin will be bumped from the Top 10 or not, there are just some incredible barbecue joints that hit on all levels. Not sure if days and hours will be a reason to keep Barbs B Q out of the top 10. Snow's has been there for years with 1-day a week. Cattleack is only open 1 weekend day per month, otherwise just W, TH, F. Brett's Backyard Barbecue is permanently closed. Back in November, Brett said they got screwed on the lease, tried to do something else, and decided to go back to a real job. While Valentina's is closed, Miguel Vidal is working at OG Familia Tex Mex BBQ in Manchaca. I haven't been there, but I wouldn't be surprised if it makes the list. Sunbird was on the 2023 Top 25 New list, albeit at a different location. There used to be a metric that a joint had to be open two years, but they don't follow that any longer. There were a few on the 2021 list that had been open less than a year and I want to say there was one less than 6 months.

Portland.... "Because only corporate stooges will use chemically infused, deadly, man made hot tubs that are a horrible waste of space, the environment and water. Why when there are so many wonderful alternatives in nature."

That's a Schloss thing. He likes to work pitch counts. I don't have a problem with them looking at first strikes. My problem is when they watch strike 2 and 3 that are both just belt high meatballs.
