As to the player Hamilton is talking about it definitely could be Bryce Anderson. I’m from Beaumont coached Bryce for the Beaumont Bulls LL and also go to the same church as him and his family from Cheeks, TX Bryce was always a Texas fan, that’s all he ever talked about. I was shocked when he picked A&M but I do believe his parents had a lot to do with it and Jimbo did a hell of a job. I think his parents felt A&M was more stable, and had a better future and even though they let him make his decision they were a heavy influence which is the case with any recruit. I honestly believe Anderson still loves Texas as you can see from the statement his dad made. If Texas can show it on the field and stays hot no way I think Anderson goes to A&M. Like I said he’s always been a Texas fan, even his grandparents who I’m close with thought it was going to be Texas as most in the area had also and even tho that means nothing the door is very much still open in my opinion specially if Texas shows promise this season.40 points

Can you elucidate all the ways the country was improved after 4 years of Trump? Was it the gutting of government services? The alienation of our democratic allies? The normalization of white nationalism? The rise in violence against minorities? The destabilization of American democracy? The ongoing attempt to unlawfully overturn the Presidential election? The erosion of public belief in science, education, medicine and empiricism? The self-dooming of what could have been the greatest success of any modern President (operation warp speed and the mRNA vaccines) with lies and misinformation rooted in political damage control? The failed wall that could easily be traversed had it ever been built? The deepening discord in this country that manifested in riots across the nation? The 7.8 trillion dollars worth of additional national debt? The only people I can see thinking Trump was a good President are racists/white nationalists who want to see an American apartheid, evangelicals on a crusade against abortion at the expense of all else, wealthy people who measure themselves and the world around them solely by their net worth or rubes completely under his spell woven of lies and bullshit. So please, tell us what was great about Trump and let it reveal who you are — fascist, racist, fanatic, asshole or moron.35 points

I’m driving. In carrying on my tradition of buffoonery related to RV driving, within the first 3 minutes of our fearless leader getting to my house I backed my RV into my car and fucked up my fender. wife was very amused.31 points

I have this very board advocated for empathy wherever one can muster it. It’s important for your own mental health but damn if it ain’t hard. Some of us are separated from loved ones by borders that should be open but aren’t because of your freedom to spread pestilence. ”But don’t act arrogant to me!” Some of us can’t get the medical treatment we need because you’re taking a bed that shouldn’t be full. ”It’s so disgusting to make fun of people who disagree with you.” Some of us are working to the breaking point and beyond to save you when you could have saved yourself with a free shot. “How intolerant to use a tragedy to make a political point.” Some people who are weak and sick are dying because you think you are strong, and you don’t give a shit about anyone else. “It’s so grotesque to mock entirely preventable tragedies wrought upon people who invited them.” People should be kind. People should have empathy. People should forgive the weaknesses of others. And people should do what they can to not kill themselves, others and destroy their own society.30 points

MN and the Daily Texan crowd didn't care about deaths under Trump because that was all olds and fat people who they thought would die anyway. Now that it's younger people and kids, they suddenly give a shit and Biden is to blame. Not people like them who minimized everything, said we should just go wide open and not protect anyone, puppeted personal choice bullshit since the beginning, and helped foster an environment of distrust that's allowed millions of morons to help keep this virus going and making it deadlier. But yeah, Biden's at fault here.18 points

The 2008 Arkansas game was one of the early games that accumulated the feeling among Longhorn fans that this team might actually be pretty damn great. None of those early opponents were all that good (FAU, UTEP, Arky, Colorado), but our offense seemed to hum along each game racking up points and our defense was pretty stout. Also, that game was the first I attended with my daughter. Here she is in the stands, with a look of pure joy.17 points

In order to have common ground, both sides first have to agree it exists. Compassion, understanding, and sympathy can be met with outright hostility for only so long before it turns to hostility in kind. We’re 18 months or whatever into this, and one side’s begged, pleaded, and bribed to try and get us to the other end of the pandemic. We’ve been met with “fuck you” the entire time. Literally the entire time. We got a perfect display of it last night when Mr. Minnesota or whatever his name is was twisting himself into knots simultaneously arguing about how Biden was handling the pandemic. His position is literally whatever the opposite of whatever Biden is doing because of “the libs.” A lot of us have done our part and we’re suffering because a lot of us ~won’t~. Not can’t, but won’t. It’s ok for those of us that have tried to do the right thing to be flat out fucking over it at this point.14 points

Seriously, how do people like you function? You live in a society. Presumably a society of your choosing. That occasionally means doing things that you don't want to do for the greater good. Like paying taxes. Or getting a vaccine that will save lives. Or not taking a shit on your neighbor's patio. That's a far cry from blindly trusting the government with every facet of your daily life. You fucking dystopian world, slippery slope, fear mongering simpleton.13 points

One thing that continues to really gnaw at me as this goes on is all these people leaving young kids behind. My dad died when I was 6 months old of a flukey cancer that we really didn't have anything for at the time, so to see a lot of kids have to deal with losing a parent over pure carelessness/thoughtlessness just depresses me more every day. Those kids are going to spend a lot of time either angry at their parents or in deep denial of what really happened, and it's not going to be good for them, and it was completely preventable.13 points

I wouldn’t assume all Black people think of UT in this way. I certainly do not, and plenty of others don’t either. I do think it’s pretty obvious Texas is a Southern state, and it’s not too clear why some don’t want to admit that. Maybe they just really don’t want to be associated with it? I dunno. Probably CR here, but I’ve asked many people what does “woke” even mean if you say too many people are “woke” and none of them have given me an answer. Finally, I’ve given my stance on this subject so you can do a search. I love The Eyes, and it gives me chills. I’m pretty confident I can pinpoint what is racist and what isn’t since I’m a Blek, a liberal one at that. I’ve never once thought of The Eyes as racist. I honestly still don’t even know what they are considering racist—the tune it itself or the words? If it’s the words, well just as I learn as a COMM major at UT and what I teach to college students today, words are arbitrary and change meaning over time. If it’s the tune, well I don’t know what the fuck to tell you.12 points
