  1. From facebook: Thank you for sharing this beautiful story, Jenn, it made our day! Just one of the MANY reasons we love working with the amazing George Springer! ❤⚾❤ We live in Southern California, and wanted to share a story about George Springer. My son just turned 6, and he has been managing a stutter for a few years now. He never lets it get him down, but nonetheless, doesn’t know anyone else who has one. He is a big Houston Astros fan, (even though we are in Angels territory!), and he recently learned that George Springer stutters and does work with your organization. He has been genuinely excited to learn someone like that stutters, too. So off we went, two nights in a row to the Angels vs Astros game in Anaheim to try to meet Springer. Tonight he saw my son with his poster, came over and talked to him for several minutes and told him it is okay to stutter, autographed a baseball card and took photos, then went back into the dugout and came back to give my son a pair of his batting gloves. Others were commenting it was the nicest signing they’d ever seen a player do, and I agree. Springer gained some new fans tonight for sure, and definitely made a little boy’s night! Thank you, George Springer and SAY for all you do! Jenn Harris Kelly P.S. He slept in Springer’s batting gloves all night 😍

  3. 1) Two ratings services rank Fillinger as a 4-star. The composite rank of 0.8884 puts him right at the top of the 3-star range. That begins at 0.8903. 2) He's a multi-sport star, which Coach Herman values very highly for demonstrated athleticism. 3) Absurd measurables - Tons of upside for Fillinger. 4) Impressive offer list - suggests that Texas isn't the only team that thinks he's a good player 5) Ranking trend - Fillinger's recruiting stock has been rising steadily this year. As more information has come in, his ranking has moved up considerably. No reason to believe he won't be a consensus 4-star soon. 6) Location - much more likely to be overlooked in Utah which isn't exactly saturated with scouts. May help to explain #5 as well. 7) Work ethic: He's a guy that will fit right into and reinforce the culture that Texas Football is building. 8 ) Staff evaluation - Demonstrated well above the norm in the past. With higher rates players still on the board this suggest to me that the staff has Fillinger rated above some of those players or at a minimum quite close in ability so taking the bird in the hand is more than worthwhile. 9) Commitment - Fillinger sought out Texas, not vice versa. He really wants to be here and the staff won't have to commit a lot of precious time and effort to keeping him in the fold. Considering how much work still has to be done to fill the 2020 class that's important. It's especially true when measured against so many teams with 16-20 commits already.

  4. As a prospect, I think Stone is better. His advanced passing ability makes him more of a sure thing, and he's a decent athlete to boot; could potentially be a Baker Mayfield type. Potential DFW recruiting boost in a loaded DFW year, at least at the top (top five 247 in-state prospects are from DFW, although it drops off after that), is a bonus, especially if he commits early; although for some of the guys like Brockermeyers, Byrd, and Earle, we might not need his help. I have big concerns about the odds of him sticking around. I don't think he's a Trevor Lawrence type of 5* where he'd surpass Roschon, Card, and Jackson early, which means he'd likely be sitting for about three years before starting for two, and 5*s transfer at an alarming rate nowadays (from 2010 to the 2018 class, there have been 19 composite 5* QBs, and 11 of them transferred at some point). Given that Stone has already shown a proclivity to chance the scenery for early playing time in high school, I don't think it's farfetched that he'd do it in college. A 5* looks great on paper, but if he transfers after a year on campus like Bru McCoy (or Cam Rising), then in the end the class ranking doesn't mean a lot. If he commits to Texas, I won't bitch too much though about landing a 5*. In regards to prospect rating, I don't think he's far enough ahead as a prospect over Milroe to not make it a conversation. As baseball scouts like to say, Milroe is "toolsy"; very athletic, good size, good arm; and there's probably more arm to unlock if the mechanics get fixed. I really like his running ability. Unlike some other running QBs, he has a lot of wiggle and spatial awareness, and runs and cuts decisively to go with his obvious speed. Right now, he's a running QB, not a dual threat. He needs a lot of work in the passing game, but at Texas, he'd likely be afforded that time given the depth chart. In college football, dual threats are trump cards who are match winners, and when given the choice between an athletic traditional passer and a dual threat, I lean towards the dual threat. I'm curious to know how much of an impact he'd have in recruiting. He's teammates with Tunmise, but who else could he help with locally? I think he'd much more likely stick around until he can compete for the starting spot as an upperclassman than Stone. I'd like to land both, but that seems very unlikely, especially after landing two the previous year.

  6. Anybody who would rather have Stone than Milroe in the Herman offense hasn’t been paying attention. Give me Milroe please, thanks. Anybody who believes that Stone would sign on as the second QB in a class really hasn’t been paying attention. Give me Milroe please, thanks. 2021 is starting off really fucking well.

  7. Apparently unlike aggy, Texas doesn't expect its defensive linemen to often run 40 yards chasing a ball carrier.

  18. if they keep pushing that, then here's the conversation that will happen over and over again. "where'd you go to school?" "Texas" ""Cool i love Austin, so much better than that shithole in College Station. Between you and me those aggies are fucking strange. jizz jar and all that" "No, I am a Texas aggy. I went to Texas a&m ..." "what? you kinda trailed off there at the end. Anyway, can you believe how shitty Texas A&M is getting? Letting in anyone with a pulse. I swear, Austin Community College is more selective. Thank God that the school you went to is still working to keep the value of their degree high and not just a diploma mill, right?" "...<walks off in shame>

  22. Yeah. Did I say we wouldn’t? We’d be ecstatic with lots of players, but that doesn’t mean he’s looking like a culture fit. And its not leaving us out of his top 5, dude. He cut his brother out of his recruitment, he trolls schools in his interviews with quotes, he releases contradictory top 5s within weeks of each other, and he pissed off the North Shore coaches with his behavior to the point that they made him visit state schools and essentially apologize because his behavior was potentially hurting other recruits at his school. Its not growing a pair, it’s literally just observing his behavior. He can be coveted, and talented, and still be a PITA. They aren’t mutually exclusive. And by the same token, not every recruit or blue chip behaves the way he has behaved, dipshit.

  40. If this is true, then my dick just moved. I was in when I heard “Top Gun 2”. I’ve been waiting for part dos of this movie to come out since my mom purchased the VHS for my 9th birthday. I don’t care how badly awesome it is, I’m taking Little Homesick to see it in the IMAX, just to one up my dad who took me to see it when I was Little Homesick’s age back in ‘86. That said, there’s absolutely no way that I can’t invite LTC (Ret) Homesick Senior to come with. We’re so fucking doing this.
