Quote

How he fits at Texas: Tre Watson was a sort of “jack of all trades” for Cal over the last few years at RB. He was never the feature back but would regularly show his wares in the receiving game or in pass protection while typically serving as the team’s second back in the run game. As a pure runner he’s a good athlete but doesn’t stand out for his position. He was good at setting up defenders in order to get north and south in their run game but lacked the power or explosiveness to do much more than what his OL blocked for him. Texas is essentially picking up a better version of Kendall Moore, a back that can reliably execute a game plan if called upon but isn’t a guy that’s going to carry the offense. – Ian Boyd Watson is the second graduate transfer to choose Texas for its 2018 season along with Calvin Anderson (Rice).

Change the thread title to 2018 please, so these uninformed on lookers know what the heck is going on.

this is huge. he won't just be depth. hopefully this increases the looks we give the RB position in the passing game.

And T. Carter just coughed up some carries. The RB room just got better, welcome to the 40 acres.

I see what you did there and I do not like it

Outstanding. Due to my age and all the various confusing laws I’ll not comment further

Now we just have to use him. I wonder which back transfers now

I mean, there's no reason for a guy like Porter or Houston to waste a year when they can finish their degrees and grad transfer next year.

The Kendall Moore comment is odd

I think he meant it in terms of impact on the team.

Yes, here is the quote: " Texas is essentially picking up a better version of Kendall Moore, a back that can reliably execute a game plan if called upon but isn’t a guy that’s going to carry the offense". That sentence makes no sense. What I think he means is that like Kendall Moore, Tre Watson fits a need at Texas. But while Kendall Moore was very limited in the skills Texas needed at TE, Tre Watson fits Texas' needs at RB much better.

Al Bundy wearing a maroon shirt giving the thumbs up? That gif seems like it sucks.

Yeah, Watson will almost certainly have a bigger impact if healthy. Watson had 950 yards from scrimmage (rushing/receiving) in his JR year before his injury.

Kendall Moore was just a body at a position we were really thin at. Watson actually has some talent.

Yeah, the Moore comparison was a terrible pick. They’re in no way similar.
